제가 물어봤던 원어민들은 둘다 같은 의미다, interchangeable , 그 이상의 확실한 답변은 없었습니다.
외국의 영어 포럼사이트에 가봐도 다들 주관적인 의견만 있지 그렇다할 해답이 없었지요.
그래서 나름 정리하기로는 to read books는 단순히 글자를 읽는것이 아니라 글을 읽고 이해하는 것까지 포함하는 개념적 의미로, reading books는 책의 이해를 포함 또는 포함하지 않든 책을 읽는 행위에 중점을 둔게 아닌가 싶었지요. 그리고 to read는 미래에도 지속적으로 독서를 할 것이라는 뉘앙스가 있고 reading books는 미래에도 계속 읽을거라는 뉘앙스는 to read만큼은 없구요.('현재 진행'이 가지는 일시성 때문 인지도 모르겠네요.) 말하자면 to read books에서 핵심어는 books이고 reading books에서 핵심어는 reading. 그냥 제 생각입니다.
to V , V ing 이 부분도 다뤄주시면 좋을거 같아요.

그렇다면 추가정보를 넣어보겠습니다.
A. : I like to play basketball when I feel like excercising. - 좋아보입니다. (여러 운동 중에서 골라야 한다면 농구를 선호하는 느낌)
B: I like playing basketball when I feel like excercising. 이것 역시 좋아보이구요. (농구 자체를 좋아하는 느낌)
사실 이 두 문장에서 뉘앙스를 분간 할 수 있을까요?
A가 B를 포함하는 의미일 수도 있고 B 역시 A를 포함하는 의미일 수도 있구요.
여러 운동중에서 골라야 한다면 농구를 선호하고 농구를 하는 행위를 좋아할 수도 있으니까요.
농구하는 걸 즐기기 때문에 여러 운동 중에서 골라야 한다면 농구를 선택했다고도 할 수 있고요.
즉 A 와 B가 모두 포함된 경우일때 to play, playing 무슨 말을 하는게 적확할까요.
제가 잘못 알고 있을지도 모릅니다. 의견을 구해봅니다.

to의 개념중에서 like 뒤에 to는 결과, ing의 개념중에서 like 뒤에 ing는 행위 그 자체
like to: 좋아한 결과가....
like ing: 좋아하는 행위자체가...
Would like: would땜에 현재 상황과 반대되는 사실을 기술할 때
너무 좋은 접근 감사드립니다~~ to 부정사를 썼을 때 여러 가지 중 선택을 한다는 느낌도 느껴지는 거 같아요!! 아마도 to 부정사의 성격때문인거 같습니다.
화자 자체가 구별해서 한 경우를 특정지어서 이야기 하는 경우를 빼고는 대체적으로 두 경우가 interchangeable 한거 같아요.
그런데 제가 보니 이상하게 들리고 원어민이라면 그렇게 절대로 쓰지 않는 경우가 있더라구요...
예를 들어 위에 주신 "농구 하다" 같은 경우는 누구나 할 수 있기 때문에 화자의 기분에 때라 아무거나 선택해서 써도 이상하게 들린다 할 수 없겠지만...
제가 한 아이의 엄마일때는 I like being a mom 이라고 합니다. 여기서 I like to be a mom 이라고 하는 경우는 없을 거 같아요.
하지만 제가 미혼이거나...아직 아이가 없을 때, 근데 아이를 좋아할 때는 확실히 I like to be a mom 이라고 하지요.
이렇게 현재 상황과 많이 어긋나는 경우가 아니라면 굳이 구분해서 쓰지 않아도 좋겠지만..ing 와 to 부정사 주는 느낌을 확실히 알고 가면 좋을 거 같아요.
써놓고 보니 동문서답을 한 거 같은데..ㅠㅠㅠ
결국엔 화자가 어떤 걸 강조하고 싶은 마음인지에 달려 있지 않을 까 합니다!!

음.. like to read books 와 ,like reading book 의 차이는 간단한거 아닌가요? 첫번째 like to read books 는 책을 읽고 싶다, 두번째 like reding book, 은 책 읽는것을 좋아한다. ... to 는 앞으로 , 그쪽 방향으로...즉, 아직 일어나지 않은 일을 나타내는 것이니까요. 직역하면 like to read book. - 책을 읽으려고 좋아해. = 책을 읽으려는 것을 좋아해 = 책을 읽고 싶어.
I like to ~ .. ~하려는거 좋아(하고싶어)
I like ~ ing ~ 하는거 좋아해.
I like 명사 명사를 좋아해.

두 경우 전부 방향성을 나타내는 to 입니다.
Look forward to `ing : 어떤 일 (ing) 에 (to) 고대하다
Be used to ing : 어떤 하고 있던 일 (ing) 에(to) 익숙해 지다.
굳이 우리 말로 옮겨 보자면 이 정도 느낌일텐데...이런 식이 더 번거롭다면 외우는 것도 방법이겠지요.

여기서 feel like 와 could use 의 차이점 이 좀 궁금합니다..
의미상 간절함의 차이인가요?
"Feel like"은 말 그대로 내가 ~하고 싶다, ~같은 느낌이 든다는 의미를 가지며, 간절함이나 필요성보다는 개인적인 욕구나 감정을 나타내는 정도이구요...
반면에 "could use"는 "좋겠다", "필요하다"의 뉘앙스를 가지고 있습니다. 뭔가를 원하는 것보다는 필요하다고 생각할 때 사용됩니다. 예를 들어, "I could use a cup of coffee"는 "커피 한 잔 좋겠다"라는 의미보다는 "커피가 필요하다"라는 뉘앙스 이구요..
간단히..."feel like"는 감정이나 개인적인 욕구를 나타내는 데 사용되고, "could use"는 필요성을 나타내는 데 사용됩니다.

어떻게 구분하지??
듣고 싶어 한는 거랑 좋아 할거다 를 구별해서 쓰는 것은 우리 말에서 그렇게 나타는 것이지 영어적 관점에서 would like to take dance classes 는 좋아 할거니까 듣고 싶어 할거다 이런 뉘앙스가 자연스럽데 다 담겨 있음.
굳이 좋아 할거다 그걸 강조해서 말하고 싶다면 would like 보다는 enjoy 나 다른 동사로 구분해서 쓰면 됨.

복습하면서 영작 숙제합니다. 참으로 많이 쓰는 것인데, 일상생활에서 늘 써야하는 것인데, 감없이 외워서 쓰니까 지금까지 막연히 느낌 없이 "회화"는 용감하게만 하라는 선생님들의 말만 듣고 써왔습니다. 그러나 감이 없는데 용감해지나요? 그러면 돈키호테 밖에는 안되지요. 너무나 확실하게 감을 잡아주시니 감사합니다. 작은 것이지만 작지 않고, 몇개지만 영어에서 많이쓰는 to부정사와 현재분사의 전체적인 감까지 또 느끼고 배웁니다. 대박나세요~~~~~~~~
