I said this in the Comments of *_March of the Machines / Age of Shadows"_* and I'll say it again: The album art frame is a good idea - it makes the video easy to connect to *_01011001_* from the thumbnail alone, *and* _it makes you want to buy the Blu-ray Disc so that you can see the footage in full HD resolution_ 👍! *_Liquid Eternity_* is another banger from the album that introduced me to *Ayreon* and for that reason *_01011001_* will *Forever* remain the most special of Arjen's albums to me 🙂.
I'm getting more and more emotional every time I listen to Ayreon, I'm fighting some health demons right now and when I hear something that I absolutely adored when I was young and healthy, it's indescribably soul-crushing, I can't even enjoy the music I love the way I used to, because there's nostalgia attached to it, it reminds me that it's extreme downhill from this point, I hope nobody finds themselves in my words, but if you do, hopefully you'll feel less alone, don't surrender like I did
Discovered Ayreon during COVID by watching Reaction channels. Have been buying many of the Albums and the 01011001 became one of my go to albums while doing long commutes. The musicianship is amazing and the range of all involved has makes it wonderful. I have bought the Live Beneath the Waves DVD and love it. It is unfair to compare the live songs to the Studio recordings because they are equally good. I know I have Bias for the studio recordings but there is something about these performers just bringing something extra when it is live.

There seems to be one constant issue with Ayreon's live recordings, namely burying lead singers deep under the choir in the mix. I wanted to hear Maggy in the chorus :( On a different note, if Arjen happens to read this or anyone else knows, has the sync issue with Vimeo version been fixed? This RUclips version is fine but a) would prefer it without the frames and b) honestly, I'd love to pay something for the effort and talent that went into this show.
Yes it has been! I purchased and watched it the other day and it was fine As for the mix personally I don't have issues with it, I think it's meant to sound that way
No the vocalists are playing a character, see it more as an opera or a play. The whole album tells a story with multiple characters commenting on it and driving the story onwards.

Not necessary on their perspective. The sound on the clip comes from the front end console and is re-synchronized with the video and ambiance mikes, while the public is hearing the music via the speakers. Add to that the natural desync due to the difference of speed between light and sound and you've got a mess.
@@XH13nice theory, but you can clearly hear the audience is clapping too fast. There are also no drums in that part, so not much to sync to😉 But I was there and had the same experience
