Yeah but I noticed the texture patterns at microscale (a metro door...) or at macroscale (a planet like this final day/night view), symetrical texturing is recurring and kills the immersion for me. All assets are subject to that...
Overall a great change, the clouds look great and the lighting changes from ground level look much better. But why did they make the atmosphere to space transition so abrupt (as shown in the first comparison shot)? It looks like a bug.
@@shotgunmcshotgun1142 man they made loreville unplayable. I have 5800x3d paired with 6900xt still get 20-35 fps in loreville. Well I'm moving to Arccorp
They need a large bright nav beacon for folks to see where it is or something on the hud display to direct the player to the nearest spaceport when in proximity to it.
if a player spends more than 4 minutes in atmosphere, the game should automatically open the browser with a search for "star citizen spaceport location video"
mostly better but think the high up visibility should be a bit clearer/better... in far-future you can deal with some of the pollution I would guess , my concern is that you dont get to see the amazing cityscapes while flying. This is not Hurston where they intentionally do all kinds of experiments and pollution , quality of air should be a slight concern lore-wise also.
P.s. I guess the foggy looks better when we will have Rain in the cities... but other than that I would prefer a little bit more visibility of the cityscapes.
true, although I wonder if the city buildings have been build so high up that they now touch the clouds. some lore folks might know more if that is true tho.
@@SETHthegodofchaos depends on planet I guess.. but sure clouds can sometimes be as low as 1500 meters or so. Either way smog / fog is usually different than low cloud, as it would be everywhere. Clouds can be sometimes small.
I feel some of this is just post processing. What I'm disappointed with is the lights from the buildings on the night side are not more obvious. What I don't get is how a city wide planet has clouds. Like where does that even come from, there's no ocean.
I'm no meterologiist but wouldn't it take a lot of surface water to make that many clouds? Isn't ArcCorp the planet that is supposed to be covered entirely with man made objects?
Hm not sure if I like the abrupt atmosphere change. Looked better prior. Also, am I the only one who is kind of going to miss clear skies? They looked so good :D
Assets still look like lego pieces. Imho the arc corp they showed during the demo many years ago still looks better than this. From what I can tell they slapped the volumetric clouds on Arc Corp and tweaked a few lights and called it a day.
Yes, this isn't a cityscape asset makeover like they've just done for Lorville. I'm hoping it's next for that treatment though, it's the only one left that really needs bringing up-to-date. Might take longer as the whole planet assets need work not just the city centre parts.
The night time lighting was a nice surprise.

That part is insane! 😱
The last shot of the city lights shining through the clouds adds to the city-planet lore of ArcCorp.

It's 100% a bug. Its only visible on the redone atmospheres of ArcCorp and Hurston
Yha i noticed that too when first arriving at ArcCorp. I think it's indeed a bug or tier 0 of new atmosphere tech
They must have a new line of code somewhere going "if (height < karmanLine) ink = blue; else ink = black;"...
Looks a lot more in line with their concept art for arccorp, very nice!
just needs oceans and mountains now.
Damn the music choice makes me feel nostalgic. Great video^^
that last shot! it's incredible!
Nice comparison ,👍 and good music selection
2:43 OI! they turned off the cogs again!
Lol this will turn my PC into a jet engine
mine allready is XD
If you can run loreville this will be fine as well

Interesting, new plans!
the last shot made me drop my sandwitch
👌👌👌👌
👌👍
great video mate as usual
Great work. Thx 👍👌
Nicely done.
great video!
I love it. How do you do these? I assume you just have to go to each location at a very specific orientation for these videos. Great work!
Yha need to switch between PU and PTU try to line them up as close as possible
@@AerodyContent Never stop. You’re doing God’s work👍
next to implement raining and thunderstorm, then we wil have that cyberpunk vibe city
Looks sick!
Very Cool!
So good.. 🥰
Great video. Still no light by night from orbit on ArcCorp?
i thought the "where do i land at Area 18" was bad in chat before for new players now it will be 10x more common

It's easy to find once you have done it a few times and know all the tiny things to look for, but maybe now we get proper lights too.
Weyland-Yu... Err.... CIG: Building better worlds.

The clouds and smog hide the unnatural transition between the downtown and the rest of the planet
some of these shots look worse, but I guess it make sense since the atmo would trap CO2
OK... so they added more extensive clouds? What am I missing here?
Clouds and new atmosphere tech available cuz of updated rendering with gen 12

Epic difference
Did it release?
FPS killer
Dont like the green daytime atmo change, but i get why they did it, to reflect the CO2 content.
Great video but I think your wrong, CIG does not have directx12 working in 3.19 just yet m8.
You're right, i was mistaken.
A planet fully build with no trees and plants. And it has clouds? Impossible. They even should pump oxygen in the atmosphere to survive 😅
they still have to put in oceans
@@StarCitizenSpeakeasy I hope so or some green places, around some palaces or rich men villa's

in lore there is a large ocean, they just haven't added it yet.
All new Arccorp with real air pollution 🎉
Who doesn't like before/after shots :)
They call it "Gen 12". Atm it does have nothing to do with directx12.
Thanks! Just changed it in the description. I made a mistake
I laugh every time i think of ArcCoruscant. Nothing about a planet-wide city makes any sense.

Wow, the atmosphere looks awful now. No wonder this game will never see a release, their artists cant figure out how shaders work.
