And what about HX3? And what about latency compared to SDI Cams for example? How changes latency when you connected via Wifi? Anyway this is a promising PTZ cam... Wish it had a bigger sensor!
It is a HX3 camera, I didn't test the rest, as I see it most likely being incorporated alongside other Birddog cameras, or even replacing some. WiFi shouldn't change latency, but then, it's of course dependent on the quality of the WiFi, which can vary from cheap consumer grade, to high-end gamer, to industrial and commercial grade. I don't have the ability to test all the variations.
Good review but I really wish you would have demonstrated the movement functions. i.e. how slow or fast can it pan? How many speed steps are there? Same with the zoom speed. These are PTZ cameras so show the PTZ functions! Also, what control options are there. Obviously BD makes their own joystick and vMix can control it as well. But what other 3rd party options are possible?
I'm glad you liked the review. Demonstrating the movement functions is most relevant when compared to the movement functions of another PTZ, and there are hundreds of different models, so it's hard to really draw comparisons in isolation. There are dozens and dozens of control options, like, with the four-way controller buttons, basically every control surface Skaarhoj makes can be a PTZ controller. And that's over 50 control surfaces, from ONE company. 40 more from X-Keys, etc, etc.
Does it come with the NDI license or do I have to purchase like some others.
I have a license with my obsbot but I don't think it's transferable.

@@StreamTeknology O.K., but everywhere in the video the Stream name is "NDI HX2". I though you used it instead of HX3...

@@StreamTeknology Perhaps you could have compared the movement to the P200 like the way you compared sensors. Just a suggestion for future reviews. 🙂
Thank you! Would love to see the difference between HD and 4k image quality. As i understand that resolution is only difference between the two?
And zoom range. But yeah, having both for the review would have been awesome!
A bit disappointed this doesn't have an SDI port. But it does look like a very nice camera.
Any thoughts on ai tracking?
All Birddog cameras offer tracking, and have done it since before people starting applying the "AI" label to everything.
Awesome device.
I agree!
I think the e-ink display is a pretty cool idea.
I agree - I'd love to stick my logo on it though. :)
The E-ink display looks like they glued an old iphone to the side. In an installation I would not want my camera IP and login details visible.
Valid point, we can recommend user configuration of that info panel.
