Love this and love TheoTown. I think I love it so much is the fact that it reminds me of Sim City 3000 and the sandbox mode is what I love the most. The game is my stress reliever and I sometimes build for hours, usually after everything I need to take care of is done.
My highest one has 60k but everyone is crammed on the southern section, so I'm creating a new city up north with planned public transport and train stations laid out before I start building (to reduce traffic)
I'd rather build a city with about 5k people but it's highly detailed and has a diversity of architecture, roads, infrastructure, etc. Like seriusly, provide your city some randomness, making some unique sites, buildings, parks and area.

its unfortunate this game has some of the worst trash traffic generation and management in pretty much any city sim ever made, just one single 6x6 industry zone and a pop of 700-800 generates a game ruining amount of trafic on 1x traffic setting.
Build a park, school and hospital at the place where you have established your city, and build a factory at a distance. Your city will start growing. Remember, build a smaller commercial area than the residential area you are building. Even after all this, if the city did not develop So build more factories.
