Likely that while she is singing in the video, the audio we hear is a synced studio recording? The big tell tale (besides the stairs thing) is that we can see how windy it is when they get on the roof. You would hear that wind noise in the mic she is holding.
Honestly I think this might truly be live. You get to the end of the video and her voice is giving out a little and gets slightly pitchy. And you can hear the wind a bit at a couple of points. That mic is dynamic and in theory should block SOME of the wind. You can hear the gang vocals faintly at the very end. Still maybe they redid the vox for just that super windy part and that’s why 🤷♂️.
Vocals are live, all those instruments are live, but there is a drum track while they get up to the roof. That is obvious as you can hear the difference when the live drums come in. But those vocals are legit live, 100%. There is likely some mixing after the fact. This is a brilliant video and I can't wait to see more like it.
Aww salt shed! Wonder if this was the day of the windy show that got cancelled? Thankful for the green room live stream and now this brilliantly planned video. Love you guys!
So is this is a Brooklyn rooftop?or Nashville? Or Chicago ? Or Lake Street Minneapolis? We don’t have a rooftop at our house (that you could stand on) but you can come play our backyard!
Yeah, I miss McDuck a lot. But Jay Webb, the guy in the video, sounds good--his altissimo (high register) is actually stronger than McDuck's--and Late Show Band trumpeter Jon Lampley is on the new album, "Good Together."
Go get that Grammy. Life is better with Lake Street Dive in it.
Grammys? Screw Grammys. THat's Beyonce's badge.
This brings me so much joy! Willing you that Grammy win!
Greatest Bass player of our time.
100%
@@jeffflood6733 Agree. And a cracking singer as well!!
@@wardnek-q2v …and whistler too.
@@Samuel-m4x6t ....and superlative songwriter too. If only she could walk on water!🤔
Bridget is the most amazing beautiful person , inside and out, I've ever met! ❤🎉
Ok Jay Webb, you didn't have to go THAT hard!!!! Hahaha killer!
Yes I did!!! Haha
That looked like SUCH a fun video to make :). Bridget, that bass riff will be in my head for months!
Great Song...I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT...PARTY ON, RACHEL & BAND
It's amazing that you were able to do this. It took technical skill to record everyone clearly while walking.
Congratulations on the Grammy nomination!!! So excited for you.
Thank you for making this.
Love it guys! What a vibe
Thanks for your fun!!!!
This video is a masterpiece
Awesome band ❤❤
One of my favorite bands! Can't wait to see them live
Wonderful! Absolutely GREAT!
Love the creativity!
"You shake my nerves and you rattle my brain." The sound of Lake Street Dive drives me insane. Party on Dive! ♥
I love this video! It is so fun and playful!!
I'm usually awe struck by Rachael's vocals, but this time it's something different: HOW ON EARTH DO YOU SING WHILE GOING UP FOUR FLIGHTS OF STAIRS????

@@ericvanvlandren8987 I did hear wind noise, though!

Great song, fantastic tune that sticks in your head, and a fun video to watch. Well done. I really enjoyed it. Thank you!
Bridget holding it all together with that bass!! 😃👍🎶
Saw her doing a solo gig last Saturday in London. Just awesome. Only Bridget could play for a full show just using a bass guitar(same one).
Great fun!
I'm loving this. And thanks for the captions.
Saw you at msg, with the wardrobe failure! I came all the way from the uk, now you are coming here and it is sold out!
Great song! Love that horn! Also Bridget has great legs. Go girl!
Lovely.
love it and y'all so much
LOVE THIS!!! You all are SO TALENTED!!!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽❤
So so creative and heart warming. Can’t wait to see you in London next January 😊😊😊

Lake Street Dive for President
This is at Chicago!! I wanted so bad to be there when you had your concert there!
That’s so great 😊👏🏻👏🏻
Fun Machine!
So much fun
Awesome!
Pied Piper Price!😀
LOVE this!!! Kudos to the sound tech who hooked up that LONG mic cable!
I love you guys and have since you posted that street video about six years ago.
Me too! Time flies! Good music stays!
He is going up stairs and does not change his tone of voice at any time and going up them requires twice as much effort as walking, impressive ❤
She !
Best Conga Line Eva ❤
so damn good
Lol I love you guys!
Goose Island!
Geile Inszenierungsidee! gratulor!
Shania Twain party for two vibes!!!!!
I love how SLOPPY this is! Seriously! None of this "Steadicam-Oner" stuff - the staging is as spontaneous as the performance. LOVE IT.
Where is the other end of that mic cable?! 😂😂 The poor grip that had to carry that upstairs backwards haha
They didn't have to be walking backwards necessarily. Not like they are also filming it, just need to be aware of positioning.
MORE COWBELL!!!

Looks like the Salt Shed music venue in Chicago. John Hancock Tower visible in the distance.
🤘(°__°)✌
I thought McDuck was back, but it’s a different trumpet player.
the horn players are also a part of this band called Hunter Tones. You should check them out, they're excellent.
Love, love, love LSD but having someone other than McDuck play trumpet on one of their tracks just guts me.

I’m worried about the mic cord.
Party on the roof in Tokyo.

What happened to her hubby….blonde haired guy?
Don't think they were ever married, and he's been out of the band for 3 years. Not sure why though
McDuck was an original member, but he left a few yrs ago, I think to spend more time with family. No one in the band has ever dated one another.
@@ElleGee77 He was the founder actually back in college. Lake Street is in his hometown.
