Spit it Out will get a big Harumph outta ya. Drive is way bigger, drums are BIG, the song takes you on one of those Big Wreck unexpected "what?!?" musical journeys. Definitely your jam brother!
@@betbuk I know this is totally out in left field from this Big Wreck🙃... But, I liked Marillion's first album so much when it came out for the same reason. The music is very pretty, but Fish's lyrics and delivery have this hard, punk, "I don't sing like a pop idol!" edge to them. It's a totally different genre, and a different time. But it has that magical blend. It's kind of like when you mix two foods together that you never thought would taste good. A whole new flavour that's better than the two individually.
Good morning from New England..Ive heard this band a few times over the yrs and this really surprised me..man the forward momentum of the bass and drums is killer..and those hard jabs in the riffing really adds a heaviness to the song..and that middle section was a straight Ac/Dc feel...Nice way to start the day... Peace from the Northeast..
That singer sounds so much like Chris Cornell. I'm upset with myself because I bought their first album I think in like 2000, loved it, but never looked at their newer music because I was becoming a Guitar virtuoso fan at the time and only listened to guitar instrumentals for years. I totally slept on this band, and Now I'm seeing incredible live performances from the band, with the lead singer not just sounding great, but playing some amazing lead guitar work as well. I gotta catch up on these guys.
I was at this show. They are a killer live band. Ian is a monster guitar player. Hoping they tour the states soon. You’ll definitely like Fear and cowardice.
Nice choice of song, really show how good Big Wreck is, especially since this is live no studio polished happening here. As far as I remember, member of big wreck was alumni of music institute, probably Berkeley? Correct me if I'm wrong, so they got all their technicality, and of course talent. Ian Thornley power voice is very strong in this one, sometimes remind of the late Chris Cornell. Their song 'ghost' just a one off song which not showing fully who big wreck are...
I think you've been bitten. Once Big Wreck get their claws in you there's no match for them. Be sure to check out the new stuff... latest EP called Big Wreck 7.2 is a scorcher. New drummer too... here's a great recent live clip: ruclips.net/video/wIoUTcMXW1I/видео.html
I'm surprised you liked this as much as you did. It's a good, driving song, but on the simplistic side for them. I can see Ghosts not being to everybody's taste, but you saw a live version with some extended noodling which, while I think is great, I can see not adding to the song if it's not one's cup of tea. Bombs Away is a great song of one of their recent EPs, killer driving riff that ends in a flurry. They have an entire catalogue of great songs and the bass player is killer.
you need to check out there other heavier stuff also very recent ones bombs away, fear and cowardice, and bail out some really dirty riffs and awesome vocals they have the best tone out there in my opinion
New album 7 kicks butt, gotta review Spit it Out

You've hit on Big Wreck's magic. They are the best at mixing gritty and pretty. You get the best of both worlds.
Gritty and Pretty! I LOVE that! PERFECT characterization!

What a nice find! It was like Chris Cornell singing over Led Zeps Trampled Underfoot

The original band members formed while attending the Berklee College of Music in Boston.

🤘🏻😃
Some of their newer material is very heavy. Cheers
Like this band. This song reminds me of a song by live precious declaration, I think is the song which has a more pronounced guitar riff.
