This is the third time that I've replaced the clock spring in my Nissan Sentra in 7 years, I'm pretty sure something is wrong with the wiring, but for $18(currently on ebay) I just keep replacing it, and I always come back to this video and rewatch it lol, thanks, bro!!
This video helped out alot!! I did one on a 2011 sentra! Instead of one bolt on the side it was 2 bolts holding it in place and they werent torx bits, they were flanged hex bolts size 10mm
Found this, It’s just the wheel base and the actual wheel, you gotta use the airbag/wires etc from the original, but I love that it’s customizable www.carid.com/2009-nissan-sentra-steering-wheels/b-i-stock-steering-wheel-ncnr-1474653593.html
Thanks for the video man! Fixed mine yesterday, had no cruise control no more nor lights on my steeringwheel controle. I managed it even tho the guys at the yard cut the air bag wires in order to get the bomb out of there. Thanks 👍👍👍👍
I installed an aftermarket part from ebay for my 08 sentra. the part was from a 2003 to 2009 Murano #25567-ET025 worked like a charm. piece of advice on the new part do no take the little plastic holder that keeps the new part from spinning. remove battery first and forremost before doing anything
Thanks I just replaced mine and everything works but my steering is tilted to the left when I drive straight. Do I now need an alignment or do I have to open it up and do this all over again?
@@dsspc Yeah I had it aligned by a mechanic and he told me that I need an alignment now. I called him and said he didn't align it properly and he needs to do it again. I don't want to spend more money if I don't need an alignment. Do you think he just didn't align the steering properly?
What do I need to do if I didn’t get the full assembly with the handles ? I only ordered the air bag clock spring circular part , will this make my horn work again ?
Hi! I'm so glad to run across this video...I was just curious if the Versa clock spring worked long term...every time I look up a versa clock spring it's cheaper (but the sellers say it's not supposed to work with a sentra)
Hello i changed this part 2 times first time the esp light start flashing because of wrong part then ordered a new used part. Now airbag light is of but steerig wheel buttons dont work. Not music level buttons or any of the cruise control buttons work.. do you guys think its somthing wrong with this part as well or do i need to code it to my ECU
sorry to hear that!! as far as I know, this should be plug and play because you are just changing the clock spring (spiral cable). Did you have traction control issues before (ESP light)? for me ...sounds like defective parts.....
Hi, you have to make sure that clock spring rotates at least 2 rotations to the left or right from the middle position. If not, you would break the ribbon cable inside the clock spring when you start steering the car. Steering full lock is about 1 ½ turns to the R or L, so this is why you have to make sure clock spring is in the middle position. I hope this helps…..
Perfect, you pick up the black cap on the back of the airbag plug first with a small flathead screwdriver but everything else is great. Also i used a size 30 torx screw thingy
I'm curious. Why would you use a picture of a different car in the thumbnail? The one in the thumbnail is a base model (no cruise control) and yours is an S model.
Your video helped me. I have an 09 Sentra base model. I followed your steps and the horn worked for a short while. The guys at Autozone helped me confirm that the horn, itself, does work by plugging alligator clips to it and testing it by connecting to the battery. So the next step is to replace the horn plate. Does anyone have a how-to video on that? Respectfully, SWGHaVoC - Nissan lover
I've being having a hard time trying to unplug the orange and yellow plugs, there's no a concrete explanation to get them out, so I'm giving up before I brake any one of them, I rather taking it to a professional whose know's how to do the job, it's to risk it trying to do it myself with out knowing how to popped the danm plugs out, thanks anyway for the video.
@@dsspc thank you man, now I can go ahead and try it again, now i could see the trick to it, thank you also for your quick respond, i really appreciated.

Just finished the same project today on a 2009 Sentra. Video still applies.
Nice! Was looking to replace the steering wheel cause the rubber is deteriorating so bad, this is gonna help a lot!!
Same here, I might have to get a new steering wheel soon too...

Finally fixed my srs light because of this video. Thank you so much. Definitely thumbs up.
Did you get the clock spring from junkyard as well?... didn't have any problems with airbag light after replacing it?
@@bernabesalgado9636 bought it on eBay or Amazon, I don't remember. But it only lasted like a month and it came back. I sold the car shortly after.
Thanks for the reply back l really appreciate it

Unfortunately, you may have to do it again. Try to align it with the little indent mark in the steering wheel. Check 4:56 of the video.

You only need the Clock Spring. you do not need those turn signal/ wiper switches. Thx
Thanks
Great video - you have to reset the airbag light, and it requires no tools or special hardware! Ry The Car Guy has a good posting of how to do it.

Do you disconnect just the negative battery terminal or both? In regards to the airbag so it won't deploy.
I disconnected just the negative terminal
Just wondering if you could explain the rotation part again I’m not sure why you have to do that or how to do it

Can you replace your a clock spring with butttons to a non clock spring 08 same model?
you should be able to do it. You would not have the connector at 3:05 on the video. Just the air bag connectors. good luck.
@@dsspc don't understand
You should have the connector in the non 08 same car or not for it to work?
