You guys might know this already, but here is what happens in the cum chalice dungeon: in most if not all souls games, to save processing power, far away enemies that are already loaded in have big chunks of frames of their animations skipped. In this dungeon, there is a church hunter enemy that happens to spawn in the path of a swinging guillotine - the guillotine hits him and causes damage, but because the frames of him getting hit are skipped since he is so far away, the animation of him getting knocked out of its path is never triggered, causing him to repeatedly take damage till he dies.
"Watch out! Frodo's got a tiny wooden stool!" This is vintage RKG-a simple gag about a Lord of the Rings WWE crossover turns into a 20 minutes banter goldmine. Couldn't stop laughing. :D
That moment when they're talking about Gollum going to Vietnam, the whole scene with him on the helicopter with the cigarette, on my mind started playing Fortunate Son, the next moment Rory starts singing it, I just freaking lost it, this guys are just the best
Maybe someone else said it already, but on the note of glitchy dungeons, it would be cool to see the boys take a look at some of the more interesting ones, like the ones with cut content, or the one with the giant room filled to the brim with enemies. Wouldn't take long and i'd love to see their reactions to the craziness :)
11:40 was absolutely devastating XD EDIT: Got to give my two pence on this one, Sam is absolutely the hardest hobbit. In Balin's tomb he fights goblins with a frying pan, he fights a giant spider and multiple orcs to save Frodo and even carries him up the side of a volcano.
Man the switch from the Beyblade to Finchy's old sword felt like it could fit right in in an anime or something. The main character's powerful weapon broken by a fearsome foe, followed by the hero drawing his reliable blade he hasn't used in ages.
Freakin hell... I thought Chalice dungeons was a weird choice for a full Retry series but MY god was I wrong! This has to be one of the best! Love You guys!!
I love that last episode you accidentally discovered the most popular Abhorrent Beast cheese (poison knives) without even realizing it... and then this episode, you spent half of it messing with molotovs and oil urns. Great stuff!
Love the LotR banter, slugs! As of writing this comment, I am dealing with a 2nd degree burn on my thumb so this has really helped cheer me up and keep my mind off it. :)
Gotta say Merry is easily harder than Frodo. Voluntarily fought in the biggest battle in the series and got an assist on the Witch King. Bare knuckle Sam would probably win out of all four hobbits though.
Kinda resent having to nerd out here a bit. Sam is the hardest, bar-none, Frodo is the second most-resilient, but he ain't winning any fights, Merry absolutely comes in at two for the stab on the goddamned Witch King, and I dunno, Pippin saves Faramir, I guess. So, bare-knuckle boxing hobbit rankings: #1 Sam, with a bullet #2 Meriadoc Brandybuck with his giant balls #3 Peregrine "Fool of a" Took because his dumb ass has at least stumbled into a drunken brawl #4 Frodo, arguably the most resilient hobbit of all, is way too kind to even take a swing at someone.
@@mikebooker2401 Pippin Took is a dandy, his punches would hurt him more than you. Frodo wrestled Gollum, didn't die both times, and got a finger gnawed off, I'd rate Frodo lasting longer than Pippin.
Fine, I'll be the one to say it: Vitus over Beastclaw. Vitus doesn't give a great first impression, what with the no beast or claw gimmicks, but he's there putting in the work, outliving the player while still pulling aggro. Viva la Vitus.
Fun fact, despite being arguably one of the hardest bosses in the game to fight, Abhorrent Beast is also one of the easiest to cheese. He has basically no poison resistance, so a single poison knife inflicts the status on him. That means, you can just spend 10 minutes backpedaling in a big circle while he slowly dies, occasionally throwing a poison knife in his direction. I wanna say you need 13 total to kill him on NG?
So the next series will be a Lord of the Rings UFC tournament, yeah? Or maybe Viscera Cleanup Detail in the CD? Incredible work on that last fight, Rory. It's always brilliant to see you get in the swing of things and start nailing the dodges and hits in quick succession. Here's to the death of that Abhorrent Arsehole!
Amongst the fellowship, Gandalf wins hands down. He is the equivalent of an Archangel or minor god in LOTR lore. Even though his order (Istari) were forbidden from matching sauron in “might or fear”, he still destroys each of the other eight no question. Amongst middle earth (discounting Sauron, and accounting for the lower power of the Istari) It’s probably either Galadriel or Glorfindel (book only character). Galadriel is the eldest Elf in middle earth, a descendant of the Noldor, and basically only beaten by Sauron in terms of raw power. Glorfindel beat a Balrog alone in his past life, and after his resurrection by the Valar he has even more powers.
God the fleshlight talk. I feel like Dan in the old PTT videos. I tune out for 2 minutes and it's about factory workers fitting in c*m filters. 10/10 though.
@@brodyupton9155 From what I hear one could actually have a pretty good time at those benches, unless of course you're a Welsh RUclips content creator. Then you're getting nothing.
And they're going to tussle with the Abhorrent Beast again in Lower Loran! And then they have to deal with the Loran Darkbeast, which is another pain the ass to deal with. Still, I foresee the Cursed chalice being a major roadblock for the slugs.
Pretty late to comment but books wise I think Boromir is probably the strongest in a fist fight. He's described as being very big and very strong, shovelling snow to create a path down a mountain with his bear hands. Legolas is very fast but elves aren't noted for skill in unarmed combat. Aragorn is taller than Boromir but is noted to be a lot slimmer so probably not as dangerous in terms of simply trading blows. Toe to toe "Scrapping" wise I think Boromir would take it as far as the fellowship are concerned, Gimli is also a contender but despite his stockiness being half as tall as Boromir would probably be too great a disadvantage to overcome when unarmed. The hobbits working together could probably topple any of the other members of the fellowship on their own, but that's hardly a fair matchup. Also I'm not sure where a lot of those LOTR lore facts came from, I think Rory might have been messing with you guys.
One of the things that bums me out is that you have to pay Sony every month just to use the online chalice dungeon searches. Back when I bought BB I remember hearing that it was easier to get the best items in the Chalice dungeons if you searched, but I don't have PS+ so us had to slog through solo. Not a huge deal but it just seems like something silly to put behind a monthly paywall.
Merry and Pippin were at the later, hardcore fights. Pippin(I think?) Was with that lady fighting Witch-King, and Merry was defending Gondor, wasn't he? I think? They're hard, gang. I couldn't go up against Witch-King, I know that.
In one of their Patreon updates they talked about not wanting to do it until they were able to all sit together and actually celebrate the big moments properly.
Just a heads up, these "false depth" or "reverse depth" dungeons aren't a "glitch" that someone generated on accident. People with hacked PS4's used an editor to make these dungeons and then shared them over the network with the glyph system. Using these dungeons to farm souls or top tier bloodgems is tantamount to just using a save editor.
Do you ever look at gems, runes or clothes when a boss is this tough? Seems like you could probably do more damage and take less if you tried to spec for a specific boss
My dear slugs.. Not sure if you are aware but I think Finchy is lvl 90-ish? Are you boyz aware that the meta lvl is 120/125? There is no shame in actually leveling-up (I know it's too late, you already shot every episode, but still)
i think this episode is further proof that rory doesnt level up his vitality and/or strength enough... idk why in every souls game he is always so underleveled, as if it isnt evident based on how much he struggles on many bosses that other players dont. Abhorrent Beast isnt supposed to take this long or be THIS hard
