    When I was young I would use floating casters to catch nice roach, nothing on the line other than a hook, great fun.

      A very good technique for Roach, still works well now 💪 Regards, Steve.

    Old news lol....match fishing in the 80s was a must have bait !......5/6 pints lol.....1 pint is all you needed 😊

    • @AnglingDirectTV
      @AnglingDirectTV  5 месяцев назад

      I agree Nigel, casters have been a top quality bait for years however... In the modern match scene there is no denying the increased impact in recent years. As for quantity, you will catch fish on just 1 pint of Casters however, most big matches these days require huge weights and lots of fish... to achieve this you do need to take more Casters. Regards, Steve.

    Another great video.
    Which bait bands do you use? Are there any supersoft bands on 4 inch pretied hooks?

    • @AnglingDirectTV
      @AnglingDirectTV  5 месяцев назад +1

      I use Matrix super soft bands, you can get these pretied on 4" hooklinks 👉 www.anglingdirect.co.uk/matrix-mxc-3-eyed-barbless-bait-band-rigs-10cm?queryID=0d31d5296d8c634ed12c457f700ec381&objectID=95226&indexName=live_ad_uk_products. Regards, Steve.

    Can't remember the last time I bought any casters. I'm retired, so have plenty of time to turn my own from "Left Overs".

    • @AnglingDirectTV
      @AnglingDirectTV  6 месяцев назад

      That's a dream situation for many anglers, if you can cut the cost down but still fish with casters it's a win-win. Regards, Steve.

    Lethal on f1s pellets can't compete but one it's a lake where it's proper carp then pellet is better

    • @AnglingDirectTV
      @AnglingDirectTV  6 месяцев назад

      Once they get a taste for casters it's crazy! I do agree, some lakes still react better to pellets. Regards. Steve.

    How do you slap the rig.

    • @AnglingDirectTV
      @AnglingDirectTV  6 месяцев назад

      It's all about rotating your pole over, this slaps the rig on the surface as shown in the video. Takes a-bit of practise to get things nice and smooth. Regards, Steve.

    I fished there before about 15 years ago, Reepham fishery, so finickity with their rules, so OTT, I've only been there once, never again. Went with 2 friends, we are all experienced anglers, half the tackle we took we weren't allowed to use even though it was safe and clean and the bailiff kept checking up on us as if he didn't trust us :(

      @AnglingDirectTV  6 месяцев назад +1

      The fishery has changed hands since then, the rules are sensible and the owners 'Rick and Kelly' are great. Well worth having another visit, don't let the previous trip spoil your views on the fishery. Regards, Steve.

    Hi , I fish Float Fish Farm in comps 95% carp is what you are needing to catch 2-12 lbs average 4 lbs but there are silvers mainly roach how can you get past them !!

    • @MrFuzzBen
      @MrFuzzBen 6 месяцев назад +1

      I wouldn't be fishing casters if there are that many silvers. 6 or 8mm pellets will be your best bet or even meat or paste short.

    • @AnglingDirectTV
      @AnglingDirectTV  6 месяцев назад +1

      If you are feeding casters, I would use a red pellet as hookbait. If you the Roach are too much for casters, I would switch to a pellet approach. Regards, Steve.

    Casters are just too expensive. At least you can freeze maggots.
