    As a Turk, I can say that; It is an indispensable instrument in marriages, weddings, feasts and celebrations in Turkey.

      The Chinese equivalent of this instrument called suona is also used in weddings and funerals. Funny how that works

      @ This is Taepyeongso, a Korean musical instrument. :). It is an instrument influenced by zurna.

    I am new to this instrument and am looking to buy one. Which key is the one you are playing tuned in? I cant find many videos explaining this on youtube

    It has the same origin as Taepyeongso(Saenap) in Korea, so the tone is similar.

    I apologise, but playing this woodwind instrument doesn't hold the same significance for us as Turkish/Kurdish ZURNA players as it does for you. when we play it, the emphasis for us lies in the vibrations of its sound. Simply blowing it doesn't suffice in our perspective; this is where the distinction lies. This is where our cultural differences converge. Thanks for all!

    zurna is not turkish. u spit in the faces of all the people who played the zurna before a turkic identity was even a thing, let alone before any turks colonized west asia. shame.

      Orgins is From Iran even Zurna or Surna is Persian Word Which Means joy Instrument
      Sur or Zur Means Joy and Nai Means Wind Instrument
