Dump truck looks great. I would put a rubber matt down in your tool box to keep saws from sliding around
I plan to do something in the bottom. I’ll have to see what I can find.
@@digdrivediyin the fire service, we found that Turtle tile worked good in the bottom of boxes like that. And if the chainsaws were anything like ours that leaked bar oil, we got a cheap cookie pan, cut out the turtle tile so the cookie pan set flush in the tile, then put a layer of pig mat in the cookie pan. Then when the saw sat on top of it, any spill would be contained in the pan and pig mat and was much easier to clean. Great video
@@digdrivediy tractor supply has big rubber stall mats that work great
Horse stall Mat from Tracotr supply 3/4 think cut it with a circular saw
And seal up the bolt holes. Water always works it’s way in there and will just reside between the rubber mat and box floor.
Hi Neil, I'm a retired aircraft mechanic and also faced criticism just like this. I ignored them. Not one of those critics had an A & P nor had ever worked on a plane but suddenly became 'experts' on my work. So just keep on doing what you have going as your choices are rather good and really its YOUR truck so do you and keep the vids coming. Thank you for them by the way!!!
I appreciate the support! Thanks so much for watching!
Growing up, my best friends dad was an A&P guy and he drove us up the wall when we were working on our vehicles. He always said we were "half assing it" we always replied were not building a watch and no one will see it at 30k feet! Now that I am retired, I live out in an area where everything is on estate sized lots and we all have shops/buildings behind our houses. I'm not sure how it worked out, but I am surrounded by retired A&P guys. All great guys and a lot of help. I finally have most of them realizing that I am never building a watch, whatever I am working on. lol
@@johnpyle8027 I assist a friend taking care of his 3 planes. Yes, the AME is willing to sign off on our work.
You build to requirements.
I tend towards quality, as I am frugal, and do NOT wish to pay, yet again, for the same job.
Was the same with my motorcycles and my pickup trucks.
It’s YOUR truck! Nobody else’s opinion should matter. Let them buy their own truck 😂
I promise you that your girls will cherish these moments with you for the rest of their lives. Thanks for being the kind of role model that kids these days need!
The look on your face is priceless. Like the other guy said, "it's YOUR truck". Do what you want, and be happy.
Even without the graphics that is one sharp dump truck! In case your Mrs. hasn't finished her Christmas shopping yet, whisper to her "magnetic base drill press" that's exactly the tool you need to be doing these kinds of projects and the better drill bits. Great job Neil!
For sure! I was trying to find one at Harbor Freight but they didn’t have one locally. It would have been handy for this!
@@digdrivediyvevor I think has been advertising a magnetic base drill on my ads.
Captain Kleeman has gotten some things from them. Ask him.
Hey Neil. Your face when you saw the dump truck after the toolbox was installed was great. It reminded me of Ralphie’s dad smiling when he was outside on the street and saw the beautiful leg lamp lit up in the family room window. What an award! Well done Neil, well done.
That truck looks amazing.
I am not a diy guy at all but love your work and I hope to learn a few things from your videos!!!
Hello from Wisco!!!!
I can’t believe the girls both fit in that box!!😂😂😂
Have a good one
Thanks! I appreciate that!
I think you did a great job mounting fenders and the tool box,and for getting your daughters involved! Great Dad!🇺🇸👍🐶
Man, that truck is looking sharp. Brand new, and without all the modern bs. Great job.
It's Sunday lunchtime in the uk 🇬🇧, and a weekly episode of Dig-Drive-DIY , it can't get any better. 👍
Appreciate it!
Your smile says it all Neil. Truck looks amazing. You’re blessed with wonderful daughters and wife. Cherish that.
That smile on your face says it all. Like a kid in a candy store for the first time.
The tool box is AWESOME!! And the fenders just make good sense. Definitely function over form.
The amount of smiles and laughter I got to enjoy from this video is so wonderful. Thanks for bring us along!! Truck looks so awesome!!!🔥🔥🔥
Spot on! I'm smiling too! Love to see the girls participating in Dad's endeavors.
My F-250 is at the body shop getting work done. I can’t believe how good it looks, it’s like a brand new truck.
Your F-750 is looking fantastic! It’s always satisfying when you have a passion project turn out perfect.
Really enjoying the dump truck videos! Now get it muddy! :)
I've always liked the add-ons that attract the eye, like the mud flaps that hang from the front bumper on logging trucks to keep puddles from splashing up. The fenders on your truck draw all the lines together and make it all look great. And the chrome just makes the package. I have a 2007 Sterling dump truck which I will be wrenching on over the winter. Your videos motivate me to get going on it.
Looking good!!!!!!!!
She's a beaut Clark!! I personally like the floaters on the front.
lol The shitter's full !! hahahaha Love that movie.
Thanks BD! I really do too!
Clark? As in Clark Kent? ;)
@@davidepperson2376 Clark as in Grisswold.
Truck looks great!
Wow, Neil this truck looks amazing! The rear fenders look great and I love the big wheels and tires on the front as well as the new polished tool box. What a transformation!👍
Hi Neil Great channel and keep up the great videos. I like your truck looks smart. Watching from Auckland New Zealand.
Neil looks amazing! I suggest you put a 1/2 inch rubber mat in the tool box for sound deadening and to keep it cleaner.
Good idea!
Looks great
It’s awesome how the top and bottom of the fenders and box line up as well as the bottom of the gas tank, looks like it was like that out of the factory! Nice work
Yeah, that was a fortunate accident!
For the real tough drill jobs I always use Cobalt drill bits. They are even better than the high speed steel bits. Great Show!
The best part about this being your channel is that it's YOUR channel. We get to watch you do you. There will always be sideline quarterbacks, but it's your things and your decisions. Keep on keeping on and let the critics worry about themselves. Keep up the good work sir.
The truck looks GREAT, even before the tool box. But, the chrome really sets it off!! You keep giving me ideas on things to do to my '03 F-350 dump truck.
And, your girls are precious!! So great to see the relationship that you have with them.
Neil- I have 0 interest in restoring cars/truck/tractors or whatever BUT I love you and your girls. My dad had 1 boy, 4 girls. And that didn’t stop him from teaching us girls how to make and fix things and so much more. Such fond memories that are close to my heart, he’s been gone since 1988. Keep including those sweet gals of yours. Love all of your videos. Thanks 💝❤💝💝
@@annetteladle5116 I appreciate hearing this so much. Thanks for watching!
Truck looks amazing ! I have been wanting a tool box for my 6 wheel L9000 but the battery boxes are on the frame where a box would go. I may relocate. Another cool I deal I had was to convert the passenger side 100 gal fuel cell to a transfer tank with a pump and hose for fuel equipment.
I have that same trouble with my L9000!
Neil, in my opinion you have nailed this project. Looks good all the way around. Just can’t wait for the graphics. That will really make this truck shine.
Thanks for including your family in the video. I love when your little helpers come to help. Keep up the good work!
Happy Holidays!
For drilling frames Neil you need a good step bit
hey Neil, this is one of the best videos you’ve posted in a while not saying the other ones are bad at all. They’re all very enjoyable to watch but this one is outstanding. Keep up the great work love to watch these every Sunday morning.
Wow, thanks!
The satisfaction of pulling a sticky film off a shiny toolbox is unreal! Neil,In my honest opinion. I believe you have the baddest F-750 this side of the mississippi! In reference to the sideboards, I have a company that I buy wear plates from called cope plastics. They specialize in thick plastic boards cut to your size,Your thickness or to your needs more less. Look them up they might be able to provide you with a nice cut side board if you desire! The truck looks flawless! BTW I personally like the fenders. Side note, the exhaust won't put to much heat on them will it? Maybe turn your down pipe more towards the ground. Just a thought. Till next week! GFF OUT
Great kids and a great dad. Our kids are all grown up but that little segment sure made me miss those years.
Keep up the good work!
Truck looking good just don't over tool box the truck my dump truck had a double frame so I put a bridge on frame single axle gets in tight places fenders only time will tell depends on what you get into mud packs in there just have to keep a eye on them look good hope they work for you i had dump trucks myself i also owned a sand and gravel company so to haul my materials to customers had to invest in some small medium and big boys to haul what people needed had a good crew of driver's but also had to hire trucks to take care of customers good post be checking back like mr digg we also had a landfill to i really enjoy watching his channel bring back memories
Congratulations that your teenagers still willingly spend time with you. A very lucky man.
Neil, I like the fenders, and just the cleanliness alone, let alone winter salt sandblasting your new painted frame, no brainer for me. Love the alloy wheels and the plastic covers as well, it needs a touch of graphics for sure, but it looks good just as it sits. Happy Holidays to you and your family, be well my friend.
Thanks Joe! Happy Holidays to you as well.
The truck looks amazing!! The tool box fitted so well. Can't wait to see it completed 😄😄
Thanks 👍
You have nailed every 10 year olds favourite Tonka Truck but silver. Hats off man you have nailed it 🎉🎉
Your truck is looking great! I love how you involve your family and that they truly love to help.
I hardly ever comment on videos. But seeing your face light up after getting your truck all together, that was awesome. Like a kid on Christmas. Great job Neil, and congrats on getting your truck how you've wanted. 😃
Wow! A Northern Indiana truck and you got the drums off that easy? Usually the road salt and grit prevents that BIG TIME!
Lots of great improvements this episode
I love the big steer tires!!! They look like tundra tires!
Neil...so much bling on that sweet truck! You might need to get a special light reflection permit for all that goodness! Bravo.🤣
The truck looks great. I wasn't sure about the fenders but they really look good, and functional. When you think about not having them and mud spattering all over, it's a no brainer. Cheers from eastern Pa.
Im a truck driver - this looks great! I would put rubber down on the bottom of the box to keep things from sliding around while you are moving.
Looks amazing Neil! I think I saw a comment about rubber in the box and I second that for sure. A piece of stall mat would do wonders
Neil, the truck looks great and yes, the fenders serve an important purpose. Always good when you have great helpers. And for some reason, in this video, the girls look like they are getting taller. Have a great week, looking forward to next Sunday's video. I enjoying watching while having my morning coffee before going to church.
Thanks a lot Mark! Yes, taller every day it seems! :)
Neil - just started this video, and I see you are wearing what has become my favorite sweatshirt. You and I work on a lot of the same projects, so I need to suggest a modification (something Farm Focused needs to offer before shipping) - those cords on your hoodie are a pretty big risk, consider giving them the snip before you lean over a motor.
Now, I need to go browse your merch site and give my wife Christmas ideas :)
Wow, the trucks looks amazing! Great job Neil.
Wow that truck looks sharp! Love your work!
Personally I like it without the stripes (I think). But it’s your Major Award and your beaming smile says that!
Great job!
To borrow a line from an iconic Christmas holiday movie, ‘It’s a beaut, Neil. It’s a beaut.’!!! Great work on the truck. An excellent outcome - like most of what you do. The weekly post from D-D-DIY is a highlight of my week.
Thanks, appreciate that!
Wow that dump truck is coming together beautifully. That mud fenders look great on the dump truck now you need a set of mud flaps and flares for the front to finish off the look. For the tool box it looks like there's plenty of room for additional shelf or a small tool box
The wheels look awesome. For the tool box hangers, it might have been better to drill and tap the holes, since the chassis is so substantial. Great job mate. Good to see your Dad, tell him to get the Corvette out and take your Mom for a ride, blow the cobwebs out (and film it haha) Greetings from Down Under.
Looks awesome. You will be glad you installed those fenders after driving around on Indiana backroads for a while.
For sure!
It’s worth it all just to see. You giddy, like a kid in a candy store. Great job.
It's a work of art ,beautiful and functional. Great job.
Nice wheels!
Can’t wait to see the finished project, especially outside on the road and from the air. Be sure to include before and the after comparisons.
Will do!
SWEET TRUCK!!
That Dump truck looks so nice🤩
Great work!
The truck is really shaping up and can’t wait to see the wrap soon.
Thanks for another great edition
Neil the truck look to nice to use for work hehe. What a great helper you have and don't forget your supervisor too 😊
Those new tires look amazing! I like the aggressive rears and the wide float fronts. I’ll admit that I know NOTHING about dump trucks or the F750 - but I was surprised that the front brakes were drum brakes and not disks. Maybe that’s how all dump trucks are?
I totally agree about how the rims/tires can make the look of a vehicle. The American Racing rims I run in the summer on my little Ford Ranger make a huge difference in look compared to the stock steel rims I run during the winter.
Neil, so much to say sir! But I will be brief... You are the best on RUclips and your content is second to none..
I also ask you questions about asphalt millings and driveways.....
Appreciate it always Aaron! I sent an email about the millings.
@digdrivediy yes you did and loved
Sweet work truck!
The rear fenders look great mate, the whole truck looks awesome.. never understood why the USA doesn’t use rear fenders on trailers or trucks.
Looks fine to me, and it's your truck, and your money! The older you get, the more you don't care about anyone else's opinion!
Truck looks fantastic, can’t wait to see it completely finished, beautifully piece of equipment Neil, wish you the best with it. Thanks for the update, enjoyed watching.
Good morning Neil, the 750 is coming together nicely. I really like the look of it can't wait for the graphics
Well done. AGAIN. Pleasure watching a pro in action.
Dang Neil!! You have the biggest smile I’ve ever seen. That truck looks so amazing. Now you won’t want to drive it though. :)
😂
Looks great sir.... Merry Christmas, I enjoy your videos alot great stuff. I agree 100% on the fenders function and i think they look great...
That dump truck looks sharp and very cool looking
That Dump Truck looks seriously awesome! Good work Neil!! BTW I agree with the previous comment suggesting a rubber mat in that tool box!
I love the Little Truck. Since it’s first appearance on your channel.
I only see one problem with the tool box. You need the rubber mat so the chainsaw accessories won’t be sliding around.
Can’t wait to see finished product! Have a great week ahead! Y’all be Safe!
The truck looks great! Definitely one of the coolest f650 trucks ive ever seen. I cant wait to see the decals! Also i love how you include your family and friends! The twins in the toolbox was a great clip. Its a great video!
Thanks so much!
Looks great Neil!! Nothing better than the feeling of making your stuff nice 👍💯🇺🇸
You know what, I don't care one wit for dump trucks, but to see you so genuinely happy about what you are doing is fun to watch!! May you be granted many years of driving with it!!
Looks nice!!
Maybe put some sort of rubber mat in the toolbox and strips to keep your stuff from bouncing around in the box when you drive the truck.
For sure!
So fun to watch your enjoyment of your truck coming together. I think it looks awesome, but more than that, the smile it puts on your face is contagious and worth the watch anytime! I was smiling the whole last 6 minutes of the video watching you and the girls loving the improvements.
I got that style of fender on my rear wheels works great ....Truck looks awesome Neil nice job !
Glad to hear you like these. I’m hopeful they work well on here.
Looks like you had a blast this week. Good to have good helpers. Keep being great parents. Thanks for the awesome video.
Looks great Neal!! I think you got the correct combo.
Thanks Jeff!
Great video. I do the same thing when it comes to having people over. No better excuse to clean up then having a get together. Truck looks great.
Wow that looks great! I think the splash guards look really nice too honestly. They will certainly keep your truck that nice longer by eliminating rock chips and road spray.
Truck looks great Neil!! Love that your daughters helped out again.
Black sideboards maybe??
WOW! That's really looking good , Neil! I can't wait to see what it looks like with the graphics!
Dump truck coming along great. One suggestion for the box. Maybe a rubber mat to keep the saw from sliding?
like a kid at Christmas....we enjoy your enjoyment...
That looks awesome, thanks Neil for sharing your life with us.
That truck is looking fantastic! Can't wait to see it with graphics!
Dump Truck is looking fine! Beautiful
Love the truck! You always share info in real life, I hate drilling holes too😊
The truck looks awesome! One great thing about plastic fenders is they won't get dented. I've dealt with aluminum and steel fenders on trailers and they tend to get messed up quick.
I feel bad for Louie. Nice truck, mate.
Cheers 🇨🇦
He’s in line next!
Truck looks great Neil. Really like the new wheels and great choice on the tire size and style. Rear fenders also nice and very functional. And of course, how can you not love the way that new tool storage box looks. It is starting to look too good to get dirty so be careful.
Looks great. Thank You for sharing.
+1 on Wes too. You are both great guys!
Wow looks great Neil!!
I was told by a mechanic to always add a heavy coat of anti-seize between the steel hub and aluminum wheel, and again between the aluminum wheel mating surfaces. It’ll be much easier to take apart in the future!
