Chris Eyre-Walker I use DxO Optics 11 for Raw processing, can the presets for Lightroom be used with that? Because I see a huge section for presets in the DxO
Your work is inspiring, mate. Thanks for sharing you composition techniques, adventure how-to's, and all around drive to capture nature. As always--great work.
Excellent video...again... I love shooting long tele shots with the sun/moon like that! Great compositions too. That landscape looks very similar to out here in New Mexico and the rest of the southwest US. Now if only we had some awesome vehicle options like Africa and Australia for overlanding. Great stuff!
Thanks Hamza! Yep same thought here about that arch. Once we stood under it we realised how massive it was! Always difficult to judge scale in a place with no reference.
Great video! Love the overview you give to the process behind your photography. Its one thing to take the image, but its a whole other story as to how you captured it. Keep up the great work!
Thanks Andy! Appreciate the kind comment. I guess the whole idea behind the APOL series is to show that each image has more than just a story to tell by itself. As photographers we have to decide what to show and what not. We 'frame' the story. And that's one of the things I try to share.
I agree, and you are doing an excellent job of it! Hope you keep documenting the adventures of your life even if its for your own reference later in life. I started following you on IG so I can keep up with the action!
Hey Joel! That's so awesome and I really really appreciate the support! It means a lot! New APOL episodes will be coming in July as I'm currently planning my next big adventure in Central Asia. Until then there will be plenty of gear reviews, tech talk and other behind the scenes content coming to everyone :-) Again, thanks for your support!
Another great episode. The arch shot with full moon is epic! I was thinking for the next year Namibia trip are you going to take Freya so she can be available as a model inside the shots ;)
I'm curious as to why you choose to shoot m4/3 when the new sony a7 camera's also have in body stabilisation. I recently picked up an EM10 II as a replacement for my really cheap canon dslr but i'm not convinced that I want to stick to M4/3 as the sony camera's are getting cheaper and cheaper.
Hi Tim, I choose to work with M4/3 for many reasons. One of the main ones being the size and weight advantages. Sony still require full frame sized lenses, which defeat the purpose of mirrorless cameras (IMO). Also, the sensor stabilisation in Olympus cameras is far ahead of any other camera brand. In combination with the M.Zuiko 12-100mm f/4 IS I can consistently achieve 2-3 second exposures, handheld & sharp!! I also think Olympus is doing an amazing job at innovating, think: stabilisation, hi-res shot, pro capture mode, 60fps RAW shooting... to mention a few. There's more to a camera than the sensor size and I honestly believe Olympus ticks a lot of the right boxes right now. There is a place and time for every camera and each one of us have to decide what works best for us. For me that's Olympus, for you it might be Sony. ;-)
Hi Chris. Love your videos and envy you being in Namibia. Just met someone who spent time in a campervan like yours going around Etosha with living accommodation on top. Looks fun. I do think it a bit odd though that you mention person or model in your videos for your partner. I know you want to be professional but still.. I believe from earlier vids that she is Freya why not say so?? Just an observation - no criticism intended. All the best in your travels.
Thanks for your feedback Andrew. I tend to not mention her name because I want the person in my shot to be anonymous. It could be anyone. It could be you. That's the idea. But yes, now that I've mentioned her name here and there I'll probably be calling her by it in future episodes.
Have you seen my brand new Lightroom Preset Pack? - bit.ly/DesertPresetPack

These are Lightroom only. But I'll definitely look into making them DxO Optics 11 compatible! Stay tuned ;-)

Thanks for watching Brent!
I can imagine that the landscape is similar in New Mexico. Quite surreal really!
"Front seat: steering wheel..." hehehe! Like the vibe to this one Chris. Plus the location of course! :)
Thanks Benon! Lots of cutting on that grand 4x4 tour.
Totally! Was worth it tho :)
Loving your adventures & photography. Great vlogs!
As always, Chris, a well made video and Great photos. Makes me love Olympus even more.
Thanks for watching and for your kind words! Olympus will be happy to hear that :-)
Loved the work. That arch surprisingly looks smaller from far, once you were up there I was like, it's big.
Thanks Hamza! Yep same thought here about that arch.

Yet again another great video Chris :) Already looking forward to the next

The only thing missing from the the interior of the vehicle was a dog :)
Man I wish we had a dog with us. Would definitly complete the interior!
What's the make and model of this truck?
Sorry, I'm not entirely sure what you mean by that question?
No problem! :-)
