Im a clemson fan, and was at the game saturday. Unbelieveable. Props to notre dame tho, they are one hell of a team. Home field advantage definitely played a massive part in the game. Go Tigers!
Yea Fuller had separation for yards to come. Kizer couldnt get it to him. Go watch the 1on1 match up. Fuller was winning routes left and right, as most receivers do on Alexander, but Clemsons great D-line always causes the QB to throw bad throws.
Yep, I was sitting by the dugout where the Clemson locker room is, pretty much right infront of the west end zone where the game ended. Easily the best game I have been to in over a decade. The rain falling, the wet field, and the ending was beautiful.
That game was so fun. The REAL fans showed up and showed out. There were some nasty ND fans, but then again the majority of the fans were happy to be there.
+Chris Fairres lol that's not my point I'm saying we beat all these highly ranked teams and still nobody gives us respect. how mant titles does Oregon have and they get more respect than clemson.
I'm a ND fan and I don't give a shit, damn or fuck. ND played like hell in a Hurricane, with a second string QB, played without multiple starters because of injury and still managed to come back from a 21-3 score. Congrats to Clemson though, you earned it. I hope ND finally joins the ACC in all sports soon.
Proud to be a Clemson Tiger! Got interesting at the end but the defense stepped up and held on! Best CB and one of the best defenses in the nation, don't you forget it!
The first 2 point attempt, I called that a big mistake before it was run! Too many Fumbles. The Irish beat themselves that night. Was a great entertaining game though.
MrTron ND lost their starting qb, rb, te, ng, safety, and a player coming back from injury at a key receiver position. I think ND was much more hurt Oh and our qb was a key player and nose guard was a NFL prospect.
Notre Dame has more talent, which was demonstrated by their large advantage in total yardage. But Clemson is better-coached (both in terms of attention to detail and scheme). Clemson's offense didn't do much outside of the first two drives, but their defense made plays at the perfect times and their offense was pretty opportunistic. That, combined with the energy of the home crowd, allowed them to pull out the win. Good talent with great execution beats great talent with mediocre execution and this game was a great example of that.
+Jesse Ferguson Haha this is a joke right ? This game was won in the trenches and Clemson dominated on both sides of the line .Everybody said all week how good the lines are at ND well they got blown off the ball all night . Game should have been a blowout . We sat on the ball the whole 4th quarter up 21-3
+SportsJournal 52 Clemson's D won in the trenches because they were loading the box with safeties and ND was too stubborn to pass the ball heavily in the rain (partially because of all the drops when their receivers were WIDE OPEN) . Once ND committed themselves to a pass-heavy game Clemson couldn't stop them- they could only stop themselves. They had 3 wild turnovers (plus another turnover) and still had a chance for overtime, because they moved the ball like Clemson wasn't even there in the 4th. ND's defense only gave up one score on drives that started on the other side of midfield and even that drive started at the 36 yard line. NDs d-line outplayed Clemson's o-line for about 56 minutes in that game, but it didn't matter because they were sabotaged by their own special teams units. Clemson was more composed, fundamentally sound and had a superior scheme. ND's superior talent made it a thriller, but it wasn't enough for a win.
+Jesse Ferguson Man you ND fans are fucking delusional. I forgot Clemson didn't have any drops and they also didn't throw a interception in the endzone and they also didn't miss a fg . Did you watch the game or just check the box score ? The reason for ND having more total yards is simple . Clemson took advantage of good field position and didn't need to drive the whole length of the field like ND did besides the FG . 3 wild turnovers ? lol we just call that the Clemson defense . Both teams played in the rain but only one could force fumbles . Why is that ? Lol Clemson linebackers had blown assignments on the big gains in the 4th on simple crossing routes lets not act like they ran wild on our CBs lol Superior talent haha did fuller even make it for the game ? 1 catch on mackensie alexander
+SportsJournal 52 Clemson was trying to score the entire game (there was very little "sitting on the ball") and they could only do it when they had good field position provided by ND mistakes. Clemson couldn't even pick up first downs towards the end of the game, which would have prevented any comeback attempt from ND. The facts are simple, ND was not prepared for the first two drives of the game ( I already admitted that Clemson had better coaching) and the second and third quarters were about even between the two teams, then ND decided to put the game in the hands of their qb and as a result dominated the last quarter. Fuller was double teamed (with a safety over the top) and the rest of Clemson's defenders were in the box, once ND realized that they could beat that defense by throwing the ball more they became the dominant team, but it was too late.
+Jesse Ferguson at no point in that game was fuller double teamed. Watch the tape, Mackenzie Alexander shut him down 1v1. He had two catches and one was when Mackenzie wasn't on the field. You lost. Clemson is the better team. Move on already.
+Jack Hawkinson if the receiver runs his route correctly and runs into the db it is completely legal bc the receivers route was blocked. It is one of the hardest plays to call as an official
yeah its a slant concept but the design of that specific play is too take the outside backer out of the read which is just and easy toss and catch on the sorta wheel route
+Mario Chalmers Indeed turnovers is the story of the games for Notre Dame, having said that, we have to give credit to Clemson, Watson is an outstanding QB.
+Johnny Clemson I think it would be interesting to see what would happen if these teams played again. Turnovers definitely influenced this outcome. Some of it is due to Clemson, some to ND stupidity, some to the weather. It all played a factor. The interesting stat line is how many more yards ND had over Clemson. Again, maybe Clemson was just playing conservative since we kept turning it over. However, it leaves plenty of questions to be asked about what would happen in round 2. I kind of hope there is a rematch in the CFP.
Johnny Clemson I think Bama will win but I hope LSU will because it helps ND out more to boot Bama out. LSU would stay undefeated and Bama would then have two losses. As far as Clemson/FSU, this has to be the year you guys beat them. FSU won't even have Golson and are definitely not as talented as you guys. ND has a tough game vs Pitt this weekend. Pitt is having a very good season and lean on their defense. So, I expect it to be tough to score. Once we get past them, then we have that potential top 10 matchup with Stanford to end our season. If Stanford and us win out until we face off, that could be pretty much a play-in game for a playoff spot.
Johnny Clemson You really need to beat Florida State, I feel Clemson is like Oregon, always a good team but unable to win the important game in the end. I hope Clemson will be in the playoff.
+Orville Redenbacher ND left much to be had. 4 turnovers is more a self destruction in my opinion. ND finally responded but it was just a little too late. Credit Clemson for their crowd and taking a fast start. I bet ND wishes they could restart those first 5 minutes. Ultimately, that and the turnovers proved to be the difference.
+ndfaithful's_son it's not self destruction if the defense is literally ripping the ball out of NDs hands. Our kicker blew your return guy up. He played soccer until College. ND just got outplayed physically which has been a common theme for them in big games recently, I.e. Alabama in the national championship.
+ndfaithful's_son it's not self destruction if the defense is literally ripping the ball out of NDs hands. Our kicker blew your return guy up. He played soccer until College. ND just got outplayed physically which has been a common theme for them in big games recently, I.e. Alabama in the national championship.
TigerFan 18 Wait...Bama was three years ago. Only our seniors were even around for that. That example has no value for me anymore. That game is as old as Clemson choking against WVU. Find another example. I think ND was right there for a reason against Clemson.
+ndfaithful's_son No it's not.... No one on our team was around from that. It's way more relevant because the seniors are the leaders on your team, and if they are weak, the team is weak. You did hang around with Clemson due to conservative play calling, you're right. But you LOST because your Offense was bullied by our defense in the physical department. And you want more recent examples? FSU, ASU, USC, and UL and that was just last year. It's the same thing over and over with ND. Its been two weeks let's move on buddy.
+ndfaithful's_son You said ND fans weren't commenting about a video about them because they no longer cared about the ACC network coverage. I responded that ND fans don't care about the relevancy of the video to their team, showcased by their comments about Clemson before the game on completely unrelated videos on this channel, NC State being an example, but not a literal one. Was that just too hard for you to follow?
+Venom Roc I don't think either team is bad (by any means) as they have a lot of talent and have fought through adversity early. As far as Clemson goes, literally all teams left on their schedule have the potential to be a huge challenge. Such is the ACC. GT will play tough as always (especially after losing 2), BC has been playing a lot of defensive ball as of late. Not sure about Miami. NC State always plays hard against Clemson (and has looked a little better this year despite losses). Florida State is always a challenge, no matter who plays them. Syracuse
Eddie you don't what ur talking about.ND keeps the toughest schedule every season due to independent schedule.5 ACC games Stanford,USC,and 3 Big ten games every year refresh ur memory 2012 season ND didn't start season ranked in 25 and climbed to 1 due to high ranked schedule no other school has that deal ,plus ND really out played Clemson yesterday bunch of turnovers beat themselves and still came inches from OT playa.
I hate it when all he notre dame fans keep blaming the game on turnovers. Did u watch the game??? I wish I had a dollar for every time a clemon defender layed out a notre dame player. Kearse, Alexander, boulware, the d line, shit even the fucking kicker layed u guys out. Give the d some credit, they know how to fucking hit
+Thomas Pace Clemson played good hard football. ND made mistakes, more than turnovers. Play calls, penalties, dropped passes and yes, turnovers. I wonder what the OT would've looked like, had Kelly not gone for two early. :)
+JL Legend turnovers beat themselves? moron you didn't throw the ball into Clemons hands Clemson hit you then you dropped the ball then Clemson picked it up, And notre dames schedule is not the toughest...
+JL Legend they didn't escape, Clemson blew that 2pt conversion up in the trenches. I agree Notre dame shot themselves in the foot but give Clemson some credit, everyone doubted their d line and they outplayed NDs o line
Notre Dame lost two national championship in the past two years, because of bonehead coaching. First last year VS Florida State. Instead of kicking field goal, they went in fourth down. And it went down hill since then. This year against Clemson. Instead of kicking PAT to make the score 21-10. They went for two and failed. If the kick the PAT, they only have to kick PAT to send the game to overtime. And in that last TD 2 point conversion. Instead of passing, they made their tired quarterback run the ball in the very wet surface. What a comedy central this coaching staff is.
+Bob Hannah 4th quarter. Pass was in the end zone and Clemson defender pulled the jersey hard enough that even Herbstreit said something like "wow, they flat out missed that call". In the stands, it would be hard to see, but when the receiver falls backwards, you know something is up. ;)
We were flat out better than Clemson... a :50 drive for field goal and 2 pt conversion- if we convert or make a stop on EITHER we are in the playoff great season for the Irish
Tbh give notre dame credit acc fans I mean like they came back despite their 2nd string quarterback...plus they were away in one of the toughest crowds out there...finally Notre dame easily could of beat Clemson if it wasn't raining, yes "it's just rain," but nd isn't used to it so give them credit so I think they should be ranked 4 in the college football playoffs...Don't look at the bad, look at the good
Even with so many Turnovers, they were almost able to win this game. If it weren't for the bad rainy weather ND would have dominated this game. Clemson had luck in this game.
+EagleEye AVA Yeah and" IF" your aunt had balls she would be your uncle. Such a big word is "IF". I think Clemson played in the rainy weather as well ?
+Tim Henderson clemson had luck in this game, that's why they won. With that many turnovers from ND and still almost they manage to tie up the game(probably end up winning if they went OT). Kinda in the same situation with Alabama vs ole miss 2 weeks ago but they got shut down this week by Florida. But when you look at how those teams played, it shows that they are better team by winning those teams but with Clemson they had luck.
If youre the better team on a wet field, you're the better team on a dry field. Get out of here with that shit, how many times did Clemson fumble in the rain? Norte dame was muffin balls left and right, blaming the rain is a cry of the weak, after all it's a mans game
THIS game proves that OHIO STATE was the best big 10 team, but was not playing with a chip on its shoulder, and lost to sorry MIchigan State, but then destroyed Michigan the next week. Michigan destroyed Florida in the bowl game, and Ohio State spanked Notre Dame. I hate ALABAMA, and its fans, but I'm not sure Clemson can pull it off. I damn hope so. Ohio State would have beaten them had they made the playoffs... Oh well...
ND has a habit of playing nobody and always worms into the top 10. They played a good school in the top 20 and look at the results. They lost. ND always gets ranked? Why? Tradition? That excuse doesn't fly anymore. As Ric Flair would say "To be the man you gotta beat the man, Wooo! "
We should've beat FLA ST. and we stuffed Georgia techs "amazing" offense also we r missing our starting running back our quarterback a free safety and a defensive lineman pretty good if we made a 4th quarter comeback away in the rain at one of the toughest places to play I don't think we r that overrated
+Spawn Nade Should have, would have, could have. When ND plays quality teams as they did in the past on a consistent basis. ND needs to join a conference like BIG 10 , ACC or SEC. NOT the MAC or Conference USA.
Ok Clemson fans when u beat FLA ST. and make the playoffs I'll admit that u were the best team in the country this year I wish u a good season as always peace out
Clemson is the original Death Valley. LSU was dubbed "Deaf Valley" in the 50's I believe, but at some point it was mispronounced as Death Valley, and that is why LSU is called Death Valley because of a mispronunciation. Clemson was dubbed Death Valley about 10-15 years before LSU was even dubbed Deaf Valley.
+jjdn8 overrated i would have used for teams like Auburn, USC, Georgia & Florida state. Expectations were high and they all have 2 or more losses. Nobody expected Notre Dame to be in the playoff conversation right now
+michael tocco Lol I see that I am not the only Irish fan thinking what could have been in this game lol. Time to move on. ND wins out and Clemson does the same...we could possibly get another crack at them and this time it won't be in a monsoon at Death Valley lol
+p4p You are damn right my friend. Baylor has a 6'8" 420lb tight end who is very athletic. I would love to see him absolutely crush any Notre Damsel defensive player.
Im a clemson fan, and was at the game saturday. Unbelieveable. Props to notre dame tho, they are one hell of a team. Home field advantage definitely played a massive part in the game. Go Tigers!
Re watching this after 4 years and watching them smack us in the playoffs crushes me
Okay its 2019 and i still come back to this video
2:47 - Same play Clemson would use to win the 2016 National Championship. I wonder if the coaches wrote it down?
Mackenzie Alexander DOMINATED Will Fuller, best cb in the nation.
+Magruder Tims Too bad he has a small cock #OnTopSoon
+brady clark Obvious 12 year old is obvious
Yea Fuller had separation for yards to come. Kizer couldnt get it to him. Go watch the 1on1 match up. Fuller was winning routes left and right, as most receivers do on Alexander, but Clemsons great D-line always causes the QB to throw bad throws.
I was in the stands during this one. Easily the most live game in my 15+ years of going to Death Valley.
There were some nasty ND fans, but then again the majority of the fans were happy to be there.
haters better be quite after beating Auburn, oklahoma, LSU, Georgia, ohiostate, and notre dame in the past few years.
You'll beat us this year
+Chris Fairres lol that's not my point I'm saying we beat all these highly ranked teams and still nobody gives us respect. how mant titles does Oregon have and they get more respect than clemson.
Thunder 2823 ✊✊✊ They Had My Respect Since 2010 But I'm Just A Nobody
+Chris Fairres Obviously his point goes straight over your head. Go back to watching Saturday Cartoons and leave the football talk to the big boys.
+kalebpost20 There's no way you're a Florida State fan... They're usually such assholes.
Danny Kanell said Clemson is in his final 4 for the CFP. Finally somebody from ESPN says something good about Clemson
And he’s fired now 😕
I'm a ND fan and I don't give a shit, damn or fuck. This was the game Clemson made its way into the playoff. Had they not won this game it would’ve been a different story.
Proud to be a Clemson Tiger! Got interesting at the end but the defense stepped up and held on! Best CB and one of the best defenses in the nation, don't you forget it!
Clemson started off good this season😎😎🙋
The first 2 point attempt, I called that a big mistake before it was run! Too many Fumbles. The Irish beat themselves that night. Was a great entertaining game though.
Time for the rematch! Who ya'll got?
I'm a tiger fan so #gotigers
Why you no give it prosice on last play
Go tigers!!!!
Go tigers baby!!!! 4-0
Let's go tigers I was at the game it was rockin.
great game
How Good Are The Notre Dame Fighting Irish?
+MegaGiants89 Who knows? I saw a ton of turnovers by Notre Dame and then a quick comeback in the 4th.
+Chris Fairres
Clemson was missing almost that many. Best WR, a starting DT, a starting LB, and a starting OL.
+Chris Fairres What an apologist. injuries happen in football and it's up to the rest to step to the plate when called upon.
+Chris Fairres I am not an Ohio State fan but they lost the starting QB last year and win a National Championship. Just an example
MrTron ND lost their starting qb, rb, te, ng, safety, and a player coming back from injury at a key receiver position. I think ND was much more hurt Oh and our qb was a key player and nose guard was a NFL prospect.
why Notre dame did 2pt cv on 21-3?? worst call.
Exactly that was stupid
+Andy Lee Because it would have made the game a two score and a field goal rather than 3 touchdowns.
same thing happened against northwestern we lost bcz kelly went for 2 for no reason.
I know if they didn't do that the could've won
+Carson Reidy But they did. And didn't
Was an amazing game not a fan of either team but of course I watched it being a fan of the sport. #FireAlGolden
good game.. the rain caused lots of issues.. I'm here for that big hit from the kicker..shit was hilarious!!!

GO CLEMSON
good game
2:47 Isn't this "pick" play illegal just like it was against FSU?

Its called a slant. The corner stayed with the outside receiver, and the slot guy was open. no pick.
yeah its a slant concept but the design of that specific play is too take the outside backer out of the read which is just and easy toss and catch on the sorta wheel route
but there was no contact, therefore making it not a pick. it confuses the defense like every other play. It doesnt use offensive pass interference.
damn I hate my fighting Irish lost but to many turn overs that were potential touchdowns

One of greatest games I've ever been to. I was soaking wet for 12 hours. Go Tigers
I think Clemson won the game but ND fought back. #GOTIGERS
A win is a win, especially against the #6 ranked team, but I would've liked to see Clemson put that game away sooner.

clemson is the best
Lots of mistakes for ND. Clemson played well, and deserves the win. The missed pass interference call really pissed me off though. :P GO IRISH!

Notre Dames loss doesn’t seem so bad now.....
+EagleEye AVA
The bad rainy weather favored ND.
+Grayson Elder congrats man Clemson wins, glad ND play that horrible for them to barely win this game
Oh well...
@t 1:19 Dabbin on they ass!!!
+Spawn Nade GT lost to Duke and UNC now and you didn't make a comeback. Should've, could've, would've.
+Spawn Nade "you stuffed GT"? I think you should call Duke and UNC
Ok Clemson fans when u beat FLA ST. and make the playoffs I'll admit that u were the best team in the country this year I wish u a good season as always peace out
A$AP Rocky
I thought Death Valley was LSU?
Clemson is the original Death Valley. LSU was dubbed "Deaf Valley" in the 50's I believe, but at some point it was mispronounced as Death Valley, and that is why LSU is called Death Valley because of a mispronunciation. Clemson was dubbed Death Valley about 10-15 years before LSU was even dubbed Deaf Valley.
+Tygamasta17 OK thanks :)
notre Dame would've won if Notre Dame had there first string quarterback.
honestly deshone Kizer is probably better especially after he gets experience from this season
Nahh Kizer was a dog. Its just the receivers and the O line sucked.
Yeah and it would have been a blow out if we had our #1 receiver. See how easy making excuses is?
xXFaZe_swegecoops_w33d420Xx Notre Dame was missing 6 Starters dude including there quarterback and starting running back.
+mike LGG4 white
Hey, aren't you the dude with the twerking playlists?
Notre Dame overrated again. What's new?
9-1 and ranked #4 in the country is overrated? Interesting
+Mark Hayes ppl are fucking dumb they base teams off being overrated and not talent thats what annoys me about talking football with ppl
+jjdn8 yea i don't understand how a team thats 9-1 could be overrated and the only loss is by 2 points to the number 1 team in the Country
+jjdn8 overrated i would have used for teams like Auburn, USC, Georgia & Florida state. Expectations were high and they all have 2 or more losses. Nobody expected Notre Dame to be in the playoff conversation right now
+Mark Hayes yea i dont think notre dame is overrated
If Kelly wouldn't of went for the two point conversion early
Notre Dame would be 8-0 and Clemson would be 7-1.
+michael tocco Lol I see that I am not the only Irish fan thinking what could have been in this game lol. Time to move on. ND wins out and Clemson does the same...we could possibly get another crack at them and this time it won't be in a monsoon at Death Valley lol
come on irsh you can do this forget about stupid clemson you can do it!!!!!!!!!
Notre Lame would lose by 50 to Baylor.
lol
Notre Shame lol or Notre Sham
+p4p You are damn right my friend. Baylor has a 6'8" 420lb tight end who is very athletic. I would love to see him absolutely crush any Notre Damsel defensive player.
Notre Shame lol
+Daniel Angeles We meet again :)
ndfaithful's_son Unfortunately yes we do
Go tigers
Daniel Angeles No unfortunately :)
ndfaithful's_son Notre Shame
Go fighting irish
overrated as usual.
+Jason Murdoch Spoken too early....ND has a shot at revenge and this time it won't be a monsoon game at Death Valley.
+Jason Murdoch And I noticed you are a Georgia fan...my condolences on your disappointing season lol.
ndfaithful's_son Don't worry, by season's end you'll be right there with us.
Jason Murdoch Well it better hurry up because ND only has four games left.
+Jason Murdoch You SEC fans are hilarious hahaha
go clemson
Lots of mistakes for ND. Clemson played well, and deserves the win. The missed pass interference call really pissed me off though. :P GO IRISH!
Irish still#1 in my book especially the way they kept fighting go Irish
couldn't have said it better myself. go irish!
Yes sir now let finished this season strong go Irish beat navy
