You brought back memories! My mom used to make a very similar dish, but instead of the sausage she’d use any leftover meat that she had that wouldn’t feed everyone unless she stretched it. I remember leftover Thanksgiving turkey, leftover roast pork or beef.

Ohhhh my fluff Pam! I was just thinking about making yha😢exact dish. My late husband used to make it for me when I was still recovering from open heart surgery. One of the spices he would use was monterrey steak seasonings. That man could cook as well, if not better me. He was amazing with shrimp and Alfredo in angel hair pasta😋 He's been with Jesus almost 6 years now,he was only 49. God bless you Pam. I never miss your videos 👑🙏🏻💞✝️🐾🕯🕯🕯🕯🕯

My Scottish born mother made something similar with ground sausage. She called it sausage and tatties! Anything in a pan my mother always pan poached a bit. That includes liver, many things. She would let it then dry out at the end. So a bit of water went in the pan that she sliced the potatoes driectly in. She cut hers chunkier. My mother sliced everything in her hand straight into pots. I cant remember if she precooked the sausage first. I do in a separate pan. The potatoes often got a lid to steam to soften. Oniions and sausage added. Cooking as the water evaporated to let everything brown. She liked the potatoes mushed down a bit. It made kind of an odd sloppy dish because my parents loved dipping bread into everything!
