This song's video has a base on reality. The hostage situation of Gladbeck in Summer 1988 was a two-man bank robbery with one woman complicit that turned into a hostage situation with pursuit over Germany and the Netherlands. Many journalists came so close to the criminals, that just like in this video they hindered police work substantially. Over the three days it went on a policeman (in an accident en route to one of the crime scenes), and two hostages (one shot by one of the criminals during the pursuit, the other executed by the other criminal in retaliation for the accomplice being arrested) were killed.
Because of the behaviour by the journalists who sensationalized the criminals with no regard for the safety of the hostages or the police investigation - including live interviews in the car! - it caused a gigantic scandal on proper journalistic behavior. This is what Rammstein are addressing here - it's often easier to become famous as a criminal than a good guy, and the Gladbeck scandal is proof.
The camera Rammstein are receiving is the Golden Camera, a German prize for best film, television and music entertainment, founded and financed back then by the biggest tabloid paper company in Germany, meaning their bank robbery was such a ratings success they actually won it, including being invited to the self-agrandizing Golden Camera gala to receive it. The real-life Golden Camera will be cancelled after 2020.
"Ich Will" is one of my favourite Rammstein songs, as it literally also includes a cry to be seen and heard by a public that seems indifferent, and even if they see you and hear you, you can't understand them sometimes, so you will slide further and further into even stronger attempts to be recognzied. Something many people struggle with and is an often repeated topic. See the movie "Joker", for example.

I wouldn't say "better". The videos are flawlessly executed (most of them anyway) and add a whole new level and twists. Also each one is very different and interesting.
If you want action go for the live shows, if you want stories that are funny, sad, creepy, thought provoking, visually pleasing ... go for the videos.

If you want a less angry song, you could watch the official videos for Rosenrot or Ohne dich, or maybe Radio or Stripped (Depeche Mode cover, in english).
Ich will is far from angry, it's actually a really positive and uplifting song lyrically.

For such an old video (it is from the 2001) the message is pretty up-to-date. People do forbidden things to get famous. Like youtubers all over the world. The lyrics do not support the video. It is a song to communicate with the fans (I want to see you). The video is outstanding, but their live performance is good as well.
