This was the only Christmas music that played in my house growing up. The Phil Spector album...it was so worn when I got the bright idea to tape it to a cassette before it became unplayable..lol I still have that old tape with all of its slight skips from the album. I remember the year I found it on youtube..O was so happy but still played the cassette for many years to come haha
THE WORLD IS A LESSER PLACE WITH RONNIE GONE. A BEAUTIFUL LADY AND A BEAUTIFUL VOICE. ALWAYS SMILING. THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR TALENTS WITH US. RONNIE AND HER SISTER ESTELLE FACED ADVERSITY IN THEIR LIVES. RONNIE OVERCAME AND CARRIED ON. I HOPE SHE KNOWS THAT WE WILL MISS HER BUT WE SHALL NEVER FORGET HER. REST IN PEACE VERONICA 💔
These Christmas tracks are so timeless that they will be played throughout every holiday season in the United States for as long as humanity celebrates the holidays, and that's extraordinary. This is an ode to Phil Spector and his genius.
I love her. She brings back the early 60's girl group sound, teen angst, Phil Spector, the whole shebang.....and I love the earlier Letterman band formation, just the basics, but all killer players. I almost bought an ESP guitar when I saw the guitar player using one.
Well. Dating myself here, as a very young kid I saw The Ronettes sing Be My Baby at a Murray the K show at the Brooklyn Fox. Ronnie was a very young and exotic beauty, and the 3 of them were wearing very tight silver dresses as I recall. At one point she moved to the front of the stage, turned around, and let's just say she swung and sashayed and swiveled her stuff. All around me guys quite a bit older than me were whooping and hollering and even throwing hats in the air. Obviously, it all left quite an impression! :) Thanks Don!
Real public service here, Mr. Giller! It only now wandered into view for me, so sorry to be eleven months late. Just a couple years ahead of this 1987 appearance, which I missed then, Ronnie Spector's TV appearances were far less confident. Let me chide a couple of the commenters here just a bit. Look farther, folks. Ronnie Spector has been in an ever-upward victory over the Spector stuff for decades now! The evidence is all over RUclips. No lamentations are necessary.
@@dongiller Very late but wondering - do you know if Ronnie did another performance of Sleigh Ride on Letterman? and if there is a video of it ? I seem to recall her doing the song with an orchestra, w/the strings, like the Ronettes record - which got a HUGE wild response from the audience. I've never found a video of it but someone else I talked to also claimed memory of it, but maybe I'm just remembering things wrong.. .
@@katiezee2 I searched and searched but found no other performance of Ronnie Spector (or anyone else) performing “Sleigh Ride” besides this one. Perhaps it was on another show?
Man, this is great. RIP Ronnie. God bless you.
This and Darlene's appearances with Dave were always the way to celebrate Christmas. I miss those days.......

One of my earliest Christmas memories is The Ronettes playing on the car radio. That is THE Christmas album.
A beautiful talented gift from God who now entertains in heaven God bless everyone

R.I.P. I will always love you Ronny
Love you Ronnie
Gorgeous ❤
I can't give this enough Likes.
Dave always picked the right music.
Paul knew everybody who was anybody and got them on the show.
Amazing the greatest!
Absolutely a legend
What a sad shame marrying Phil Spector ended her career. Best female rock & roll voice ever.
Ronnie ❤ always knew how to add a twist to her songs
Ronnie was a little woman but what a big voice and a great entertainer. And she threw in big hair as an extra.
Gorgeous woman.
Back for Xmas 2021. Bless you all.
Electric energy just flowed up through her shoes whenever she stepped on a stage!
