How to Install a Portable Garden Hose Faucet Extension
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 16 сен 2024
- Brandon designed a garden hose faucet extension for our front yard. We wanted to move our faucet closer to the driveway so we can wash our cars more easily.
Low Density Thread Seal Tape: amzn.to/47FoTa6
Purple Primer Handy Pack: amzn.to/3vH2MTs
PVC Cutter: amzn.to/48Yh9kr
Irrigation Swivel Adapter: amzn.to/3vIOn9m
PVC Coupling: amzn.to/3HlfN7P
Right Angle PVC Fitting Elbow: amzn.to/47KQNRY
TIP: Make sure you close the original water valve as this PVC pipe extension is not designed to hold water pressure for a long period of time.

I like the way you hid the pipe inside the fence post, it's creative and looks great. I recommend painting your PVC pipe where it's exposed to protect it from sunlight :)
@@DragonBuilds Thanks for the tip :)
Outstanding work full view and thumbs up ,,💯,,👍

Your welcome :)
Good idea!
Great work and you make it seem so easy..
Thanks, we had some trials along the way with several stops to the Home Depot!

Like 8, very nice 👌👌👌👌
awesome
Cool
catching up thank u for your sure
It looks nice! I enjoyed watching the build and the music reminded me of one of my past favorite shows "How it's Made". Was that a downspout from the gutter that you cut at 3:50? I am pondering on whether I want to build a simple outdoor shower by our swimming pool. I don't know how elaborate I want to design, but I am thinking KISS Method because I haven't built many things in my life. There are a few other projects I would like to accomplish e.g., a sink for the garage, a garden hose stand instead of coiling it and throwing it on the ground,
Yes that is a downspout. We added a T coupling for drainage
@@stunningmisadventures I am a bit confused on the purpose because you are mixing dirty rainwater from your gutter to wash your car?
@@PappyNet01 It works fine for us!

I love your video. I was wondering if you guys have somewhere the list of all the items that you guys use and the links that way at least you can get something out of it?
Hi Jenny! This video was posted two years ago so I don't have all of the product links. Here are some of them:
Low Density Thread Seal Tape: amzn.to/47FoTa6
Purple Primer Handy Pack: amzn.to/3vH2MTs
PVC Cutter: amzn.to/48Yh9kr
Irrigation Swivel Adapter: amzn.to/3vIOn9m
PVC Coupling: amzn.to/3HlfN7P
Right Angle PVC Fitting Elbow: amzn.to/47KQNRY
I hope this is helpful!
@@stunningmisadventures oh my goodness thank you so much. I appreciate you.
I was looking for the PVC coupling you use from the water Spicket to the actual PVC pipe. Do you remember what store you got it from?
@@jennybaez-cepeda4919 I had a hard time finding that on amazon. We bought it at the Home Depot!
@@stunningmisadventures muchas gracias!!
What’s the purpose of the 4x4 wood piece you inserted at the base? Just curious?
The purpose of screwing the square PVC post into the 4x4 was to make it stand up straight
Geez, that was a lot of work. So couldn't use the original outdoor faucet any more, why not a splitter nozzle ? Hopefully that wasn't an installation up north where it freezes most of winter ! I just buy a longer hose.....
We would need a 150 ft hose to wash our cars. We also didn’t want the hassle of wheeling it up that far every time we wash our cars. We live in California so it does not freeze at all.
Nice job! What was the metal bracket on the bottom of the post? Is that just to set in concrete?
Yes, it was to set concrete and needed something to mount the wood
Where did you get that post you used for the spigot?
It is a PVC fence post. We got it from Lowe’s www.lowes.com/pd/Freedom-Common-4-in-x-4-in-x-8-1-3-ft-Actual-4-in-x-4-in-x-8-33-ft-Pre-Assembled-White-Vinyl-Fence-Blank-Post/3158963
👌👌
Very cool. But the drain doesn't seem like it will be used. Perhaps it could use another spigot just for washing your hands over the drain. And the other spigot for the hose.
That is a very good idea!! Thanks for sharing!
Nice… fyi - you’re not suppose to use pfte tape on garden hose threads.
We did not know that. Thanks!
Hi what is the name of the blue hose?
Brandon used it. About a month later, it bursted so he ended up replacing it with PVC.
@@stunningmisadventures thanks for reply
thanks. i watched on mute. the music totally unnecessary
Some have a different preference but thanks for the feedback!
Sanding is a waste of time
Why is that?
@@stunningmisadventures You're removing bonding material. Look up how pvc cement and primer works. Also they should be twisted on about 90 degs. Not pushed straight in
