I too would rather pay for the Uber, the Uber driver's tip and speeding ticket than an ambulance. And it's sad that even if I had to pay for all this things twice, it would still be cheaper than an ambulance
Yeah and then there are the stories of Americans visiting somewhere in Europe, getting injured/sick, and then panicking when a local calls an ambulance because they think it will cost them a fortune... Y'all are really traumatised over there and I'm so sorry.
Yeah, as much as it won't be free for them, based on what Shinri said, it would still be way cheaper (like, maybe not the out of pocket amount, but still not debt)
I had to get an ambulance last year, and it cost around $5000 USD. The emergency room visit cost over $64000 USD. I didn't have surgery or anything, just an ultrasound and pain medication. If I didn't have health insurance, I would have been in debt for a very, very long time. In short, it's BAD.
I got bit by a dog. It wasn’t even that big of a deal, it just nipped me. But because it happened at work I had to report it and go to the emergency room to get rabies shots. The bill was 30,000$.
@@big-t-shirts That is just absurd, there is no reason, no justification, for these procedures to be anywhere near that expensive. Thank god I live in a normal country with "free" healthcare.
Years ago I broke both my ankles in a bad hop, realizing almost immediately that something was wrong I took the bus to the hospital but made 2 mistakes: first was that needed to make transfer halfway to be dropped in front of it, and the 2nd was not really realizing how bad it was until the adrenaline wore off, I physically almost couldn't get off. But when I did, I laid out in the grass, around the corner from the hospital and was NOT gonna be able to walk. So I called a share ride Uber, and the driver was cool enough to help me make it to the front desk. That's how bad and willing I was to NOT call for ambulance, Shinri is right.
Yes the ambulance is super expensive and the ER has a super long wait if it’s not live or dead so if you can do avoid at all cost I once have a deep cut that can’t stop bleeding and went to ER by uber and I wait for 5 hours until it finally stopped and discharge myself from ER and got 0 treatments lmao
Yeah, like why is EVERYTHING in the US profit-oriented to the point that money is more important than human life (and health). The more I hear about it the more I think the whole country is just a huge money laundering scheme that is pretending to have a working legislature
I remember when I was a kid my uncle had a heart attack and a ambulance had to take him. It was pretty pricy but lord I can't imagine how much it costs now T_T
I was having seizures after a dentist surgery and i still felt bad that my dad had to call an ambulance, the bill was so ridiculous. I know i wasnt breathing, but we were already in a car like, just drive to the hospital lol😅
Just so that we’re all clear: don’t call an Uber as a substitute for an ambulance. Because I’m pretty sure they’re liable if anything happens to you on the way to the ER.
I'm willing to pay for my friend's speeding ticket because I'm NOT paying for an ambulance.
Shinri is being so freaking real. The US healthcare system sucks

I stand by what i said, Shinri no sleep triggered me.
I WAS RIGHT TO BE TRIGGERED 😂
I heard a little about about it(mostly on twitter) but man the US healthcare(more like doesn't care at this point Oo) is messed up.

Based Shinri as always
at this point, who wouldnt??
Take a plane over to sea and get treated there cheaper 🤔
or eu (depends where is closer) - just anywhere with a health care system that isn't meant to be a profit-centered, but an actual help
Hearing about how expensive an ambulance is and health care in general in the US is a bit depressing and scary
Sheesh...

we don’t have a choice man. It’s maybe a hundred dollars vs 7000.
