Inside an Armed Bank Raid in Lebanon

  • Banks in Lebanon have put limits on how much money people can withdraw from their own savings so Lebanese depositors - facing one of the worst economic crises in history - are taking matters into their own hands and holding up banks to get their money back.

It's kind of absurd because it can hardly be called a robbery, it's just an incredibly aggressive withdrawal.
I used to be a bank teller and I feel bad for both the teller and the customer, what a crazy situation.

There's a commercial that once existed for payday loans, the slogan was. "It's MY MONEY, and I want it NOW!" --- That should be the title of this video, rather than this bs about them being robbers when the robbers are the banks.

then you should know if everyone withdrawls their money then their economy would plunge lower than if they set this limit...this is literally what the USA did in the great depression and it worked....
Since then we don't even have banks open sunday. It was closed sunday to limit withdraws and just never changed back. Without that limit we might not have bounced back, which means we could be just as bad as half the countries in the world.
like England, its been 60+ years since ww2 ended and they still live like they are on rations.

@@ravinraven6913 the contention isn't the rule or a debate concerning it's efficacy.
It's right in the first few moments of the story. Depositers were limited to $400 /mo while the ruling (read "rich") class were able to move millions with ease and impunity.
The rich were able to move and protect their wealth from depreciation while the working class were forced to accept their devalued money and given no control over their money.

All while cheering for joe biden and spreading misinformation about the Republicans and covid.
Want to know why the media, Hollywood and the dmc have been freaking out for the past 6 years? Because the plan was for Hillary to take office so they could get this whole build back better agenda started.
No worries, Joe biden is in charge, we have January 6 hearings, the media has everyone brainwashed at this point and let's see what has happened since Joe biden took office.
      1. Mandates for an experimental medical treatment.
      2. Overspending, more money have been spent in the past 2 years then the past 30 years, it's what happens when an empire is falling, the people in power loot what's left.
      3. The start of ww3. This is the big one. The only thing in the list that really matters, Joe bidens son is directly connected with criminals in ukraine, the previous president that is tied to biden is Obama who in is his term in office had a hand in planting the current president of ukraine. Hence the problems in 2014.
Hillary during her debates said Claire she would have no fly zone in Syria which basically would cause ww3.
The thing the media doesn't tell you is that the monsters own the 5 company's that run all your news media also make weapons and oil. They are the people that send you to war and steal your children's future. Obama bailed out the banks and the auto industry, while these people showed up in private jets. 🙄
But let's be honest, who paid for his campaign? Was it the average Joe or was it paid for by Wallstreet? Why do politicians leave office and have these massive payments for speaking fees? Are we all going to pretend that taking 250k for 1 hour talk isn't a bribe? Are we really going to ignore that?
Trump isn't any good I promise you that but for far too many years you people have ignored what is so obviously happening it makes me sick. I refuse to believe that the general American people cannot use common sense and see things for what they are. I feel that they have an appetite for destruction.
Btw I'm canadian and have obviously never voted in the USA nor will I ever be involved. This is just a guy from the outside of a window looking in. Just too bad all I see is blind sheep.

I am Brazilian and I lived 5 years in Lebanon. Btw a quick fact: Brazil is th country with most Lebanese in the world. There are more Lebanese in Brazil than in Lebanon. The most loving and welcoming people of the Arab World! Sunday in Lebanon if you go to a Lebanese friend’s home, generally the family and extended family will be gathered and the matriarch will have put the most amazing food table you can think off. Even a modest family will have you eat as one of their own and invite you to keep eating. And when you have no space left they’ll still offer you food 😂 and it’s like it never ends. Great memories I have. Lebanon was destined to more than that. What’s happening there is not what I knew when I was there. It’s also the most Catholic Arab country in the world. Ukraine was invaded and billions upon billions, if not trillion already, flowed in to assist. Lebanon goes through that and the world is silent, the world looks and barely does anything. At least we have good reporting thanks to medias such as Vice. I commend the Lebanese reporter whom I don’t know and have never seen or heard about before but you can see that even though she has settled somewhere else, following her life and career elsewhere (the UK judging by her accent) she doesn’t turn her gaze away from her country and its suffering. Lebanese abroad have family still there and they’ll always support them no matter what. Family ties are as strong as can be.Thanks God countries are usually welcoming to Lebanese from what I’ve seen throughout my life. It’s not hard for them to migrate to or countries, developed countries. They usually enjoy good reputation and are welcomed more easily than other Arab citizens from other countries. Some do migrate cause they don’t see an out there and see that out going abroad. Some simply planned early on to go study and or live abroad anyway. But a Lebanese that turns his back on his country is yet to be found. Even though they have their life somewhere else they remain connected to their roots, they’re always proud to be from Lebanon, to be Lebanese. I always get hyped when I meet a Lebanese outside the country. I can always tell when a Lebanese is around. Their accent is unmistakable when they speak Arabic, French or English. Plus they’re usually very stylish. The Lebanese aren’t just about the most amazing food in the world to me, they’re made of a big heart which make them worthy of ten times what they put forward. Lebanese women… aah.. let’s not even get started there… or I’ll write a book.

God bless the girl who stood up for her rights, as a civil rights activist I teared up listening to her talk about how the government that works for the people just patronized her.

it doesn't sound like there's much hope for her. she has brain damage from the strokes, that's why she can't walk, the baldness is because of chemotherapy. in spite of the chemotherapy, the brain cancer has metastacised, and now they're trying to get her better treatment in turkey which she would have needed much earlier, before the metastasis. or better yet, she would have needed an earlier diagnosis of brain cancer, like after the first of the three strokes. strokes in a skinny ~20 year old are very uncommon, they were most likely caused by the brain cancer, so the brain cancer should have been diagnosable after the first stroke.

so useful; heres what saying prayers does... "I had my little bubble burst by reality for a moment and felt uncomfortable, so now I'm going to rely on an infrastructure of delusion to wave away the problems of others by pretending that I'm doing anything helpful through observing a ritualistic practice that allows me to feel that I have done something even if I have not, letting me to go back to my vapid life"
      pray on

@@Psyminds so your claim is that prayer has an actual, quantifiable effect on the situation? is that what youre pretending?
