I don’t know anything about electric, but everything looks very neat. I am delighted that you have power and a working refrigerator!!! Great work Steve. Have a good week. 😊
Thank you, hope you have a great week to, I don’t matter if you know anything about the subject or not I just love chatting and interacting with you guys! 😊😊👍🏼 Thank you for commenting 😊
Your really cracking on. The electrics look neat and safe. Good to see the Fridge power up, it's always pleasing when it works 😊 Looking forward to the next Vlog 👍
Hi! I'd comment if I had some understanding of your wiring projects. Since I don't, I won't. I always look forward to your posts, Steve. Thanks for taking the time and making the effort to make them. Your boat is gonna be awesome!
Thank you Holly, I love people commenting and also interacting with everyone, I don’t mind if it’s off subject or not. 😊😊 So glad that you enjoy the videos as I love sharing my escapades with everyone 😊😊👍🏼

All looking good, Steve. I have a lot of catching up to do watching your vlogs. Been so busy working again Monday to Friday. What screws did you use for your hook-up socket? Self-tapping? Wondered why you used yellow cable. I thought that was for 110-volt systems, and the Artic (blue) for 230 volts. I too use a lot of boot-lace ferrules, even around the house! I’m obsessed with them. I’m not keen on using chock-blocks either. Like the idea of using a metal cable tray where exposed wires are running. Got me thinking now regards my electric cupboard wiring. May well look a lot neater than cable clips.
Yes for the electric box at the back I just used self tappers, the yellow cable is still arctic cable just yellow, it’s what would be used to run to the electric box at a wharf / mooring! It is still rated at 240 so all good. I just thought yellow would stand out more inside the boat 👍🏼👍🏼😊
Great to see the fridge light on. Does it go off when you shut the door 🚪😂😂. We’ve just tidy/rewired behind tv and radio area feels better fuses for every thing. 👍 NB Fiddlesticks ✋
Hiya. Great vids. Have you got a video where u change a 240v socket to a 12v socket with some USB ports on ur boat. Getting our boat in a few weeks and it only has 240v. Thanks. Gemma
Hi Gemma, I don’t have any how to videos no I’m sorry, but you can but sockets with usb points built in and then wire them the same as the original socket! (Make sure the power is off first 😊😊 Where about a are you based??
@@NarrowboatPreciousJet lol. Obviously. Wolverhampton way. I have done wiring many years ago so quite happy to do it but just need a video etc to show me
Hi mate, should the hook-up not be a plug 🔌 (male) rather than a socket? Considering it’ll be running into a live cable to the shoreline... you wouldn’t want a live male cable end.
I thought I had fitted the right plug 😂😂 you’ve got me thing I’ve brought the wrong plug now! 😂😂 I will check when I go to the boat and get back to you 😂😂👍🏼(thank you for pointing this out) lol 👍🏼👍🏼
He's right Steve. You have fitted what goes onto the marina box. You will soon find out anyway when you come to plug in as one end won't fit. Consider getting the flush fit type like on a caravan, lot neater. But you will have to cut a hole for it. Will be one of my jobs for winter. All coming along well though.
Ha ha ha good point but you don’t have to worry to much about ballast in a Narrowboat! When I’ve finished the fit out I will have to trim the boat slightly! Also there is a lot more weight to go into the back of the boat yet when I fit the rear cabin 😊👍🏼👍🏼
Hi Mark, there was 240v running through the boat when I brought it! I will at some point rewire the 240v though as I’m not happy with how it was done 👍🏼👍🏼😊
Hey Shaun, the 50mm cable was quite reasonable in price and any thing that is tinned is stupid expensive 😮😮 if I were going in salt water then tinned it would have to be throughout the boat 😊😊👍🏼
@@NarrowboatPreciousJet hi steve no I was just talking about the jumpers especially with thick cable min bend radiuses you buy them pre-done. Have a look a rs comp or maplins..

Lovely looking wiring board. Very neat and tidy work Steve. That's going to be a great boat live on and cruise in. Take very good care mate.
Thank you Will, with it being on display I wanted it as neat as I could 😊😊👍🏼
Great Video Steve , Wiring is really neat mate
Thank you David, still more wiring to come yet as I want the boat to be safe before I move aboard 👍🏼👍🏼😊
Hello Steve
Very good volg and very neat and tidy job and the speed you work at 😂😂😂👍👍👍👍
Thank you Thomas, I do have a speedy work ethic 😂🤣😂🤣👍🏼
Howdy Steve and further progress made with the electrics. Stay safe cheers Keith Melbourne Australia
Thank you Keith, you stay safe to my friend, what projects / hobby’s you got going over there?? 😊👍🏼

Holiday cabin on the coast sounds amazing 😊😊👍
I remember the days when your fridge was connected to your TV
Ha ha ha yes it was!! They also had the tv running on 240v through a small inverter but the tv was a 12v tv 😂😂😂👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Why aren’t you using a wago for the fridge connection?
Very good point, and I don’t know why I didn’t use them I have no answer! I can only put it down to age and being forgetful 😂😂👍🏼
@@NarrowboatPreciousJet lol. Your not that daft. After all you are rebuilding your boat.
Have you calculated the weight of all the wiring into the ballasting of your boat? 🙂

Rather than a wire get some tinned copper jumper links
