This video inspired to finally go poke poling in the bay! I built my own poke pole months ago, but never was motivated to go (mostly went foraging or crabbing instead). I CAUGHT MY FIRST MONKEYFACE PRICKLEBACK! I was so happy and excited. Thanks so much for the tips and advice for poke poling! Homemade fresh unagi was the best! As a beginner fisher/forager/crabber/etc, I'm really enjoying your content. :)
Hello 👋 Nelson 😊 those tacos sure looked yummy, I’m enjoying all your videos and also learning all those good recipes 😋 thank You for sharing all of your fishing adventures!! Please say hello to Sally😊
I'm all for teaching! I found most of my fishing spots by a combination of the following: 1. Study the background of videos and pictures you see of other people fishing. Look for landmarks and triangulate from there. 2. Spend way more time than is seemingly sane looking at Google Maps with satellite view and street view. Mark those spots and download offline maps. Put on some hiking shoes and enjoy a hike at places you've never been before. 3. Make friends and ask around! You're bound to run into people who tell you to put in the time and explore instead of giving you coordinates, but some will give you a good general location to start your exploration. In the end, nothing is more satisfying than going on a little "treasure hunt" and finding spots you never imagined visiting. If you're looking for a place in general just start fishing for all sorts of species, the Half Moon Bay jetties are where I started. Easiest place to poke pole, but it's a long walk for fishing if tides aren't low. Slippery as well with waves that may be sketchy. Have fun and be safe out there! PS. Every video I post, I leave a little bit of a clue to help people find spots. I never censor landmarks. Up to you to recognize things and be resourceful!
