  • Poor service delivery in the cash strapped Makana Municipality based in Grahamstown in the Eastern Cape, has forced residents to take matters into their own hands. A civil organisation made of local residents calling themselves Makana Revive, has taken it upon itself to fix potholes that have riddled almost all roads in the city.The municipality has attributed the deterioration of roads to poor maintenance. Grahamstown is a host city to two national flagship events that draw thousands of international tourists to the country - the National Arts Festival and Science Festival.
