    Another addition to this concept could be company issued diving helmets.
    They are replicas of old diving helmets.
    They cost 140, don't require 2 hands to hold, and are slightly lighter at 15 lbs
    But have 30 seconds less oxygen.
    Expensive, but mostly a improvement

    • @YesterMoon47
      @YesterMoon47 2 месяца назад +18

      Maybe if a comrade dies with some oxygen left then the live person can use a tube or something to transfer the unused oxygen over to them, and this does not only extend the length of time underwater, but it might make people turn on each other.
      (Edit) perhaps if someone is overtaken while wearing the helmet the helmet gets urchins through it and it cannot be worn, however… there are 2 uses with this overtaken helmet, first of all a head is almost a sphere, so you can use the almost sphere shaped helmet as a spiky bowling ball, and it can be sold as some scrap, just don’t step on it in the ship.
      Ok… i need to calm down and not barge into other ideas too often.

      Maybe there can be a 7% chance it can be an overtaken helmet. Its the same viral urchins that have control over it. If the employee puts it on, their view will be obscured by the glass, but also tiny, barley noticeable spikes covering the edges of their screen. At a random time, these spikes slowly cover their screen. If the player is given enough time and take it off, the helmet would sprout legs made from spikes and run off, though you can stalk it and bash it to pieces with a shovel or sign. If the employee wears it for too long, the spikes will entirely take up their screen and make them fall unconcious for 30 seconds. Once the 30 seconds are up, their right hand will sprout a sea urchin and their lower half will fall off, as the same legs as the helmet take their legs place. They will pursue players and even launch their right arms at them as a last dich effort to kill them, but will cost them their primary source of attack. (They can use their legs if needed.)

  • @TheSandwhichman108
    @TheSandwhichman108 2 месяца назад +80

    Now I’m curious…What would an overtaken strider look like?
    Idea-
    The corrupted strider
    There’s a very rare 10% chance that a strider covered in urchins will spawn.
    This strider variant is aggressive right off the bat constantly roaming around in a jankey twitchy manner covered in urchins as an eire red glow searches for its next target…
    This strider will also attack normal striders and vise versa with both trying to neutralize each other.
    If one is chasing you but detects a normal strider they’ll immediately focus on the strider instead of the employees so it could be possible that you could lure one or another into trying to dispatch the other giving you a chance to escape.

    • @TsulaAngenati2292

      By their very nature I’d assume Striders are immune to the Urchins

    • @cringejoestar9791
      @cringejoestar9791 2 месяца назад +6

      @TsulaAngenati2292 one would hope so, course chances are its likely the urchins don't fair well away from moisture, only able to survive submerged or inside something bloated with water, with the frozen cold simply being too dry for them. Despite that i think a stryder getting infected would be theoretically be possible, with it simply being a brief thing and likely causing the styder to cease function after a rampage as the infection dies off from its moisture being frozen up (assuming another stryder wouldn't detect the infection and put it down first)

    • @TheSandwhichman108
      @TheSandwhichman108 2 месяца назад +1

      @@cringejoestar9791 Fair enough. This is just a fun idea.
      On another note I also had an idea for a variant of a monster from a previous video I think it’s called the tar hound.
      This variant is a partially aquatic variant called the ink beast.
      On land it can secrete to create ink puddles that slow down the player for as long as you’re standing in them.
      Underwater it works differently instead of slowing you down it creates a cloud of ink causes a blindness and inverts your controls if you enter it.
      You can stop the ink beast by shining a light on it freezing it but upon turning off the light again it causes them to enter an enraged state dealing mire dmg and moving a bit faster for about a minute.
      This creates a risk vs reward scenario. Do you try to hold the creature back as much as possible to give the rest of your crew one less monster to worry about?
      Or do you only stun it when absolutely necessary at the risk of being cornered and killed by the creature.

    Here is an idea of mine, "the sea scavenger". The Sea scavenger is a robotic entity that looks like the Mactera grabber from DRG, but a little bigger and the main body being more fish like.. they were originally made to collect samples, but now the definition of samples is anything it can pick up. they wander around the depths grabbing any item on the ground, including urchin clusters and parasites. however, if hit the creature will drop a random item that it has collected, including the parasites. It also has a unique function, when it is consuming an item it has a 1% of dropping a round data pearl, it is a 2 handed item that has the value of and weight of a gold bar. It can only drop 1 pearl and will flee if the overtaken shows up or its hit too many times.

Something I like about water-based concepts like this is that Adamance is the moon with the most water around it (mostly out of sight) so it'd be the most likely to also have these interiors/enemies spawn, which is good, because Adamance's whole gimmick is that literally every enemy spawns there.

    It might also be interesting if there was a potential game state where, if a player survives and leaves the moon with the Urchin Plague, not only do they continue to have it until they next die, but now future moons on that save will have the ability to spawn Urchin tumors without the parasites and Drowned Ones. I think it might be interesting if the cramped corridors of the Mineshaft map also has the tumors, or if the submerged map you brought up in a different episode could have Drowned Ones as well. Flooded moons could also have the ability for them to appear, only this time outside where it's _much_ harder to break line of sight.
    The only benefit to bringing the urchins out of Tartarus is that, now, the Striders all deactivate. Their mission is failed, there is no use for them now.

    • @Draconicfish2679
      @Draconicfish2679 2 месяца назад +9

      I doubt the Striders would simply deactivate after that.
      Sure, their mission might be failed and the urchins have gotten out, but they can still try to limit future urchins from getting out as much as possible, right?

    • @cringejoestar9791
      @cringejoestar9791 2 месяца назад +5

    Huge fan of this series, and it's great to see another part of it again!
    Been thinking up one of my own concepts all day since this showed up on my for you page, so I'll drop one off here for fun.
    Pretty simple overall concept, I wanted to try out something new, like rewarding the player for going about work passively.
    I've just been calling it the "Raptor Mantis". An enemy that is actually pretty neutral at times, if a little curious when it feels.
    Appearance-wise, I'm imagining a mixed quadrupedal-bipedal insect-like creature, visually inspired by the bug it gets its name from. Chitinous armour, long raptorial forelimbs, but a longer abdomen to support its imbalanced weight on two legs when required. About probably 5ft? A little shorter than the average crew member. Again, personality-wise, it might wander past employees, but doesn't really do much. Unless...
    If an employee happens to be holding any sort of weapon item in their hands, the Raptor Mantis will quickly take notice. Be it sign, shovel or knife, the Raptor Mantis goes on the offensive. A competitive creature by nature, it steps close, faster than an employee can get away from it, raising its limbs defensively. Whatever the player tries to do, it'll keep just enough distance to strike. If the victim attempts to strike it with their weapon, it may take a couple hits from a knife, but it can also directly block a swing from signs and shovels, before striking itself. The employee has to keep a watch on how it holds its stance... a horizontal limb behind its raised defensive one indicates a naturally horizontal slash, sweeping forward. They've gotta jump back. If the mantis instead points its limb forward, a piercing attack instead, jabbing forward, where the employee has to dodge to the side. These hits likely could deal about 24% damage, something of note for later.
    This continues on until it makes its kill, or is pacified once more. And there's no easy way out of it, trying to hide your weapon by switching item slot, or dropping it, the mantis is smart enough to recognize that you're still armed, whether you want to be or not. So... how do you not die?
    Well, it's not easy. The Raptor Mantis does play fair, however. If the player gets jumped by a Snare Flea, or has to maintain eye-contact with a Coilhead, the mantis is actually enough of a sport to be at the ready, but not engage. It'll keep its distance to avoid any cheap strikes, but once the employee can face it again, back to business. And managing to lock it behind a door won't help either, because it'll just barge through after a few knocks. But... the Raptor Mantis can show mercy. If the employee its aggro'd on is around maybe say... 10 HP or less? then if said victim drops their weapon, the mantis will back off this time. A sign of defeat, and it'll proudly saunter off with its victory. Be wary not to pick your weapon back up again, because it will not give you the chance a second time.
    Then, just an idea for a bit of a unique mechanic, one to solidify the comedic nature of the Raptor Mantis. If the player happens to be holding a shotgun as their weapon of choice, the Raptor Mantis will instead hiss unnervingly. It's not a fan of such a strong, indiscriminate weapon. So, when the shotgun's holder turns their back away from it, the mantis will get as close as quickly as it can to deliver a sneak attack, causing the bullets to fall out of the shotgun, effectively disarming the player of their strength, before immediately going into its attack mode. But... this does have a use. Not a friend, but an ally with a similar goal. If the Raptor Mantis happens to be lured or brought in range of a Nutcracker, it'll treat it all the same, running up to it and disarming it of two bullets, sending the Nutcracker into a state of hostility towards the mantis, which will promptly run off to be chased until its out of distance. This gives any player nearby the perfect opportunity to stock up on more bullets, which normally require the death of the Nutcracker to be earned. It's not perfect, but I thought it'd be a unique way to give the Raptor Mantis some other use, other than just shutting down the player's ability to defend themselves, especially if it shows up while you're already busy fighting something else.
    If you happen to give this a read, thanks for taking the time, just a fun idea that I wanted to write down somewhere, and here seems like a good as place as any.

    this is a whole another game. you should make it. i dont think it'd fit at all with the strict time limit of lethal company. maybe a more long expedition, survival focused version of lethal company.

    A moon concept i have had in my head is finally relevant, and feel free to use this if you see this. With credit ofc.
    A moon called Valdon, it is a large flat dusty land that is near a red supergiant star, and because of this there are waves of intense heat and a bright red sky, however the planet is surprisingly humid from a thick atmosphere, but also the humidity can work against your favor, and it will not rain but the intense heat waves can make evaporation so violent that if an employee were caught outside for too long from humidity, or getting too wet, they will fly off into the sky being taken by the water. There is also a chance for a weird creature (an unfourtanite victim of the evaporation) to come falling out of the sky crushing anything below with a chance of a bit of scrap somewhere within the creature.
    This is rather messy but you could probably put things together :)

      Im actually getting likes? Guess i will start yapping another idea now :)
      PREPARE THYSELF FOR CONCEPT YAPPING
      Most facilities/structures usually have plenty of floors and rooms, but that is starting to get old with people on max brightness, do instead why not a looming horror next to you at all times?
      I present to you the shaft, it is one big room of vertical horror with catwalks and smaller rooms along the side of the walls and below there is darkness with darkness, darkness, and more darkness below, the shaft is an old mining boar hole that has gotten very very big, but like any other moon its of course abandoned.
      And one must not bother to jump from one floor down to another too often, not from fall damage but some large creature wont take kindly to some orange flashy thing popping in and out above, so if its upset, then good luck lol.

    I originally posted this on the last video...but i'll repost it here
    One Idea: The relic salamander
    This creature(most likely a small python sized olm type) would always spawn with a screamer in the corners of large dry sewer rooms, If it detects threat it'll lift the screamer into the air in front of itself until the foe leaves, If they do it puts the deactivated screamer back on the ground beside it, If a crew mate steals its prize they'll chase the player who has the screamith as long as its active stopping in place upon deactivation but will move and pause to feel the ground around it within a small vicinity(most likely 1/4 of its body length) always going back to the place it originally stopped after each pause, If it successfully ensnares a member in this state it'll grope you're suit for the stolen scrap If you don't have it's loot it'll wander away and if you do it'll snatch it from you and bite you before returning to the corner it originally spawned in/find a different corner and settle there, If you escape/whack it with a shovel before it can firmly grasp you it'll be stunned for a bit, If the creature grabs you if a screamer is active it'll maul the player who has it and flee to another corner, will attack other hostile deaf/scrap stealing creatures.
    (uses the same vibration mechanic as the false wall and will also grab and maul masked players).

    • @matthewlecoure8704
      @matthewlecoure8704 Месяц назад

      This feels like a symbiotic relationship between the two the screamer protects the olm and the olm offers the ability to move and find food. it would also be cool if it use/help other scrap, try to force a mask on to a player and other things, and if you need a name I'd say a relic salamander
