      Oh, YES. RUMI said this --> 700 years ago------------------smallest things are whirling & praying to Biggest things whirling / spinning.! How correct he was. Now a days , we know this as a matter of fact-----all are SPINNING-----each and every atom-----electrons spinning around protons/photons , planets spinning , galaxies spinning. This SPIN is no longer just a spiritual statement-------it is actually happening---NO QUESTION ABOUT THIS -------- THIS SPIN IS UNIVERSAL!!!

    I have do whirling almost 12 years. First few years it was more body balance work. Few years later I started to feel the higher energy. Now when I whirling I feel Divine and all is one. ; ) It's one kind very powerful dynamic meditation, suggest to everyone.

      @@papatyagulgurbetci9284 Today someone left comment to me and I read ur 3 years back comment again, very appreciated. When i lived in Egypt, blessly lived with some Muslim friends. One day i had a deep conversation with a sincere Muslim friend, we shared what we know about God/Divine, in the end she seriously told me I'm Muslim, I got so much joy and felt very very touched, because I come from Buddhism & Hinduism background. It made me realise, no matter what we call Him by different languages, in different cultures, God is the same one. It was a beautiful journey for both of us to know it. Islam/Sufism are the ways for me to know more about God, I don't know that much like a Qur'an hard study Muslim or/and a traditional Sufi, but I did learn a lot by Islam and Sufism, both of them made me have stronger faith and some clarity of God, and experienced "we are one".
      I like the way how I approache God, won't be divided into different religions and cultures. Thank you any way, let me think deeper, have a great day🙏

      @@papatyagulgurbetci9284 There are two kinds of understanding: with the mind, and with the soul. Muslims may have a deeper mental understanding of the whirling etc., but anyone whose heart and soul is owned by God immediately gets it. Blessings and love to you all.

    Sufi whirling is a meditation which originated among Sufis, and which is still practiced by the Sufi Dervishes of the Mevlevi order. It is a customary dance performed within the Sema, or worship ceremony, through which dervishes (also called semazens) aim to reach the source of all perfection, or kemal.

    Perfect. This clip shows one the whole ceremony of the Sema. start to finish (unlike the other clips out there that just want to focus on the whirling part). Beautiful production, highly recommend to anyone with even the slightest interest or curiosity in Rumi, the Sema, Mevlevi, Sufism or simply the 'whirling dervishes'...

    In the symbolism of the Sema ritual, the semazen's camel's hair hat (sikke) represents the tombstone of the ego; his wide, white skirt represents the ego's shroud. By removing his black cloak, he is spiritually reborn to the truth. At the beginning of the Sema, by holding his arms crosswise, the semazen appears to represent the number one, thus testifying to God's unity. While whirling, his arms are open: his right arm is directed to the sky, ready to receive God's beneficence;

    Sema is the stylized ceremony of remembering The Creator. Depending on the particular spiritual order e.g. Mehlevis or Shadliyyah, the sema may comprise of particular physical movements, chanting/recitations of Quranic verses, names of Allah etc but enriched throughout by meditative God-consciousness! Consider yourself fortunate then that the ceremony has brought tears to your eyes for something in your innermost recess has been awakened to and reminded of The Creator!

    or worship ceremony, through which dervishes (also called semazens) aim to reach the source of all perfection, or kemal. This is sought through abandoning one's "nafs", egos or personal desires, by listening to the music, focusing on God, and spinning one's body in repetitive circles, which has been seen as a symbolic imitation of planets in the Solar System orbiting the sun.

    his left hand, upon which his eyes are fastened, is turned toward the earth. The semazen conveys God's spiritual gift to those who are witnessing the Sema. Revolving from right to left around the heart, the semazen embraces all humanity with love. The human being has been created with love in order to love. Writing only Turkish dervish music this maybe two hour video appeared as one of the first options. If I am not mistaken this was a recording of this ceremony in Instabul either in 2012 or 2014, but for more than three years is not available. Do you know where I could find this audio (or video)?

      I do not have a perfect English but as I understand and as I can translate:(the beginning part of the video, blonde woman’s speech)
      Sema(whirling of dervishes) means reaching the truth by soaring with mind & love and forgetting nefs(there is no concrete translation for this word but generally means bad desires of human being). Sema means being nothing when you reach Hak(the One who Created everything, Creator, Allah, God) Sema also means being mature and then being a servant of Allah, God again. Sema has been described with these couple of sentences.
