MetalJesusRocks thanks for this video. Been waiting snce a looong time
Have you played the Star Ocean games on the PSP? Wonderful, wonderful RPGs! :D
No Dissidia... Really?!
try heatseeker on ps2, its much better
A bit disapointed to see Juiced 2 and Splitsecond mentioned since you mentioned them in your 200 psp Collection video.
I still got my old psp 1k. Maybe 10yrs ago I packed a bunch of emulators onto it that I still play today. It truly was ahead of its time
@Iletigent i literally jist slot in my micro sd that slots into my pro stick duo adapter into my phone and that works good too! Of course you need an app that unzips files as well
@@Jay-vr1mz
And of course you need to reform/format that sd card first before you insert any games to your psp or else it will not recognize it.
You just simply format the sd card and all the available psp options will appear automatically after formatting.
@@Jay-vr1mz
And of course you need to reform/format that sd card first before you insert any games to your psp or else it will not recognize it.
You just simply format the sd card INSIDE THE PSP ITSELF and all the available psp options will appear automatically after formatting.
That information cant be given out but you can search up psp game download and it should pop up.
@@o1h823 literally just google the name of the game followed by iso download. avoid .exe .apk. go for .iso or .zip
The psp has so many great games. I love playing outrun 2006 coast to coast as well as need for speed carbon: own the city 🌃
Radical Reggie heck yeah!
Love your vids Reggie
🤜💥🤛
Prices will go up now
Silver Snake then you better buy them before they get too high
Lord of arcana
one of the best memories of my childhood, the soundtracks are so amazing, especially the music when you were choosing the missions. This game introduced me to this genre, the epic bosses, the fact that you can have better things by beating harder enemys, the frustration of not having enough potions, hyperpotions or elixirs and lose against the enemy that has the core you need, everything makes this game a great one, a true gem
Best rpg game
I love how you have to warn people about nudity in a game where you kill everything. Good video btw.
Only in America.
im fine with blood but i dont really want to see those explicit things
personally nudity is just disgusting but blood and guts gets me hot and bothered
I was going to make the exact same comment...
nudity in video games is unnecessary, idk why but they gross me out. if i'm feeling horny i watch porn instead
Purists will reel from my heresy, but the best thing about PSP games is that they scale so well. Use an emulator to bump up the resolution etc and you often get something that looks marvelous.
I've watched some vids showing the PPSSPP emulator running in higher resolutions, and it's very impressive stuff! Keeping the PSP library live and well
I know exactly what you're talking about! I was using one to play on my PC and man is it gorgeous.
Very true. On my V30 I have everything running at 5X resolution with everything maxed out and hardly get frame drops on most games.
Tony Hawk Project 8 in particular looks beautiful.
It's actually really sad, that almost all psp games are better being played on big screen at home, rather on small one elsewere.
So true I enjoy my emulators more than the real thing lol
I loved my PSP before my house got robbed by losers 😫
That's how I lost my PS2!!!!!! I'm sorry that happened to you man 😭😭😭🤬🤬. But I've since bought myself a secondhand PSP which is why I'm here 😃😄. Still miss my PS2 though. Great times!
@@justadjustor8993 just buy ps2, it's very cheap
I can relate to u bro . My house got robbed my ps2 all my games ,💿, movies gone . Sorry it happened to you 😔
I can also relate. PSP 2000 disappeared when I let a family member stay at mine after he was kicked out of his family house. I’ve since replaced it with the 3000 model & I also picked up broken PSP GO for next to nothing, which I repaired & plan on modding it 🎮
@@simonochana3189 how you been with that??,did you repaired it?
psp is the goat handheld tbh
Ps vita had a good run also-
@@hastega.Only when it was modded.
I keep going back to Gladiator begins on PSP. Runs well on my RG351v.
I was just playing Split/Second on my Xbox One last week, I had no idea it had a PSP port! I was really enjoying the time I put into it. Same goes for Dante's Inferno, though I played that one way back when it came out. Shame we never got the Purgatory game, I would've loved to see how they adapted it!
Couldn't agree more on Dante's Inferno. Very few games have captured Hell as well as that game. The music and imagery alone is reason enough to play through it. A real shame that Visceral Games is defunct now. I also recommend checking out the animated movie about Dante based on the game.
Such a great little system. Excellent list of games man!
JIMMMMYYYYY!!!
@Dom Trussardi why ps3 fat? Slim can do the same shit lol
@@brianbadonde9251 PS3 fat has 100% compatibility with PS2 games, slim emulates it using the PS2 Classics wrapper and it's more like 60%, with like 40% running as intended
It is crazy to look back to 04/05 and realize how powerful and ahead of it's time the PSP was. I thought the concept was cool and the games looked pretty good but you had to actually play one to truly appreciate it. The jump from DS to the PSP in terms of graphics and audio was quite a large one. It was literally like going from your old PS1 to your brand new PS2. The idea of an analog stick and current gen console quality in your hands was hard to wrap my head around at the time. I quickly took it for granted once I got used to it. It is fun looking back and remembering just how awesome the PSP was. DS did end up redeeming itself with a ton of quality and unique titles but the first couple years were kind of tough. I think some PSP games still stand up well to the 3DS. It is a shame the Vita failed so mightily.
The first time I ever saw a PSP my mind was BLOWN. The Switch to me had incredible graphics for a handheld but it didn't shock me as much as the PSP cause the PSP was the first to have graphics of that quality for a handheld.
The PSP is my favorite handheld. It has a lot of games that I now enjoy and love. Rpg/jrpg series like persona, final fantasy, monster hunter etc, and other genre as well. I have so many games that I want to play on the psp.
It's amazing what you can do, and how many ways you can play with the Psp, kinda revolutionary for a 2004 console. Also there's a Component-To-Hdmi converter which eases up connectivity with modern tvs
I play 200 + psp games in hdmi
@@DennisAlexioAndyHug cool story bro!!! Want a cookie?
I fixed my PSP a week ago, found a vintage game store in the area and bought 5 used games just under $20. PSP is still and yes, STILL, awesome!
I've been rewatching ur old psp hidden gems video days a go, im so glad u decided to make more :D thanks mjr!!
I work at a video game store, and every time you post videos like this we get a bunch of orders for games that you talk about! It's pretty cool to see the connections :)
Two analogs, OLED screen, 250gb microSD card, psx support.
Vita is good.
Markus Helf it's your opinion and I respect your preference. For me it's the OLED because of portability. I also have a glacier white slim. I'll probably buy a pstv and a 4tb hdd in the future as they are so cheap in my area.
But you still spend a pretty penny for a 3.60 vita :/
Thing about the Vita is it can't connect to a TV like the original PSP slim 2000/3000. Adrenaline is good on vita, but some games like Smackdown vs raw will crash throughout the story and you cant progress further. Sony fucked everyone not adding a micro hdmi port to the Vita
Sterling20073 there's the cheap pstv you know?
TheSlackassCrew it doesn't matter anymore because theflow will release a henkaku temp exploit for 3.67 and 3.68 firmware.
Jesus I gotta say we don't have much in common with preferred game genres but your content is entertaining enough to keep me subscribed n notified
I‘m really interested in old games and retro consoles since I watched your videos. The kind of your channel is funny and fascinating, thank you! :)
Great video Jason. Always look foward to your hidden gems videos
Split/Second is also very awesome on the consoles.
I Love the atmosphere of Dante's Inferno. It's Dark and with an interesting story.
I love my PSPgo... Keep the good work Metal Jesus! I appreciate your videos.
A hug from Brazil!
Finally a PSP video. I have been waiting for a long time. Thanks
Dude!!! I just got a PSP 3000 again on Monday! I’m so happy to find these videos!
Bro you could just download ppsspp and play the games for free
Great video, MJR. This was a great list.
Just resurrected my old PSP and had to see this video again! Thank you Metal Jesus
Great video as always. You inspired me to start a ps4 collection which I recently bought. Keep making great content dude
Thanks for the recommendation. I ended up going for Blade Dancer : Lineage of Light
I got 2 PSP’s after watching your videos this year and I’m loving collecting for it. It’s super cheap and there are some great games for it. I love the mini Atari scene in the intro! 👍
it was super cheap :p now the prices will go up again.
Definitely seeing some games' used prices start to creep back up!
Loved it! I thought I was going to yawn and get bored, but found myself only owning 2 of the featured gems. I still have to view your other psp gems, but to this day, having owned many systems, including the Jaguar and even cdi, and the psp is still my favorite!!
It’s cool how you change the intro. Keeps us on our toes.
Awesome video! Very informative I'm just getting into the PSP, late I know, and I love this handheld. Also the PSP has some exclusive and very decent Yu Gi Oh games the Tag Force Series; what they lack in story or dialogue they make up for thousands of cards and ways in you can customize your deck and take out opponents.
There's an Ace Combat X2, called Joint Assault here in NA. It has a co-op mode and a few interesting split missions where half your squadron does objectives on one map to help the other half in real time on another map.
Man I played almost all the games in this list! Never really knew because I was still a kid back then, but still remembered the game play! Nice list!
There just something comedic about you that makes me laugh every time I pop in to view one of your videos 😂😂 keep up the good work metal jesus! I enjoy your content.
Hello white, goatee'd, game enthusiast man, I love the PSP as much as i love your videos my friend.
Finally someone talked about Lord of Arcana
Thank you very much!! A year ago I saw Ace Combat X in the store without a covers, after this video I bought it (three days ago) .. and it was worth it. It is so excelent game, and there is my favorite fighter F-16. And there are some little take off missions. I remember flight simulator on PC, but it was so lonely. . after destroying all enemies through missions , there were no narration, no story, no congratulations. This is one truly deep and great psp game which I would never pick if not your video. thanks!!
I'm gonna be ordering mine tomorrow!! I found your other PSP videos about a month ago (and subbed, 'cause I realized I'm an adult with her own money, so I can expand my collection the way I've always wanted to growing up. Having someone point me towards hidden gems is nice ^____^). Even though I've always been a PlayStation girl, I never got a chance to try the Sony handhelds except for the PSP--once--on a flight to Iceland. I absolutely fell in love with the system, but I never thought to get one for myself...until now! Thank you for reminding me how amazing it is
First you turned water into wine. Now, you turned my disappointment on PSP into CURIOSITY.
JESUS CHRIST
Don’t use my lord’s name in vain ever AGAIN!
with the PSPGo you can dock it out to the TV, and sync a PS3 controller to it, so it has that advantage over the original form.
But, you're kind of limited for games, so I homebrewed mine and use it mainly as an emulator.
Thank you for the list, I remember split/second, I think that blur and motorstorm apocalypse were my fav racing games last gen, and because of this video i found out that split/second is BC on Xbox One, I can't wait for a sale to buy it. Thank You!
Love seeing psp love, one of my favorite systems, i actually just started playing juiced 2 again, it is a great hidden gem
Phantasy Star Portable 2 is by far my favorite psp game, did anybody else play this gem also?
Taylor Guillory I’m with you on psp2 I still have it I just have to get a new battery for my psp it only stays charged for two hours
I like that game too,
@Sabitri Sahu 3rd birthday is a good shooter but whenever I see this game I must say that story just sucks in this game.
Agree I like PSP2 and PSP2I
I played both, but never finished... PSPortable has me stuck on the final boss (LOTS OF PHASES), while PSPortable 2 has me stuck on that horrible escort mission
Did not know Split second had a PSP version. That game was great but it was missing more of its story
Hey man you have a new subscriber. Came across your game room vids and Im super jelly i have a small coolection but what you are doing is a dream to me. Keep it up and Im looking forward to more gaming vids.
Great video as always. PSP has great jewels in its catalog, but among those that you mention I'm staying with Tenchu, a franchise that has me crazy! A greeting from Spain!
" Did someone says hidden GEM$?!?! "
I’ve been waiting for this video. Good timing with Sony’s statement about portable gaming the other day!
Another great video! I've never played a PSP and likely never will (not that i'd be against it in any way!), but still this video was enthralling for me. Something about the way MJ breaks it all down and includes great gameplay footage of exactly what he's talking about is just a cut above. Plus, it feels like having a gamer-friend explaining it to you, ya know? like that there's a little genuine exuberance about the titles, etc.
Bravo! Please keep making these amazing videos
Thanks so much for the kind words! I kinda need those today :)
i'm sorry to hear you're feeling blue
Your channel has always touched my heart. I can only imagine the level of effort and commitment it must take to do what you do: consistently generating excellent content and emotionally engaging with the subject material (i love games too!). Whenever i watch your vids, I can feel the love coming through the screen
You've made a major difference in my life, just from watching your videos. it's great to feel like there are kindred spirits out there who love games which can be a lonely pursuit. I have learned so much about everything videogamey from you, and I will always be grateful!
I wish upon you the best kinds of happiness, fortune, and success. For every rare commenter like me, I bet there are ten people who would never post a comment who feel the exact same way. We all love you and I hope you know you are loved by us!
PS: I've wanted to come see you & crew do the panel at the PGRE, but my ex-gf is involved with the expo and i'm still afraid to see her there. I should just be courageous and go.
Doubt u see this 2 years later but u get a like and sub for not only awesome content but ACTUALLY PUTTING THE GAMES LIST IN DESCRIPTION! Love the content sir!
Thanks for doing these videos. It's very sad what happened with the PSP in the US. The truth is that Sony created it from the very beginning as the dream console for handheld gamers of old, who wanted high quality games on the go, instead of insulting ports and overly-simplified and short titles. But most people completely missed that, by never even checking it out. Nintendo did the usual with the DS and most gamers just thought Sony did the same thing on a lower scale. (way off). For years, many friends of mine thought the PSP was a weak version of a Playstation 1, and so didn't bother with it.
I think it would be cool if you actually found some hidden gemstones sometime.
Quality content MJR. Keep em' coming.
I just got a psp to use emulators on it for on the go games, but to know Juiced 2 has a port has made me so happy, thanks dude Juiced 2 is my all time favourite racing game and i'm glad i can play it on the go.
1-Buy PS TV
2-Buy digital PSP games
3-Now you can play PSP with a controller on TV
Best thing Sony did❗️
Or if you have a decent PC and a modded psp just rip the iso of the often cheaper umd, then play it with improved graphics on ppsspp
yodagamer1 several UMD games are more expensive than their digital counterparts nowadays plus it’s easier to buy the games anyway it’s there for PSP, PS TV and Vita as well
J I said often not all lol, I just like physical copies more than digital.
@@SpJrD or roms. Dont have money for old games! Neither for New games.....
And I know this list is hidden gems but you have a ton of racing games up here so id like to say Midnight club 3:dub edition is the best racing game on the PSP
Jeff Criss dub edition on psp made it to greatest hits, so not exactly hidden, though the port of Midnight Club Los Angeles might be obscure.
Nice throw back to the Mighty PSP! I still enjoy this awesome handheld. Knights in the Nightmare is a really choice title.
I love these videos!! It's such a useful reference guide.
Where is reggie he must be on this video but still great video thanks man :)
Can you do a Vita hidden gems video?
Great stuff , MJ! Thanks for showing!
PSP hidden gems!! More old school Metal Jesus and I absolutely love it!!
Haven't had a psp since 2007 when I accidentally bricked it. Red GOW version.. how I miss it.
Death, Gore & Grindcore R.I.P
Oh my god i just got that exact one at a pawn shop and didnt realize it was a GOW untill now and i gotta say, it was worth buying. ill play it extra hard for u
Death, Gore & Grindcore there's ways to unbrick it yaknow
Same with my battlefront edition that had vader on the back,i miss it so much i was dumb when i was young it got destroyed.
Anyone played ZHP? That's one of my favorite PSP hidden gems.
OmegaMetroid93 - ZHP???
Zettai Hero Project. It's a superhero-parody JRPG roguelike made by the team who made Disgaea, if you've heard of that. Really great game, and really funny too.
Yep! That's a hilarious game on the PSP!
One of my favorite PSP games!
Then again, I have a *lot* of favorite PSP games...
OmegaMetroid93 yesss, that game is amazing
I dig the hidden gems videos, I do. Will you ever consider doing some updated videos on game-hunting or 'responsible game-buying' as well? ie: patience, research prices, etc ?
Great vídeo Man! You are amazing!!!
These hidden gems videos are simply amazing!
Did someone say "Hidden Gems".
Phantasy Star Portable 1 + 2 are my fave games for the system, maybe considered hidden gems too as not many people picked them up.
Also best racer has gotta be Ridge Racer, this is perfect for on the go racing action.
All I heard was mix between Final Fantasy and Golden Sun, and I got HYPE. Love your videos, I've been playing my vita, nd have a lot of psp titles downloaded on there. You've helped me find some great ones.
awesome, I love my PSP and it's great to find games I didn't know about
10:15 slowest run in rpg ever xD
I loved Blade Dancer but goddamit if it doesn't take two years to cross a single map.
Another PSP Hidden gem: Dj Max Portable 2
Juiced 2 was my favorite game when I was a kid. Great video as always MJR.
Hey mjr greetings from Australia. Juiced 2 so much fun. I am new to psp collecting but already love the system.
What about "Undead Knights" and "Dungeon Maker: Hunting Grounds" and "Infected"
I see you love zombie action games
Lord of Arcana have a sequel only in Japan: Is called Lords of Apocalypse.
Really?! Had no idea. Thanks!
Excelente video. Siempre descubro nuevos títulos en esta máquina. Muchas gracias!
Your Channel name is why I subbed for you. Nuff said, thanks fo the vid ✊
*I love me some metaljesus*
Its sad when people say "Dante's Inferno is a God of Wars's clone..." Its like to say that EVERY RPG GAME is Dragon Quest's clone.
The button scheme is the same, ok, but storie, lore, weapons, upgrades, songs, theme and everything else has nothing releated with God of War series.
Its not a clone its a bad rip off, does that make you feel better?
I liked Dante's inferno
@@mrpimpekman it's way better than the gows in psp
@@mrpimpekman if dante's inferno is a rip off of god of war then god of war is a rip off of devil may cry
A very interesting video posted recently about how you (perhaps unintentionally) affect prices in the games collector market. I suppose it's inevitable given the success of your channel. I know you were at Sierra in the later years, but any kind of vid you could make about Space Quest or Leisuresuit Larry would be fantastic. Have been watching you since the start from Adelaide, Australia mate. Take care.
I love this system so much, i have been scooping games up left and right i love them
The untold legends games are great rpgs like diablo clone
I think a great hidden gem is Digimon World Re:Digitize, it was released in Japan only BUT there was a fan translation by Operation Decoded. I was part of the group who translated it, so maybe I'm a bit biased, but it's a good spiritual successor to the Digimon World game on PS1 and there's a lot of fun to be had.
Super Sword Gaming Can't help but assume mjr will only include things he can put on his shelf.
True, but you can run the patch from the actual disc if I remember correctly. So you could use physical media :o
I just picked up a PSP with a stack of games. And I was just wondering what gems it has in its extensive library. Praise Metal Jesus for bestowing you're wisdom. You truly rock, man. You and the MJR gang.
Great vid bro thanks!
Knights in the Nightmare MIGHT look somewhat confusing? LOL. It is very confusing.
It is incredibly confusing. And I mean, most of the Depth Heavens games are a bit hard to get in, but this one takes it to a whole new level.
Crazy confusing
But it's soundtrack. Oh god it's too soothing and beautiful, especially the chick with a crossbow theme.
Still very nostalgic for my ears.
I had Juiced 2 for the DS and is one of my all time favorite racing games. Definitely have to pick it up for the psp.
Dude, I really liked Split Second! Can't believe I played a hidden gem before it appeared on one of your videos.
Why is everyone forgetting dark mirror or the name similar to that...
Both Syphon Filter games on PSP are really great! I still replay them occasionally.
I agree! And Logan's Shadow! Online multiplayer was fun too
Anyone watching in quarantine 😂
Whats up pandemic peoples??
So i played Blade Dancer as a kid. Loved it to death but couldn't remember its name till i happened across your video. Now I can go get it again. Thanks my dude!
I like that Atlus gives a free download of Yggdra Union with Knights in the Nightmare. Yggdra Union is an AMAZING Strategy rpg and a hidden gem in its own right. I just wanted to once again thank you for the azmazing content, even when its for systems I barely collect for. You give the best of all worlds. Also, shoutout to Reggie for mentioning Anima on PS4 in a pickups vid ages ago. I've recently started playing it, I'm at the first boss and I've been loving it so far!
Tenchu uses one enemy model for all enemies, they all look the same 🤦😂😂
2019 anyone? Pandora’s battery and magic memory stick anyone ? :D
2020 baby!
Love your reviews dude
Split/Second is one of my favorites, it's so good
