The first reason of drinking a glencairn is to put your pinky out of course.
Gotta sling that pinky
When in doubt, pinky out!
Guarantee if i sipped from all three glasses i wouldn’t tell a difference
A normal person wouldnt be able to
A bourbon professional can
It's mainly about the smell/vapors. The wider bottom allows a higher surface area for evaporation, and the narrow top concentrates those vapors as they come out of the glass. A large part of taste is smell, so the more concentrated vapors allow you to taste all the harder to taste flavors.
@@Beef_jerky_official are you a bourbon professional
@@byrdseed9213 im a mixologist
@@Beef_jerky_official so not a bourbon professional?
*Picks up bottle* Behold, my glass
Whiskey is meant to be drank straight from the bottle
You know your into whisky when you debate the best shape of glass to drink it from😂 i love this channel
I do that with my beers…🤔
Cheers!
He must vote for Biden
@@danamcwhite i'm British
I personally like to drink whiskey from disposable paper cups you’d bring on a picnic
Same. Or the red plastic cup if I available.
Puts whiskey into a glass cup: It's meh
Puts whiskey into a glass cup again: It's ok
Puts whiskey into another glass cup: Perfect
buddy has that stewie WH pronunciation
Any glass still works 😀
Yes that may be TJ is definitely appealing to the more hardcore whiskey connoisseurs I'm the kind of guy who like to whiskey with Mountain Dew and that's what Mountain Dew was intended to be mixed with however TJ here seems to prefer to do his reviews of high quality spirits that are good over ice or neat.
Even though I sometimes use very very high-end whiskey to mix with my Mountain dews I don't consider myself the same style of whiskey drinker as TJ we clearly have two very different approaches to drinking whiskey but that's what makes life fun the fact that two people aren't going to enjoy the same drink the same way
@@ZakkandtheJ what’s the best whiskey to mix with Mountain Dew?
@@bc0838 honestly you can't go wrong with pouring about a shots worth in the bottom of a glass and topping it off with some Mountain Dew I usually go with the original however I'm starting to go into some other options such as Mountain Dew friended energy drink but it still tastes like Mountain Dewey even though they took out the map to New branding I'm also planning on trying some stuff like Baja blast and them can do spark with it it's simply my favorite whiskey mixer other than cola as a matter of fact I think I prefer Mountain Dew over Cola when it comes to mixing it with whiskey
I cannot explain to myself why I love this man's videos.
"you got a little knob, you can hold your pinky up, you can swirl it around" 🤨📸
😂😂😂
I know this is off topic but I love to watch my dad make an old fashion. It’s so awesome
Bro I love how you know the lingo and fancy shmancy stuff yet present it as an every man. I truly do. Keep up the good work!
I’ve often thought you are like the American version of my dad and using the pinky at the first opportunity really confirmed that.
This is your glass and this is OUR glass
So glad I found this channel. Amazing content for anyone who appreciates whiskey drinking. 🥃✨️
Him saying whiskey reminds me of Brian and Stewie in Family Guy "why are you putting so much emphasis on the H". 🤣
Probably the only content creator to plug not only his product, but an alternative on Amazon that may be cheaper. You might have an affiliate link or something, but the transparency shows a lot!
Glencairns are designed to help people analyze whisky. The shape is extremely particular and designed to help you pick up the nose. The volume is designed to help you analyze the color. The slope is designed to help you appreciate and experience the body and legs of the whisky. There’s a lot more than meets the eye with these glasses
Nobody gas. Only snobs. 99% of us just want to drink to drink and have a good time, not analyze all the bullshit.
@@nunyabizness607 enjoying a drink in your own way is fine but theres no need to attack someone else for enjoying it differently
@@nathanfischer3551
Nobody is attacking anyone. Quit being so sensitive and looking for a reason to be offended. I simply meant that the average guy isn't drinking whiskey because he cares about the barrel it was kept in or the fruity notes. He isn't carrying around a special glass to swirl around and drink out of.
Not true, fine whiskeys exist for a reason. The “average” person buying a nice whiskey is buying to enjoy the experience. $600 to get drunk? Or to have fun?
@@nunyabizness607 I mean you straight up called whiskey enjoyers who minded their own business snobs and called their hobby bullshit so I think people would definitely feel disrespected
I watch those videos in awe to your tasting skills because whenever I try whisky all I can taste is a window cleaner.
Me, a teetotaller: "hmm, this is useful"
I personally like the Ball aluminum cups for my bourbon. The aluminum gets super cold and just makes things taste awesome.
Another nice aspect of the Glencairn is that it’s pretty easy to hand warm your whiskey if you choose to do so. Now that it’s winter, I prefer doing this most of the time.
This guy "you've got a little knob you can hold onto" 🤣 he's speaking from experience
I like how he puts the emphases on the h in whisky
It be kind of funny if he took a big sip of jack and coke and then just stared into the camera for 20 seconds while slowly taking more sips lol
Swirling it in the glass puts the whiskey over a much larger surface in a very thin film that allows for more evaporation and therefore more aroma.
Stourbridge hand cut lead crystal glasses- Stuarts. Made for scotch whisky 😊🎉
God damn it, I love the way you run your channel. Not trying to push a bunch of useless crap on us. You give us your honest opinion on things, leave a link in the description in case we want to get one and support you, and have your own store of branded merch. Keep up the good work sir!
subtleties and nuances
Glencairns are really nice and they are actually very affordable when compared to the whiskey you’ll be drinking out of them.
My wife literally just bought home this Glencairn glass yesterday it's awesome 👌
I have never thought about a drink as much as this guy.
This sounds crazy but some gibsons rare in royal red makes it taste like a good wine. I recommend trying it
I’ve heard the bottle concentrates it all quite well with no risk of the aroma escaping
Wide-mouth pint mason jar. It comes with its own lid, it's perfect.
I'm actually learning a lot from this channel, really only cared about what got me drunk before lol and I hate beer so this is great
Thank you for doing this video! I’ve been very curious about getting new glassware. 👍
I don’t drink but still love this guys content.
a clean one .
I love the way you say whiskey
At my wedding we drank pappy van winkle from plastic cups, still tasted great.
Can someone explain to me how it's tough to pick up flavors depending on the shape of the glass?
I understand smells, a smaller opening means more concentrated scent but as long as you swirling it around and the glass to get some air into it and open it up a bit, how does the shape of the glass impact flavor at all?
I've got an 8 oz X-men cup I drink everything out of. It works pretty well.
I end up using my sisters big ass Cabernet wine glasses more than my Glencairns.
More air = more oxygen = more nosing notes and aeration for flavor. And more opening to get my nose and mouth in.
Rocks glasses are the coolest, but for ice and cocktails as Bruise El said but I rarely use them anymore.
I feel like this video wasn’t for glasses but just to have an excuse to drink some whiskey
I use an old pickel jar
Glencairn for a general whiskey glass. But I do love my Norlan that my partner bought me. You get used to it, and getting very small sips if you want is very easy.
Glencairn is classic but I also like the Canadian Glencairn for rich and complex bourbons and whiskeys and the Perfect Dram is my favorite for small pours.
Me, who barely touches alcohol since uni and so has no idea about it, be like
"I like your words magic man"
I feel like brewzle is that one uncle that shows up to family gathering with a cooler of beer and some of the best barbecue you'll ever have
Glencairn for tasting. Libbey Duratuff 7 oz. Gibraltar for everyday sipping.
I picked up a glass at a liquor store that was marked as a bourbon glass. It has a wide base similar to a rock glass but a tulip shaped top similar to a Glencairn.
I’ve been sipping Whiskey from a low ball my whole career. Apparently I’ve been missing out for over 2 decades
I love getting my pinky up when nosing and tasting some whisky. 😁🥃
Thanks my friend
I want this guy to review cool whip too
Can you please do an experiment and see what happens if you use one of those hand mixing wands and aerated the whiskey before sipping it? I’m really curious what would happen
My tall paw patrol cup hits different. JD and Coke is ever more palatable 🐶🥃
I got a Brewzle from Willett distillery when we did a tour
Dollar store red off brand solo cup. Or blue if you're fancy.
I wish I had a pallete good enough to notices the different taste from different glasses
5 year old me picking which glass my orange juice should go in at dinner
I have a set of rocks glasses for my buddy and me. Just bought a glencarin glass to try it out. Makes me feel fancy lol
Video 4 of asking you to review droptine 12 point bourbon, it’s family owned (by my family) and it would be an honor
Good luck on your journey! Hopefully he considers this 😁
@@catwithshades7577 thank you! I’d be so cool if he did actually review it
Where is it located...?
@@Brewzle Droptine 12 Point Bourbon is the inaugural bourbon by Droptine Spirits. Droptine sources their bourbon from an undisclosed distillery. 12 Point is a double barrel product with the bourbon initially resting in new charred oak barrels before being transferred to brandy barrels that were sourced from the Russian River Valley near Sonoma. 12 Point currently is only available for purchase online.
The brandy influence is evident up front. The nose brings sweeter aromas full of rich molasses, vanilla, plum, and light syrup soaked raisins. The sip is rich and comprised of vanilla, oak, syrup, chocolate cake, and hints of dark grapes. The richness from the palate carries over into the finish, bringing with it a long lingering molasses, oak, chocolate frosting and hints of darker fruits.
@@Brewzle online primarily, we have it in some stores but depending on where you are in the US you may not be able to have it shipped to you because of stinky distributors >:|
I don’t drink at all but for some reason these videos are so entertaining to watch
Mine goes into a big bottle of coke I love the subtle plastic notes
Sippin it straight out the bottle is the best imo
I never knew different glasses were better for drinking whiskey. The more you know!
They aren't
I like how he lets you know that you can get a glencairn from anywhere before he tries to sell you one with his logo, that makes me want his more for some reason
Glenlivet 12 has been my go to neat whiskey for a minute now, I want to see your take on it
Drink from the glass you like to hold, whatever that is, it will make the experience better.
Tuath and Aged & Ore glass for me.
the bottle it comes in 😂
The bottle always worked fine for me.
Try the Norlan tumbler. Yes of course if you're smelling and tasting the Whiskey maybe for the first time then always the tulip glas. But daaam I love the tumbler from Norland.
The bottle. The bottle is the best glass. 😂
I love the rocks glass though
I usually sip from the bottle. Its best when cleaning catfish. Adds enjoyment to the task.
Got both a norn glass set and the glencairn.
I like the norn for drinking and enjoying a bourbon but the glencairn is better for that first taste and nose 😋.
This is all just personal preference mind ha.
Straight from the bottle. Always had the best flavor. Every. Single. Time
Can't wait for my Brewzle Glen!
It comes in a glass bottle! 😂
8 Oz mason jar is my favorite
This the equivalent to those specific pot smokers that can tell the strain of flower by the smell / taste
I prefer the Kentucky Bourbon Trail glass. I use glencairns for Scotch.
You sir have a Great job WHISKEY TASTER
Me who drinks it straight from the bottle: ah yes glasses
I mean the bottle is made out of glass so I guess that counts?
whichever glass you prefer
I've heard people call it a tulip glass and I purchased mine from my local big box liquor store
Right. A glass. Yep, definitely, uh, got one here somewhere.
Honestly it's preference. It also depends on the whiskey. I have all of these glasses. I enjoy using all of them.
As one who drinks from the bottle:
Same 😂
I'll take a shot glass, maybe not the best for the enjoying the flavors but great for enjoying the ethanol
Clean plug sir, clean plug
the glencairn is not only the best whisk(e)y glass, it’s also the best spirit tasting glass.
I'll stick with a rocks glass. It's the most comfortable to hold and my nose is very sensitive. I get all the aromas off it just fine. When I drink out of a Glencarin glass, all I smell is the alcohol. It over powers all of the whisky aromas.
Nothing beats a red solo cup.
My favorite whiskey glass is a wine glass... It is bulbous with a "turbo" design for aerating wines and brandies but is fantastic for whiskey, as well. 😉
I never taste the aromas or any of that just straight burn 🔥 definitely have to start getting better quality. I'd bet like me most people don't have a clue on what to choose when buying spirits. We need more professional alcoholics. Thanks so much great videos
