Awesome reviews of everything! Even if I’m not interested in the product, your in-depth review/analyst style is better than most RUclips gear review “darlings” that only show you the best tones on their $$$$$ rigs. I feel that I learn way more about stuff I didn’t realize I needed to know in most cases with you thus saving future gear frustrations and buyer’s remorse therein. Your time is very much appreciated.
Really thorough as always and super helpful insights. I always learn something new in your vids. Thanks
Hey Ryan, thanks for really taking the time to do a review and demo this in depth. Will definitely look into the screws of the enclosure and ither things you’ve mentioned for improvement. The analysis of the waveforms were very interesting! Again thanks for your review of the Nibiru Distortion.
You are one of my favorite youtube people, keep up the awesome content, also, I got your Siderum EP, It is awesome man!!
Sounds like a great pedal. Thanks for your thoughtful review!
Another great video, blowing the lid off how a demonstration should be done. I see no one else slapping wave forms up on a PC to get a point across. Got a kick out of the future Ryan explaining the controller chip. Was pretty cool that the manufacturer got back to you with the pertinent info. The last audio sample of this thing sounded pretty damn good.
Damn great review, :)
You’re the reason I put emg pickups to my jackson js32 rhandy rhoads. More power to you. \m/
Have you considered doing a frequency response analysis on common pickup pairings (SD 59+JB, Fishman Fluence, Generic, Lace sets, Asian pickups, etc) Seems to me that part of the market has plenty of snake oil on it
The jfets are not like the mosfet on the OCD, because on the OCD they are used to clip the signal, while on ne nibiru, they are used at boost.
The signal response just shows the high frequencies are cut and there are no mid cuts.
Your amp signal is affected by the tone stack and has a lot of high frequencies, that's why you see a spike (highs) a dip (the tone stack will remove low mids) and then it's high again (in low frequencies).
But you have to keep in mind that the signal of your amp went through multiple stages and that the high frequencies are clipped more, so even though the low frequencies appears that high on your signal, at the end of the preamp, they have been clipped less than the rest, that's why it doesn't sound like a fuzz.
The switches change the feel of the distortion more than the EQ, not because they cause subtle change, but because the voicing is before the clipping, and not after.
Hey Ryan could you possibly try out the Boss Katana head? I think the Katana can fill in as a portable direct to PA modeler with something such as the Mooer Radar while also being able to power a standard cab.
BEHOLD.... THE FLESSSHH... AND THE POWEEER IT HOLDS! (THAT BRIGHT, SHARP TONE THERE REALLY DID REMIND OF MY OLD vs100 HEAD)
Death is such a fantastic band. Chucks tone was pretty kick ass.
I truly appreciate the type of analysis and perspective. Its how I like to look at these things, but real hard to find.. anywhere.
Thanks for the hard work!
Still looking for a "rhythm tone," personally. My Revv G3 gets real close, but still feel its a bit off.. The textures coming through on this pedal intrigue me.
My favorite lead tone comes from a Zoom Tri-Metal though, so what do I know lol
Man it still blows my mind your channel has under 100k subs. Thanks for all that effort. What's the retail price on this thing?
I believe it was $130 plus up to $50 for shipping, location depending.
i saw one used a few days ago i live here in the phillipines ill look it up if interested
