That little stuff sucks. I'm a little jealous of that grapple, that's a slick rig. Hoping to get out tomorrow or Monday and get some cedar down for the deer. We had some blowdowns from the wind a couple of weeks back but they're hung up and nothing can reach em. Not sure I can get back that far with the snow though. We shall see.

Ya it was a pain! Nice! Ya the deer devoured the cedar I had put down, they love it! Ya the snow gets me every year! Might still be possible, the past storm wasn’t as big as they said so I think I can make it out to the trail I had already broke. The grapple is amazing, works very well for brush also. I couldn’t imagine the wider style grapples being any good for logs. I’m happy with it for sure!

Snow makes it fun dont it.... I see you have same problems as I do, trees lean wrong way, saw gets pinched, chains comes unhooked. RUclips wont let me post link but I did solve chain unhooking problem with these hooks>> GRADE 100 CLEVIS SLING HOOK WITH LATCH - 5/16 at {Laclede Chain} They was pricy ten years ago at around $30.00/pc. I bought 4 and put them on 3 of my longer chains but keep the regular hooks on the two shorter chains..... After this past storm I still have foot of snow in woods but the rain turned everywhere else into ice. I'm hoping the ice-cleats I ordered few days ago show up soon, I like the snow but still like to stay on my feet.... I also have a good size maple log set aside, like you when having a mill I want to saw it into something besides firewood.... That place where your tractor was stuck, couldn't you use your grapple to push yourself back out? I do that all the time with bucket.........

Oh cool I’ll have to check out that clevis sling hook! Oh yeah, I slipped and fell on the icy snow a few times lol especially after the log slides down it. i’m looking forward to making some nice stuff out of Maple also would like to experiment with the yellow birch and thinking of making some live edge slabs out of the some of the white pine. yeah, I probably could’ve tried your right with the grapple but instead of tearing up my compacted trail, I decided to just use the winch.

@@CentralMaineOutdoorsman If you do buy one, you may have to buy at least 3 to cut down shipping cost, also, I had them for ten years, they cant be be broken...... Tomorrow is suppose to be a great day, a good day for you to make another video, next week is artic air so you wont see me in the woods..... And if you have moose up your way, while walking around woods, you should keep a eye for moose antlers from now for the next few weeks. 30 years ago my son found a set while snowmobiling, sold them for $500.00, would've got double but they was a little on the small side, still thats not a bad snowmobile ride especially when moose are far and few between in my area.......

@@job38four10 OK I hear ya yeah!there’s not too many moose around here, but you never know not far from here there’s an abundance of them but yes, that sounds like a damn good snowmobile ride your son had. I need to check the weather I didn’t realize it was going to be cold next week. I do have one video, prepped and ready to go should be posted the next few days.

Hey bud do you have a problem with coyotes at your place? I have a very large pack of them her at mine. I was blowing the snow off the driveway yesterday and saw that multiple tracks were walking up our driveway. I have got my night hunt license and it's time to start the extermination process. Just wondering if you have an issue like I do where you're fairly close.

I dont. They are around but only hear them every once in a while. I do see tracks in my lot. Not sure if my dogs keep them away because I still have deer carcasses that they haven’t touched. My buddy did shoot a deer one afternoon and found it in the morning eaten by coyotes. 😞. I do have a AR with a ATN night vision scope ready for coyotes. If you ever need a hand let me know.(also have my night permit)

@CentralMaineOutdoorsman just the other day there was a pack at least 20 strong down on the rd. Cars were actually stopped for them. I used to night hunt daily but have lost my gear over the years. I'm in the process of getting more. I was gonna trap for them but I have dogs that aren't so smart and that's a whole different animal that I don't have any knowledge on. Not to mention trapping laws are ridiculous.
