The review is for some reason very HDMI - oriented, as if it is the default / better choice.
I have the FV43U connected to my MBP 16" through USB-C and I get native 4k @ 144HZ out of the box, text looks 98% like Retina. As I use it for programming - I have no issues with color representations or text reading.

    • @KitGuruTech
      @KitGuruTech  3 года назад +5

I wouldnt say it was 'HDMI' oriented, but it is our job to find good and bad points with any product - we have been reviewing products for over a decade. And these HDMI issues are quite important for a lot of people. especially those using consoles as we discussed. Its not going to effect everyone as you say but we feel it should have been looked at closer before release. HDMI is critical for a lot of people. I've been using a BGR screen for a good couple of years. You can explicitly enable the BGR mode for Cleartype via the Windows Registry, but to be honest, it still sucks and will never look as good as a RGB panel. And then there are the apps that don't even use Cleartype and you have the issue back again. For me, BGR is utter garbage and is just a pain in the ass.. Totally not worth it.

Hello, I am using KTC G48P5 OLED monitor to play games.
I tested several games like Resident Evil 3/2/8, Sekiro, and Elden Ring.
And I found the dark region is not so clear as the OLED should be.
So I tried to set the "dark balance" of the monitor from 50 to 100, it got much better, BUT the bright things like sunlight is distorted.
That means I can't get a natural visual from that OLED monitor by setting the "dark balance".
So I want to buy a non-oled monitor like this one to see if it gets better.
I noticed that this monitor has a similar function "dark balance" to improve the darkness clarity, but I'm not sure whether this feature also increases the overall brightness just as the KTC does.
If it affects only the dark region, I think it's OK for me to buy it.
Could you please take some tests on that function?

I wanted to want the LG C2, this monitor, the Samsung Neo G7, the LG 32GQ950, the Gigabyte M32U and a few others, but each one has their drawbacks. LG C2 no displayport, potential burn in, not very bright. The Samsung is curved and for productivity or casual kick back and watch, I think it would get annoying, especially at 1000R curve. The LG 32GQ950, man is it gray! Just washed out looking. For the color boasted color volume, it sure is lacking, but that's edge lit IPS for you. The Gigabyte is not bright enough to be HDR and is not a true 10 bit panel, it's just a budget 4k monitor. Maybe a solid 1440p monitor is where it's at.

    Excellent black contrast/deep black
    Hdr looks incredible
Brightness under users1 settings can be adjusted all the way and it's very bright and makes my games look very colorful, that qled display is gorgeous, if you own one of these q60r or q70r samsung tvs, its pretty much the same thing but those tvs are only 120hz at 1440p and 4k at 60hz, so obviously this monitor is superior in every aspect.... I love it, g sync works flawless in this monitor, the g7 oddysey used to be glitch and image wasn't always smooth, the fv43u handles gsync like as if it was a true gsync monitor, it's compatible and trust me it's more than that, 0 regrets the ghosting is very minimal I only noticed it in shadow of the tomb raider but it's acceptable and the image quality balances it out, just buy the dam thing you won't regret it

I have this monitor. It doesnt look washed out at all. You will notice darker tint on the edges of the screen though. And the screen looks like it was bend backwards on the borders due to how the screen is build. But it doesn't disturb me at all since mostly you stare at the middle of the screen.
      Positve:
+ HDR 1000 (if calibrated right, looks gorgeous)
      + Colors
+ Huge Size and still being a Monitor and not a TV
      + Built in Soundspeakers
      Negative:
      - Tinted Edges
      - BGR Screen (doesn't disturb me, i thought it would look much worse)
      - Black crush
      - Smearing (Since VA panel)
      - DSE Effect on all 3 Units I have tested
      - No Motion Interpolation / No 24fps support on movies
      - No 48 Gbps Support (dont understand why they made this decision, since it has hdmi 2.1....
