1984 Weapons Meeting of the Nigerian Army
Major General Ibrahim Babangida has called for a serious re-appraisal of the Nigerian Army goals and requested the various Army Commanders at all levels to show greater sense of commitment and dedication to the training of every soldier under their command with a view to avoiding their past mistakes and improve upon their present standards.
He made this call in Ibadan at the end of the of the 2 Mechanized weapons meeting of the Nigerian Army which began on Sept. 10th 1984 - the aim of which was to prepare the best firers of the division against the bi-annual event of the Nigeria’s Army weapons meeting which usually take place in November each year.
