A music genre from the 20's, it became really famous in Brazil after the 1st world war. It is basically samba percursion mixed with jazz and classic music (in a more simple view). The Bossa Nova had lirycs about daily life, political conflicts and romance during that age. This type of music gave space to samba in brazillian rich society and later on was responsible for creating a really popular genre known as "Pagode". My favourite Bossa Nova musicians are Tom Jobim, João Gilberto and Vinícius de Moraes and highly recommend them even if you don't know portuguese at all.
