My family plays a slightly different version of this game. If you slap your hand on a card that is not a jack, then all the other players slap the offender in the face.

We played some version of this with spanish cards. We took turns to flip cards. The one who flipped his card says "1", the next "2" and that until 12. If someone said, for example "5" and there was a number 5 card, everyone had to touch the card (rapidly putting the card in your pocket was allowed). The last one in touching the card had to get slaped for everyone playing with a ruler.

I’d add doubles (two of the same cards consecutively), sandwiches (double with something in between), and a marriage (king and queen)
You can also say the numbers from descending order and if you place a card and say the number everyone gets to slap.

We played this differently growing up. The object of the game was to finish all your cards; the player that's hands are empty wins. Whoever is last to slap the Jack takes all the cards, but they have the chance to slap everyone's hands as hard as they want. The slap isn't complete until the last person's hands touch either another person's hands or the table (everyone has a chance to dodge the slap). So it sucks for either the person who withdraws their hands last or the person slapping the table. If someone slaps incorrectly, they also take the whole pile, so some players will fake a slap to trick others, lol. I think the way this person explained it is way safer, but the violence was extra fun as a kid.

Whatever is the most bottom wins, I recommend making a rule saying you must slap through the middle of the pile to prevent that from happening.

Whar happens if you both slap the wrong card
The first player to slap the wrong card gets penalized.
I'm guessing you can play this with 2 players and once you run out of cards you're out.
When you run out of cards, you have one chance to slap a jack. Slap wrong, and you're out of the game. If you miss the jack and someone else slaps it, also out of the game. If you slap the jack, then you take the cards and resume play.
