One of the best sitcoms of all time = "Taxi." I was in 8th grade 1978 when the show began, and in high school and graduating in it's final year 1979 - 1983 when it continued to run and end. This show, along with Seinfeld, are the 2 best sitcoms I ever saw as they were running being made. Gotta throw in "Honeymooners" with these two, which was filmed before I was born. My 3 favorite sitcoms.
Louie can be evil sometimes. But this is a case where I say justice. This rich kid was exploiting someone who really didn't have much money. After losing $200., Louie gave him a chance to walk away a winner. But he just had to push one more time. And it was rather satisfying to see Louie strike back with a vengeance. It doesn't take much to see the kid's pleas were a 'just in case' backup plan. And Louie handled this in a devilishly clever manner. You go Louie!
I remember. When all the taxi drivers were each telling a story of their best day of being a taxi driver including Louie when he used to be one. One of my favs.
Something I don’t get it is that if Louie was so poor, how did he happen to have $1000 in the cab that night to make the bets. He had the $200 for the first two bets and then the final bet he had another $800 By the inflation calculator that is worth over $4600 today.
And he was also in The Bad News Bears, great kid actor.
Greatest writers of all times! This show stands up even in 2023 ❤🏆
2024 🥸
@@wolferguy 2045. Trump lost by the way.
With such actors as De Vito, Lloyd and Hirsh, not to mention the clever writing, this show had pure gold in it.
Louie was my favorite character of this show.

He couldn't even be mad the first time, because he should have known better.
Who else held their breath?? Louie should have had his own show!
he did. it was called Taxi
This kid was Tanner from the Bad News Bears, right?
Yes ! Chris Barnes
That crafty young man is Louie’s kind of people.
That was a win-win. That kid would have just called his parents and told them the envelope got stolen, and they would have wired him more money
I know Louie was just a little wrong for taking the money at the end, but he was ao sweet to the kid for that 20 seconds. 😭😭💗💗
Wot episode is this
