James, your reviews have steered me to the right products and which ones to avoid when I moved into my apartment for the first time. Thank you for all the work that you do. We appreciate you!
I bought a little corded blender the same size from Walmart several years ago, think it about $12. That little thing has served me well. Blends even liquefies well. If I want to take a smoothie or drink with me I just blend put the cap on and go. Still going strong too after several years. Love your videos!
The portable Blenders are not exactly meant or necessary have to be carried outside, it works well for college students or people who has very small kitchens, corded blenders sounds like a hassle when you have limited space, & those portable cordless blenders are a life & space saver
The problem I see with the Bionic Blade -- at least if you're blending on the go, such as on a hike -- is what do you do with the large lid/blade assembly after you've done the blending? You'd need a waterproof bag to store it in (and pray you don't create a mess while removing it and the blades don't puncture the bag). Also, once you remove that assembly, the drink container has no lid. It seems like the BlendJet 2 is completely portable, but the Bionic Blade is really only transportable.
@@juliosantana4086 Julio, I think you're missing my point. The Bionic Blade is touted as a totally portable system: you can blend your drink anywhere and drink it! However, unlike the BlendJet 2, where the blade assembly is mounted in the base and does not need to be removed, the Bionic Blade requires you to remove the blade assembly, cover it with the cap, and store it...somewhere. If you have a fanny pack, great: either would work. If you're able to blend your drink before you go somewhere and can leave the blade assembly behind, again, either would work. But in many other situations, having a large, separate part that you have to remove and store somewhere could be quite inconvenient. Now, one advantage of the Bionic Blade is that after you blend your drink, the container you're sipping out of will be significantly shorter and lighter, since you're not lifting the part with the blade to your mouth.
I can tell you that BlendJet has great Customer Service! I’ve had the BendJet 2 for 6 months when it stopped taking a charge. I called their C/S and I received a new motor with no questions asked, I didn’t even have to send in the bad unit, thats worth the extra $20 for me.
The bionic blade was doing better blending nuts and the mixed fruit shake because you shook it more when it was blending to prevent the stuff from getting stuck. Like the nuts test you didn't shake the blend jet but you did for the bionic blade.
I enjoyed the dueling blender review, however, I love my Blendjet 2 and won't switch unless something truly superior comes along. The competitor seems to be very messy since you have to remove the blade portion to access the contents. With the Blendjet 2 you only remove the lid which makes it more portable and cleaner in my opinion.
The snickers may actually work better with an intact bar. Less will be feed into the blades at a time. I would be interested in seeing my guess tested.
@@zylent8251 What I meant was that it probably wouldn't gum up the blades if it's frozen. That looked to be the issue. Dunno if it'd have enough power though. Frozen snickers are hard as hell.
@@FixiousMaximus Well if it cant blend snickers at normal temperarure it wouldnt blend frozen for sure. For snickers you need nutribullet or similar thing.
I recently ordered a Bionic Blade for $29.99 and got a second one for $6.95. They also come with a sipping lid and a sports lid For the most part I'm encouraged by the review. I'll just remember not to blend a snicker bar. Update, no lids or rims with 2/1
A couple weeks ago, I picked up a BlendJet One Plus at Big Lots for about 15 or 16 bucks. I sure wouldn't try chopping nuts with it, or blending a Snickers bar, but it does okay with half a banana, a few frozen blueberries, a dab of nut butter, and some almond milk. I do like that it is a good size for taking along with me wherever I go.
Truly enjoy watching your reviews, my adult son watches with me too at times. He's the one that got me started watching quite sometime ago. I'll always look for a review from you before I purchase items. Thank you.
I own BlendJet 1 and 2 ... and the 2 is definitely an improvement. My original criticism of the first was that it had a small capacity, only a soda can sized portion. The BlendJet 2 was nice and I upgraded to a 20oz jar, so problem solved! Happy with the Blendjet.
I was gifted a Blendtec years ago, 2013. It wasn't very good. When I got the chance to get a Vitamix on sale in 2015, I did and haven't regretted it yet. $350 over 8 years is $45 per year, so far. Well worth the price. I enjoy watching your channel. I, too, like you, live here in Vegas.
Wondering how well those would have done with breaking down ice for a cold smoothy or iced coffee this summer. Would also like to see how the larger Blendjet does. Maybe a future review?
Used to work in a milkshake place, and Snickers were the worst thing to blend. The $800 blenders we had struggled with them (and 125ml of milk and 3 scoops of ice cream). We would have to cut them up into slices before putting them in.
This is a New Product and may fail Quickly, Stop charging sooner, loose battery power faster Etc. It still may be a total fail in the long run. Only time will tell.
I have a BlendJet. I purchased 4 of them, one for me and the others for relatives. What a waste of money 😡 No matter what I put in it... bananas, blueberries, strawberries, ice, etc., it gets stuck. It's just sitting on the shelf now, as it is for the relatives I gave them to. Save your money on these crappy items and buy a Nutrabullet. I have one and that thing is a BEAST!! I ❤ it. Don't waste money on BlendJet or the other pice of crap. I'm thanful for reviews like this. They've saved me a lot of digits. .
My Blend Jet 1 works very well. I have done my drinks twice if there were any chunks. I had one blend jet for three years, one for two, and one for 1year. The 3 year old one quit working recently, so I just ordered a new one. Can it be repaired? I enjoy the many concoctions I have made. BTW, the 3yr old one is my personal one. The two yr. One is my husband’s, and the other is my son in law’s. I bought three others for my son and his family. They take theirs on their hikes, and to the beach. We all use ours often! Thanks for sharing😊
Blendjet 2 has a pulse feature. And it is amazing how the light can tell you many things like when the food is stuck it will turn red, when you lock/unlock it, when switching to pulse mode.
Two issues with these blender tests. Who is blending fresh fruit? Most people blend cheaper frozen fruit (better nutrition, always 'in-season' besides stuff like added bananas and greens. Second, the amount of liquid you add may be right for what the instructions say, but its not a smoothie anymore, its basically watered down puree. Same deal with the snickers milkshake, it wasnt thick like it was advertised, it was soupy milk+chunk of snickers. These devices dont actually replace a blender.
Great review, I'm still using my Osterizer®, 45yrs old. Liquid first, ingredients next , then ice, 3/4 full. Every few days ,put the 2nd & 3rd glass in frig with lids. ,or in freezer..
Funny how people don’t load them right. Most state it clearly in the direction. It makes a huge difference how hard the machine has to work. As well as how well it actually works if loaded right!
I have a blendjet 2 and it's still going strong! Can't make anything too thick clearly, but for a smoothie or to blend a protein shake with some soft fruit, it works great for me ^-^
Would like to see a review on Vigor stainless steel cookware, It is made for commercial users, but what's wrong with using in home kitchens? Can't find a review anywhere except manufacturer's own review!
James, another great review! Your review has already founds its way to the number one position when Googled. I would go the route of paying less and having more blender room than paying extra for less space. In the end, they're both made in the same part of the world (and probably by the same manufacturer).
Infomercial was Blendjet...lol. you forgot the blendjet comes in a bunch of colors, does the bionic blend? Great review, as always!! Smiles and blessings...
I love your glasses! I'm leaning more towards the BlendJet. I spend WAY too much time going through reviews sometimes but I want to compare!!! LOL! Sometimes I'm still conflicted! LOL!
I knew it was going to end in tears (figuratively speaking) when he announced he chose a Snickers as the candy bar for the test. A cold (ice cream and milk) Snickers would get fairly tough and thick (nougat and caramel especially, but the nuts wouldn't help either). Something less dense like a Twix or Mr Big would have been more friendly, but it's the advertiser's fault for promoting its ability to blend candy bars and ice cream to make a shake when it's definitely not powerful enough to do it with any sort of reliability.
Caramel and Taffey from candy and other gooey sticky liquids like very dense syrups can wrap around blades at room temperature or separate out by weight and sink to the bottom of blend. Some separate faster as they get colder with ice cubes or cold liquid present. Anyway the blades are impaired by the sticky liquid. Chopping up candy bars and shaking throughout might be better for the portables. However, depending on whats holding the candy bar together you never know what might mass together and fall out. Freezing the candy bar first makes its binder more brittle and it blends better but you might get some thin short to long strings of slime in your blend but they are easier to consume than lumps and easier on the blender. That said, who knows what combination of blend speed, temperature and liquid it takes to truly puree a candy bar. Sometimes the ads that say just use your favorite are not good examples for DIY smoothies these are always experimental. I hope I spelled everything right. Sorry for the long observation.
Great comparison James; I think I would rather spend a little less and go with the bionic blade; the larger capacity is a huge plus. I look forward to hearing an update after continued use; I hope it holds up to all the abuse you can throw at it.
that first second of the video, sent me laughing to the moon for some reason. Just the laugh and the akimbo blenders just cracked me up. Thanks for the review!
I've solved the problem both of those units have with power. I added a power cord so I could plug the thing in and just resigned myself to, like, not blend things on the go. Fortunately I've never wanted nor have I needed to blend things on the go, so I can't say I'm really missing much!
You're missing out. I carry one of these bad boys in my car waiting for the day a semi-truck carrying fruit crashes. I will then be able to deliver a fresh, chunky but also watery 'smoothie' to the driver while he is waiting for an ambulance.

Thanks so much for doing this video. I’ve been wanting to know which ones better. Can you please do a video on the my pillow 2.0? Your videos are the best of all RUclips testing videos the longer and more information the better, and you explain it all. Thanks for all your hard work that you do and your thoroughness and honesty. please give Bailey and Elle a hug for me😊.I love when their in your videos. Been watching since the flawless hair remover video premiered that’s how I found your channel. I’ve been watching and subscribed ever since.
That was definitely an honest test. I just bought Bionic blade and it wouldn't charge and I could not line up the red arrows, not even close. I'll try your blue one as I like the idea of small, portable, easy to clean. My Ninja is great but for one portion of anything, it's more work to clean it out than it's worth. Thx
I'm surprised you didn't do ice or frozen fruit. The BlendJet can handle that stuff. I do appreciate the tip with the BlendJet tilt though! I didn't think to do that, so thank you!
I have the original BlendJet that is used for making smoothies, and it hasn't really failed. The problem with making a Snickers ice cream shake is that the caramel hardens after being mixed with the ice cream. I'm not sure why they would advertise this, seeing as that is the reason the Bionic Blade kept getting stuck. However, for what I would use it for, I wouldn't mind saving $20 and getting the Bionic Blade. There's just something about carrying around the entire blender with the blade and drinking from it that I don't like. However, my BlendJet still works fine to this day.
My wife wanted a portable blender for work and I had considered purchasing a Blend Jet 2, although it seems like it still has a few small amount of issues that make it less desirable as a potable blender. The Bionic Blade doesn't seem like it's the best choice either. There's dozens of these type of blenders on Amazon, I purchased one (BOSICTE Personal Size Blender) that seemed like it had similar or better power than the Blend Jet 2, it comes today. It would be fun to see you with several of the best rated portable blenders from Amazon and the two you just reviewed and do a double elimination competition and see who is really the big dog in portable blenders. PS love the reviews, If I haven't seen them all it's pretty close, keep it up, they're very entertaining and enjoyable.
I know that the ooey-gooey Snickers was a great test of how things get caught up on the blades, but I would like to see you use a Butterfinger. It's crunchy interior should show off the real ability of blending the soft ice cream with a harder candy.
Hey James! I loved this video and the time you take to demonstrate both models. I just found out about Ninja having their own portable blender called the Ninja Blast! I’d love to see a review on it if you get the chance, or if this idea sounds interesting.
In would run them 2 times in a row to get it smooth. So idk if it wpuld matter too much. I feel that the blend jet just for the faster charging and the design is preferable with it allowing to drink right from it without spillage
One thing I noticed. Was that you kept having to shake the other blended when it would get stuck, but not the Blend Jet. Chances are that also effected the end results of both products
One really big problem for the Bionic Blade is you have to be a very strong person to open it. I have arthritis and have to fight to get it apart and then closed as well as lining up the arrows. What fun!!
Do these blenders not crush ice? Maybe I missed it? I think the container size plates a factor in the chopping like you said. I think either device is fine.
I have the BlendJet 2 and find I reach for it over my corded blender-just nice not having to uncoil the cord and plug it in. One advantage to the Bionic you didn't emphasize is how much easier it was to dislodge the stuck candy bar and blend again. When a cucumber or other chunk else gets caught in my BlendJet I need to dislodge it with something like a chopstick (after un-aligning the arrows for safety). With the Bionic you clearly could just knock it off with the side of the cup and go back to blending-plus you can SEE what you are dislodging unlike under the opaque drink you had in the BlendJet. I'll keep my eyes open for the Bionic 2 should the company stay alive long enough to improve the charging time and battery power. But for now I have something that works.
My Bionic Blender came with a lid with a pouring spout for travel plus the lid for drinking. I haven't tried it yet because I was having a hard time putting the blade on. I loved your test and I won't be trying to blend a candy bar. Also the Bionic Blade suggest doing 2 blends. I only had it for a few days but I'll let you know when I update this comment.
The ice cream coming in contact with the candy bar causes the chocolate and caramel to solidify/freeze before you even try blending. The caramel is fickle enough at room temp, let alone being frozen.
My favorite recipe for my ninja blender is frozen fruit, sugar, to taste, and a little bit of milk. Blended together, and you get like instant ice cream! No chunks at all.
You should do a review/comparison to the Ninja Blast. I have the blendjet 2.0 and seems to require alot more charging than I expected. I've been using it with revive superfoods smoothies and honestly struggles a bit.
I wouldn't like to have to carry the bionic blade around with me. I bought my blend jet on special offer. It doesn't bother me if I have to shake it up and give something a second whirl to get the consistency I want. I can use it anywhere and drink right out of it, keeping the lid on half it. The locking feature means it's not going to start blending again by accident. An easy shape to pack in my bag. I did only gey the 14oz jar so I will buy the 20oz one as well. It does take 1.5 hours to recharge but I top-up charge it so I don't ever have to wait that time.
Right off the bat, I prefer the blender that doesn't require me to flip it around before blending, that's just frustrating, the dry sticks to the sides, it's a whole thing!
On the dry nuts, I was waiting for you to shake it (BlendJet) at least once but you didn’t. You did give the Bblade a quick shake at one point so it wasn’t exactly the same test.
Hello I have one but now it don"t work i don"t know how to fix it. i hit the botton but not work just make the light but not work, do you know how to fix it
I really enjoy your videos. I actually bought my husband one of those FF & ketchup car holder. I bought one of those hand blenders for my hubby but he doesn't care for it.
13:55 second round for both my arse you have being helping the bionic all the way with shaking it all the time and still gave bionic more blends on the mats bar
I have a Bionic Blade 6 piece set. It came with 1 blender, 2 travel cups (26 oz. each) 2 sip lids and 1 sport lid (which has a handle for carrying). It cost $39.99 plus tax

I have the blendjet 2 and absolutely love it. As long as you load it right and use it as instructed it’s awesome.
The ice cream/candy bar thing might have worked better with no milk in it.
I revisit both BlendJet reviews occasionally for the guest appearance. 🥺
I have the Blendjet 2. I love it. Got them for my kids for Xmas last. It’s so convenient. Better then dragging out the big blender.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I just can't picture a snickers doing well in any blender, never mind an underpowered mini battery powered blender.
As an old-timer, seeing the word bionic in titles, I am expecting a different kind of demo. We can rebuild him, we have the technology.
Oscar Goldman should be the pitch man. It would be amusing once you press the button on the bionic blade it makes the bionic sound.
I would love to try one
I wonder if you ran the blendjet for the extra 10 seconds if it would've been further ahead
I literally got an ad for the blendjet 2 right before the video started
Same
One thing I noticed.
Another great, informative video! I do have to say I have never needed a portable blender....
The commercial at 11:54 was for the BlendJet Blender 2! LOL
I still use and love my BlendJet 2 thanks to this channel
I just flip my BJ2 over and everything drops!
Someone know I where I can get replacement cups for the bionic blade blender?
When you pour out the liquid maybe run it through a mesh strainer to help show chunks easier
Thanks for sharing your thoughts❤
I’m a first time watcher so maybe you covered this before but I was wondering how either one of these handle ice? Thanks
The ice cream coming in contact with the candy bar causes the chocolate and caramel to solidify/freeze before you even try blending. The caramel is fickle enough at room temp, let alone being frozen.
Keep up the good work. Love the compare vids.
Can you review the nutribullet go and might as well compare to blend jet2
what are those silver and black boxes behind him?
Wow, it’s practically giving guitar feedback sounds on the Bionic one. But I love Kitchenaid and that just isn’t new..❤😂 nice candid review!
I have the blendjet 2 with the bigger container. I found the one that came with it too small for me. I use it to make cheese sauce mostly.
5:21 - How is that "pretty close"? There's almost double the amount of carrot let in the blendjet vs the bionic blade.
Hello I have one but now it don"t work i don"t know how to fix it. i hit the botton but not work just make the light but not work, do you know how to fix it
Glad you did this. Saw and ad and wonder how they compared. Not that I'm interested in either.
Might try that ice cream candy bar recipe with my Vitamix (single smoothie cup)
I really enjoy your videos. I actually bought my husband one of those FF & ketchup car holder. I bought one of those hand blenders for my hubby but he doesn't care for it.
What about the cleanup comparison? I saw a commercial for the blend jet that you just use water and dish soap to clean it
I’d have liked to seen a test making a frappe type coffee drink with ice cubes. Which one would more fully blend up the ice?
you were helping the Bionic Blade out way too much! Poor Blendjet 😂
