Russian media. What information do Russians get in 2023?

  • Sorry for the sound!
Many people think that Russians don't get trustworthy information about their country and about the current situation. So, I decided to check it. And it occured that Russians get trustworthy information even from official resources. That topic that bothers me in this regard is why they don't get to address questions to authorities after they read and watch the news.

I don't think it was ever in there in the first place. My then Russian penfriend came to stay with me once. It was fraught because turned out we were both temperamental and a bit on the edge. She was lovely but she WAS very authoritarian in nature and accepted other people being authoritarian over her if it applied, just as she was authoritarian over those she was allowed to be. Interesting video, as usual. I'm glad that you share the feelings most of us (I wish I could say all) have when seeing monuments of Stalin going up, in 2023, as if it was 1953.
I have the impression that most Russians have a rose tinted view of the guy, not fanatical or adoring, but some sort of mild admiration mixed with dismissal of his crimes.
I wonder if the TV schedule now allowing for entertainment is a sign of some sort. Sign of what, I don't know. If it was the West it would be just a matter of the public being tired of the topic.
Propagandists never get tired, though, but they run out of steam if they don't get clear instructions. Or maybe they want to normalize the SMO as part of normal life alongside viewings of the Matrix, cop shows and music varieties.
Im looking forward to the next one!

    Ksenia,
I want to offer some context concerning the man that was sentenced to one half year house arrest. I worked in Russia for about 9 months during the mid 90's. A observation that I had, was how sensitive people were to those that did not do their assigned jobs. At the time everyone was a member of the worker's union/party. Since almost everything was associated as a benefit from the Russian state, when you did'nt work and or do your job, you were considered a parasite to the system. The way to view this from afar, is that when you do the work that someone else is doing, you are taking their work from them. I think the authorites did'nt like the idea of having to deal with having to deal with those responsibe for the maintenance of that road. I'll just add that when you got in trouble a person or persons, you never knew how far up the line, they were in the local political party.

You are delusional. She is on RUclips. She can see any RUclips video you can see. She also have access to the internet. The Russian internet does not block content. She can go to CNN, FoxNews, etc. You are the one fed lies, you did not even know Russians have access to Western media, because your media lies to you. Get a grip, you did not even put it together that she is on YouTude and the information she has available to her from the RUclips platform. Interesting that Russian’s get access to western news outlets, but westerns don’t get access to Russian media. So who is really the ones in the dark…

6:13. Moldova (formerly Moldovia) is an independent republic sandwiched between Ukraine and Romania. It declared its independence in 1991 with the collapse of the USSR and joined the United Nations in 1992. They call themselves Moldova and are not a part of Russia. I am confused about why Russia is involved with the roads of Moldova? Perhaps you mean Transnistria? An eastern part of Maldova that is being occupied by Russia , similar to Ukraine🤔. The "frozen conflict" zone?

Haha 😂 I’m finding this video and the comments from Non Russians really hilarious - simply because WHAT ON EARTH DO YOU EXPECT TO BE ON THE MEDIA around the period of remembering the “great patriotic war” ?
    Like seriously?
I don’t mean to be patronising to the content creator - but does she what level of propaganda here in UK 🇬🇧 we go through at the month of remembrance?
It’s a month long period of political programs and people wearing a poppy - if you don’t wear a poppy - you’re deemed to be unpatriotic!
Like seriously - every country on earth does the same when trying to indoctrinate its population on a political agenda! It’s not unique to “Russia” or Putin
And Stalin … hmm yeah the great patriotic war happened under him, it helped win the war against Nazism, and Stalin remained leader of the USSR post the war, he is the Churchill version of UK - and fyi the content creator might want to read up on how Churchill caused a famine in Asia - that killed millions
I understand the main audience for the channel are English speakers - therefore UK/USA … but playing to the expectations of the audience is in this episode rather shallow and childish …. It’s made the host fail to understand why during great patriotic war remembrance, the media is overwhelmingly pro “Russia”
    Jesus Christ 😂

Petty officials who are pedantic and uncooperative are sometimes called Jobsworth. Very few people buy newspapers, and lots of people dislike mainstream media (MSM) news and current affairs which appear to be coordinated and predictable....and woke. Which is presumably the reason President Putin wants to keep it out of your Universities. As for children I have six who are 30+, and I was one of eight. The tax allowance was laughable from 1950 until the late nineties. Most went to University, the last one didn't waste his time or money on going..... and no I'm not a millionaire.
