I feel like there aren't enough comments appreciating all the instrumentalists and backup vocalists! These guys were out there carrying the show and breaking a sweat so the vocalists could shine, incredible work! You can just see how much fun everyone is having, both on stage and off! Ayreon has been some of my favorite music since I was a teenager, and I wasn't able to catch this live - thanks so much for uploading it for the rest of us!
I discovered Arjen Lucassen through a random RUclips click on a random video called Live on Earth by some band named Star One. I have fallen in love with the music created by this genius and have downloaded pretty much every album he has put out. And, surprisingly, I am 68 years old! It is so gratifying to see other gray heads in the crowd, further indication that Ayreon is for everyone, regardless of age.
Arjen’s work, and his performance choices (who plays what part) are both right up there with the finest Prog/Rock Opera ever created. It’s all stunning and never gets old!
Wow, Joost was playing a Theremin?? Awesome, I didn't even notice it from my spot. Everyone was just fantastic! Such a gorgeous concert...I'll remember forever
Same. I was on the balcony on the right side if you watch the scene. All the instrumentalists on this show were very impressive. The other thing I'm still wondering about Joost is how is the synthesizer secured on top of the Hammond Organ
Thanks for filling in that blank for me. Never heard of a Theremin. I was there on the balcony on the left side and had excellent view on what Joost was doing with his hands going back and forth to some sort of instrument. Is it even an instrument? The whole concert was an experience I’ll never will forget.
After watching him completely nail this part, I had to have a google to finally find out and remember his name. John Cuijpers, and don't I ever forget it. SO ALIVE, HUH!
2:26 thats the best part! that MF is a frn badass, he looks like a lion or a spartan leader. what a strong voice and the way he sings "hah!". is powerful 🤜🤜
Is my favourite memory from the concerts…what a song and what a live perfomance!! Joost is incredible with the theremin and all his stuff!! The singers all amazing starting with Anneke, Mike and Jaycee… The disnosaurs in the screens, the fire, it felt like a real extinction going on… And bécame the perfect memory with all the friends appaearing in the video shows of the first row, including me in two different days jaja PERFECT!!
Great show!❤ I introduce Ayreon to My brother just because I needed him to travel to Europe (we are from Chile); now all his Friends know about Ayreon and he is preparing himself for the next Ayreon show 😃 (me too)
Once upon a time... I saw a pre-order ad on a webshop page, for an album by a name then unfamiliar, curiously titled *_01011001_* 🤔... The ad listed the vocalists... *17* in total. I was dumbfounded by their amount and the big, talented names 🤯! "Frak it, I'm ordering this blind (or, more descriptively, deaf)!" So, it begun... One of my favourite albums of all time. And I've been listening to metal since ca. 1983 (±1 year).
Ok, I josted Waking Deams was perfection. Maybe its this one. But splitting hairs. Shows how good thos is. Props to Joost (keyboards/theramimn) masterclass here. Also, love all the vocaliast.
Wut ?? an extinction and no Biologist ?? Oh, there she is... 9:45 in. lol And speaking of Lulz . Sir Keysalot proves that he IS a lightning rod for Theremin Waves. Just his presence can make an oscillator wheeze like a 50's sci-fi 'scary-scary monster reveal'. Whoever thought the crushing of a genetic line could be done in a musically tasteful manner?

Haunting vocals by Anneke... gorgeous!
Plus Damien. Think those two got the prettiest voices in prog.
Listen to 'The Theater Equation' for more :D

Daniel's last part is exquisite
One of the best Ayreon songs. So epic, melodic and spine chilling at the same time. Sending respect from Iran \m/

I also missed it during the concert, I guess putting him high up there made him less noticeable
Maybe I was too close to the stage, but I was always looking up to see what crazy and amazing stuff Joost was doing.

@@johanidh6553 You've got to be pretty out-of-the-way when playing a Theremin; even a bunch of air moving will affect it.
holy smokes such a above perfect execution wow
What a cast...Gildenlow, Hansi, Wilson and all the group as always, impeccable.
After watching him completely nail this part, I had to have a google to finally find out and remember his name. John Cuijpers, and don't I ever forget it. SO ALIVE, HUH!
Underrated as hell!
He slayed this show
8:45 You can feel Daniel's sass through the screen
I just happened to watch the concert and documentary again last night. These shows are like comfort food for me.
what documentary please?
@@revisionismo The behind the scenes film that comes on the blu-ray. They do one for each of these concerts and they're very entertaining.
@@RolandDeschain1 thank you
Use the force Joost! Theremins are so cool
It's just sooooo fkn epic. When Hansi came in with his part I teared up.
I was crying a lot with TFE!
Finally, the most epic song is here

0:12 Joost just approaching the theremin and making music happen 😂
This is the second Ayreon live performance where Hansi went way harder than he needed to on the word 'lies' XD
What a fine bunch of musicians!
I'll be adding this Blu-ray to my growing collection of live shows on that format. 🇬🇧🤘🤘
Outstandig performance! I get chills every time Iisten to this live version.
GREAT, a perfect performance, I always wanted to hear this live, (2:56) congratulations Arjen and the whole band made a memorable show.

When Hansi comes in I can't hold back the tears and utter nostalgia and emotions this brings back from 2008. The World has moved on, Roland. 😭😭🌹
Hello there!
Stellar lineup... Masterpiece!!
From the ashes we will rise! Omg gets me every time!
Incredible! What an experience this was
crazy vocals!
great in every aspect a complete build up, cheers from Egypt
Fabulous performance. XOXO
Great video again
The ending is perfect. What a great performance everyone has the chance to shine 🎉🎉 I love it ,
It's a good thing that I was not present in the audience here, I would have cried from the beginning to the end of the SHOW.
AWEsome!
Two things I’m mostly shocked about - Hansi’s amazing vocals and how unbelievably good this sounds! What a production/mixing🙇♂️🙇♂️🙇♂️❤
OMFG soooo awesome!! ❤❤❤
You can't keep getting away with this tony

It's not proven clear that Floors role is the same in 01011...and the Source.
apparently! btw, who is the cellist? I enjoy his ear to ear grin. So nice when people have a great time on stage :)
@@SymphonicEllen I believe that is Jurriaan Westerveld
That's not Floor, by the way. It's Brittney Slayes.
🤙🧿🌙🤌❤️🔥🌺👑
Absolutely amazing.
