The best money I ever spent was on a road bike, a pretty decent entry level bike that cost £1100 (I got it for £850 at mates rate). Not a small amount of money to spend, there's cheaper bikes, but I love it, it encourages me to get out and ride it. It has improved my health beyond anything else I have ever bought, it has brought me happiness and a sense of freedom beyond anything else I have ever bought. It is my pride and joy. I have toyed with the idea of buying a more expensive upgraded bike, but what's the point, I love my bike and I will keep it probably for the rest of my life. I got it just before the COVID lockdown, that bike kept me sane, got me in shape and helped me steer away from more unhealthy coping mechanisms. I owe a lot to that purchase. I try to look at every big purchase in the same way, if it cannot bring me any tangible worthwhile benefits beyond what I already own (or cheaper alternatives), then why bother.
Jay my brother we live in a strange world. seems for me that it’s not about who you are , it’s about what others think you are and wearing that mask every day hurts every time when u get home be alone and i don’t have to pretend to be someone im not or pretend to have a happy life did the same thing with an e - coupe , this car costs more than it gives me and it’s not worth it anymore since nothing changed this world is fucked up , especially as a man for me it feels like people are expecting you to be someone they would like you to be - or me looking how i could benefit me and the others around me , when at the end of the day nobody cares about what i do or what i drive, wear, think or feel brother being a man these days is hard - people are evil and i think my goal from now on is it to find people with a good heart where i can be myself and be happy about that … but looks like an impossible mission stay strong bro - greetings from austria/vienna 🤝
Soon i will be buying my third new motorcycle in a row. Trading in my current one i bought early this year after trading in a 300cc scooter i bought new the year before. Got my motorbike licence years back and bought a motorcycle and stuff and then life happened.. After a divorce and getting a job much further from home i decided i needed a backup for my car just in case.. i should have made use of my licence years earlier! Dunno why i didnt. Besides from being a backup to go to my job it became my favourite hobby riding my bike😊. Its the one thing i spend like all my money on and i confess its also a status symbol. Just like the Bimmer you're talking about. People are aloud to have nice stuff. But then again its only matter.
What you said really speaks to me. I think your first anything is extremely hard to surpass. I‘m still driving my first car, a slow Vauxhall Corsa. Back when I got it I felt like a king, since I could suddenly go anywhere anytime. Now of course it‘s set in that as a car, it doesn‘t have much going for it other than being cheap and reliable (which admittedly is nice). If I got myself a used 3 or 5 series or an E Class now that‘d be awesome, but I don’t think it would feel as amazing as back when I got my very first car, even if as a car, it would be 10 times better lol. Like what you said, I always struggle with the „do I really need it?“ question which pretty much leads me to a fairly simple life so far since I don’t buy much. But then the question kind of becomes what to do with the money you didn’t spend… „maybe I should have bought it after all…“
With a bunch of different things, seeing what poor money management did to relatives, I grew up with a very forward thinking mindset when it came down to how I spent money, I've had a few near moments of spending money on the wrong thing like going for a limited edition car vs a more current day version with a lot more features which thankfully I went for in the end, but nothing I can outright say was a buyers regret... yet lol
There is something very comforting and familiar about videos filmed in the car. 😌
I really enjoy your videos. They're oddly comforting. Keep it up.

did the same thing with an e - coupe , this car costs more than it gives me and it’s not worth it anymore since nothing changed
