    May I know, how does an algorithmic trader spend his day? So which 20% give you the 80% outcome? Is it backtesting, finding new edge to develop algos for or what is it really?

    • @jacobamaral
      @jacobamaral  8 месяцев назад +1

      Backtesting new strategy ideas gives 80% of the outcome.

    SIR, I have 2 choices--1) buy one given forex pair every new day at the open at market price wth take profit(TP) 50 pips and stop loss(SL)50 pips on one ticket as one order 2) second choice is to buy same pair but order is placed as pending order at the open of every new day--buy the same forex pair 100 pips below the open price as pending order with take profit of 50 pips and stop loss of 50 pips all on the same ticket.And after one year of every day trading which strategy is more likely to make any money?And what answer SUPERCOMPUTER would give to my question?Seek your wisdom.

    Hey Jacob great interview! Quick question, do you do work-for-hire? I'm wondering what your rates are for a freelance automated trading bot job. Where is the best place I can send a professional inquiry?
    Thanks!

      Hey Isaias, I do not do work for hire due to time constraints. My course maybe the better solution for you.

    Great interview. Not sure I'd be comfortable trading someone else's strategy. I also find the correlation b/w overnight price action and daily price action a very interesting space to study. One caveat is that intraday price action can be choppy and may go through your stop loss although it may still go in the direction that you had "anticipated".

    Hi Jacob
    I know how to code my algo strategy, i know how to do a desktop software to manage it , the main and only problem I don’t know how to get the fastest data possible from the exchange \broker and execute my orders in a specific order type like FOK ,the whole trade from open it to close it may take 30 seconds , the main issue with my strategy that it need an accurate fast execution , I don’t know how to do it , how does these softwares like mt4 for ex , feed the data from the brokers so fast , i want to use fix api , what do you recommend me to do , what should i learn in programming to understand this problem, I don’t wanna use any third party software at all and most of the brokers does not support my country (we have war)💔.

      @jacobamaral  2 года назад +1

      Hey Ms Safy, if you want to do fill or kill either you could have a timer that cancels the order if it hasn't been filled or brokerages like Interactive Brokers has a FOK order you can submit via code. You will need to learn programming (check my playlists).

    I think he curve-fits the back-test results on his site. I tried 2 of his models and one of those lost more than any of his back-tested results. I started over a year ago and the results have been terrible, I do much better trading discretionarily on my own.

      That's why now i prefer to try my own startegy after loosing believing than the others were doing better than me...But it's always interesting listening to people debating about trading strategy.

      Agreed, I tried one of the models to compare against some of my own algos. Started it in January, down 30% ytd (actual account), actual results per the website say it should be up 56%. Lesson learned, trade your own stuff and as always no free lunch in the market.

    Some interesting info here. But overall I think you need to practice/ improve your interview technique. Stop saying "My Next question..." it is so amateurish. It is an interview, not an interrogation. Also, stop talking about yourself and what you are doing. At best keep your thoughts to no more than 5 seconds. It is boring for the interview to hear you talking about your own life. The interview is about them, and you should make it about them. You can see Kyle hold back a sigh several times in the interview.
