Do you have a battery powered travel blender? If so, which one? If you liked this review, you might like this one of the Ninja Foodi Power Blender Ultimate System: ruclips.net/video/VDHLPfgmCSM/видео.html
I have a BlendJet... When considering getting one, be advised... while the product may be a decent one, the company has TERRIBLE customer service. I purchased two from Costco and there was a recall on them. As part of the recall process, I had to destroy parts of the base to render them un-usable. I've been waiting since December 2023 for replacement and the company just keeps giving the same response of "sorry for the delay". Do a search and you'll find there are many, many people in the same circumstance. Buyer beware!
Try reading the instructions. When its stuck, turn it upside down, THEN turn it on, and turn it back upright. I mean its even in the instructions. Nobody wants to read anymore, I've had no trouble with mine
I bought the sipper lid. You can put the sipper lid on tip and turn the blender upside down and remove the base. Then you can screw on the original lid and have the portability without the base.
Well that's pretty ingenious. Good tip for the viewers. Thanks! I saw that in their store, but I didn't include it for the review since I was trying to just keep it to what comes in the box.
It seems fairly obvious that you already had a negative opinion before you started. If you read the directions, they recommend letting the fruit thaw for 5 to 10 seconds for an easier blend. For the price, it's fine for the convenience of a portable blender. Shaking it a bit once or twice during blending isn't quite as onerous as you would like us to believe. There's a sipping lid available, but if I make a particularly thick drink, a large smoothie straw is easy to use in the open container. I can't see why you wouldn't finish your drink in one sitting (it's not like you're blending a gallon), but how hard is it to pour into another container for storage? And what was the point of complaining about the process of making nut butter when you stated that it wasn't part of the product's uses? I'm very satisfied with my BlendJet 2 and feel your nit-picking lacked objectivity.
Most people expect blenders to handle frozen ingredients. That's why that was included in there. I was sure to stress that fact that it isn't for that. If you feel I had a negative opinion from that start, I suppose that's fair, but I suspect that your opinion on thta might be a little intensified because you like it. That's totally cool. I get that way myself about things as well. I didn't have a negative opinion of it that way though... Otherwise I wouldn't have played down the money for it. I did mention that it's decent for what it's designed for though and thta it just wasn't for me... I also prefaced the review by saying not to go by just my opinion since everyone values different things and to check out other reviews also before making any kind of decisions. I know they have the sipping lid, but it doesn't come with it, so I can't comment on that much... Finishing in one sitting should be expected if you're talking about a travel blender... At least in my case, 14oz would be a single serve... But maybe I'm just a hog or something... Lol... Anyway, I do appreciate your critiques... I always take all that into account and try to do better next time. I'm glad you took the time to comment.

I too have been disappointed in its handling of frozen fruit & other ingredients. Seems like the advertising video alluded to its ease of handling those ingredients ?
First: If all else fails, read the included instructions. Second: The directions state to pour your liquid in first. Third: The instructions explain how to fix a blade “jam”. Fourth: You can purchase the drinking lid & the insulated sleeve.
Heya Frost. Thanks for chiming in. All valid concerns. I did follow the instructions in the little booklet, actually. Yes, you pour liquid in first, and that is because it helps different types of stuff blend properly when you have a lot of ingredients with different textures. In this case, it was pretty much just frozen fruit and milk. Regardless of what order you put those into the container, you will still have both of those things positioned the same way in there regardless of what goes in first. Also, if wouldn't have really mattered in that smoothie test, because the blade stopped instantly. It never really even tried to turn. My guess is that it got caught on the end of a strawberry right away and that's what caused it. Frozen strawberries can be harder than ice, and that would be asking a lot of a portable blender to power through that. I mentioned in the video that it shouldn't really be counted against that blender too much though, because it isn't designed to handle stuff that hard, and I was only including that for people would end up asking about that if I didn't put it in there. The extra liquid in the second round of that helped quite a bit, but then it stopped due to the mix just getting a little too thick for it. The blade jam fixes in the instructions didn't help in this case. I had to end up pouring everything out, manually turning the blade, and then plugging the blender in to reset it in order to get it to work again. I saw the lids and sleeves on their website, and although those are good accessories, I couldn't really use that in the review since they don't come with it. Adding those in will also bring the cost up, and then it gets into price ranges of higher end portables. Definitely, I should have mentioned it anyway, so that was a mistake on my part. I don't hate the blender though. It has a niche that it can fill really well. The whole point was to make sure people don't expect it to do everything that a countertop blender can do since there are always people that think that.
To be fair though, putting the liquid in first like the directions say does make a difference. It's bc it keeps some of the weight of the frozen/solid items off of the blades directly. When you put the solids in first it's compacting onto the blades harder. You're also supposed to flip it upside down and press the button to start blending it while it's upside down to free the blades and then turn it back over WHILE it's blending.@@JoesPhenomenal
@thedisnerd4296 also the liquid going in first naturally limits the amount of other ingredients that fit in there.. Probably helps tons. Agree with ya though! 😊
I love my BlendJets. Started out with one for myself, ended up getting 12 more for gifts. I also ended up getting another one for myself for at the office. I found when blending frozen fruit, turn it as it's blending. I never stick knives or spoons in the blender, I don't want to ruin the blades. Just make sure you have enough liquid in the blender when doing the frozen fruit. Remember, it's not a full size blender, and it won't do what a full size blender does. Trim your expectations and enjoy :)
That's awesome that you gave those out at gifts... You are a super thoughtful person to have done that. The way you described your use with the Blendjet2 sounds exactly like what is it DESIGNED to do. Slightly thawed frozen stuff... Lots of liquid... Not expecting full size blender results... That's kinda the point I was trying to get across.
Planning on getting this for college, I get that it’s not the vitamix at home, but to be able to still make protein drinks from powder instead of buying the premade drinks seems like it will work for the job I want it for.
Good product, but TERRIBLE customer service. I purchased two from Costco and there was a recall on them. As part of the recall process, I had to destroy parts of the base to render them un-usable. I've been waiting since December 2023 for replacement and the company just keeps giving the same response of "sorry for the delay". Tried it that way too.... It just didn't like doing it. It's not really designed for that kind of stuff though, so it's not really too much of a knock against it per se.
I’ve have two BlendJets and they’re still going great after two years! It’s rechargeable- in Australia, our powerbpards have USB sockets, so the cable is fine. You have a choice of lids that you clearly haven’t seen. The charge port is on the front so you can see when it’s fully charged. I love my Blendjet2! 😍❤️❤️🇦🇺
I saw those lids on the website... Good stuff. Unfortunately, I had to review is based on what comes with it. Probably could have mentioned it though for sure. Glad you're enjoying it! That's the important part.
Have Blendjet 2 for about a month, with no problems. I made sure to read the directions carefully, and made all the things you tried here, with no difficulties - frozen fruits, crushed ice, multiple ingredients, etc. Important to put the liquid in first! And don't stuff all the contents in all the way to the brim. I think you'll get way better results.
Typically, yes... very true. If you're only dealing with a couple of ingredients, it doesn't make that much difference, It's mainly to make sure things don't go unblended. If you're doing a thicker smoothie with frozen fruit, that fruit will most likely not float.. and if that's the case, it won't make a difference... Just depends how thick you like your smoothies. The Blendet isn't designed for super Jamba Juice style thick frozen smoothies though. That's ok though. That's not what it's for... Doesn't mean that I think it's a bad blender. Just that people can't expect it to do that sort of thing, because I suspected a lot of people would try to. That's the only reason I included that.
Blendjet now has a “Orbiter Drinking Lid” for ease of of drinking from the blender. Also, you can buy the extra large 32 oz jar that attaches to the standard blender and increases the capacity.
Heya crimson.. Saw those. Good stuff, but I had to stick with what came with it for the review, otherwise the price gets into higher end blenders. I probably could have mentioned that in the video though. Thanks for the heads up though!
I have the original BlendJet, and I love it! It's really strong, and it quits after about 20 seconds. I plug mine into the same plug that I use for my phone. (Yes, it really should have come with one.) Best jobs are small smoothies, dalgona coffee, and whipping heavy cream. To clean, pour in some water. Add tiny bit of dish soap. Fill up with more water. Blend. When it quits, rinse completely, then fill up again. Blend. Done! I do not drink out of this. It is a BLENDER. I drink out of a GLASS.
I add the liquid first. Then the powder. Then the fruit. Then the ice. To un-jam, shake it, flip it upside down, turn it on, and slowly move it back to upright position while blending. Orbiter lid is available for purchase. To clean, just blend some warm water + a drop of soap. 😉
If you would have been using this thing as instructions say, maybe you would not destroy it. For frozen fruits and stuff, well liquid always goes in first, and before you start blending, you can turn it upside down, then press the button, then turn it back, so it will not get stuck so easily.
Hmm... That sound like a pretty ingenious idea. There might be a lot of dripping coming off the blade that way though... Dunno. Maybe a little messy. I think I'll try it anyways!
I did... Didn't work for the jams. Nut butters were problematic due to the size of the blades. That did a lot better with added oil, but without that, it was a little too much for it.
I love my BlendJet II, I purchased the next sized cylinder and the lid that has a swivel spout for more comfortable drinking from the blender, It’s just right for my OPTAVIA smoothies and ice cream. Just right for one serving, So to answer your concern about having to unscrew the lid to drink, and having to drink over the threads, BlendJet II has a solution for both - they just come at an additional price which I was happy to pay since it wasn’t very much. They also have a carry bag that can clip onto your bag, or slip inside your bag.😊
I bought one for my wife and shortly after they had a recall, which required her to destroy the product and provide proof so they could send a replacement… well that was almost a year ago and we never got the replacement and they refuse to give a refund stating that they will provide a replacement at some point they just can’t provide a date. What a garbage company
@garheard7337 well it's good too see that there are people getting them replaced. Online comments can get misleading since people that were taken care of will usually just not say anything.
@ there’s an overwhelming amount of people that have not been taken care of. In fact, there’s a Facebook group with thousands of members all that have been ripped off by this company.
What i would do is pulse it a bit before just going straight to blending an i even do that with my big blender to i find it makes a better blend for all blenders households or travel ones.
Agreed... The problem was that with the frozen stuff it was sort of an insta-stop as soon as you hit the button..I did try pulsing it also, but that footage didn't make it in since it was kind of the same. It really hated those strawberries being in there.. It worked great on the banana smoothie though... Nice texture too. If I leave the strawberries out and just with the smaller stuff, it was a lot better off too.
Btw mine was recalled. Mine broke after 2 weeks. So just left it for 3 years. Now it was blessing in disguise. 300 reports of fires and exploding blades. Glad I didn't get hurt or cut.
It's not a Vitamix. They show fresh fruit being blended. And the port in the front with the button just may be because it was an easier design to have the electric parts on one side. Don't forget there's a motor in there that's doing all the work.
I thought the port location was a little funny since the Ninja Blast does have it on the back... Otherwise I'd agree with ya on that one. The only reason the frozen fruit stuff is in there is so people thta expect it to power through that stuff would know it might not be right for them.
Thank you for testing out more things unlike what the others want, I want to know if it can do MORE stuff the blender menu says it can and you did exactaly that.
Might have been the strawberries it was having trouble with. Those freeze pretty hard. Otherwise, I'm not sure. It seemed like it was getting stuck weirdly easy on those.
I love my Blend jet, portable, easy to use, holds a good charge, and blends very well. When blending frozen items you have to make sure you have enough liquid to get things started, DO NOT EXPECT THE SAME POWER AS A COUNTER TOP PLUG IN! it's perfect for light weight mixes like protein powders, etc. *I APPROVE THIS PRODUCT
The problem with the blender wasn't the stack order. It was fine with the softer stuff small frozen fruits, but the larger, hard frozen strawberries gave it some fits. Still a decent little blender though, and it's isn't really designed for hard blends anyway, so I woudn't knock it for that... Definitely has it's uses though!
@@JoesPhenomenal I have a blendjet 2 and it handles most things Ive throw at it within reason. Mine definitely does better with the liquid first then solids as specified by instructions. its definitely a good little portable blender
Wow! Thanks so much for this honest review! Saved me from a major miss and wasted money. I am only going to use frozen fruits and their ads alludes to that being a breeze which I suspected a battery powered blender will not at all manage. Thank you for confirming my suspicion!
Hi. Thanks! It's not a terrible blender at all. It just depends on what you are trying to get out of it. If you're like me, and you like really thick frozen smoothies, it has trouble with those. Thinner stuff, and green smoothies and such come out pretty nice though.
Not quite a year. They tell me I am out of warranty. I thought that was for a year. They have not been helpful at all. A waste of money in my opinion and not backed up by the company when something goes wrong. I checked twice and my model was not subject to the recall.
I have a Ninja portable blender ( Ninja Blast) I have bought it for a few days now actually after your unboxing video and I am happy with it so far. I am waiting for your opinion about it in the next video.
Hi Joe I just got one today for Christmas I got it charging now for an hour. I got it as a gift and I'm just going to make homemade milkshakes in it. Thank you for showing how it works with Frozen items. Have a happy holiday 🍶🍨
They have a top that has a swivel mouth piece you drink out of . I love mine , it is so convenient and I have a carry case as well. I say it's worth the purchase and it blends my smoothie with no problem
Thanks, Susie! It's definitely convenient. The swivel top would have been awesome if they included that with the blender, IMO. I don't think it's a bad blender per se... Just not for people expecting it to do hard blends like a countertop blender. That's the only reason I did that test on it.
I just purchased one. The description reads blendjet 2 bit the packaging reads just blendjet no num. I'm not sure if it's the crappy old one or the new improved one. Please advise? Thank you.
I ordered 2 Blendjets and an assortment of accessories due to the 30 day money back guarantee. Well it didn't work as advertised at all. Would not crush ice. Wouldn't even blend frozen fruit! I immediately asked for a refund and their customer service said return shipping is not covered! Do not waste your money on this product! I had to use my Magic Bullet to complete the Smoothie. It is a great idea, but the BlendJet falls terribly short of their projections!
You can do it, but you need quite a bit of liquid in there first to make sure it can blend. That being said, I like them a lot thicker than doing that can really make them.
Yes... There is a recall where the blades can come off and the motor can also catch on fire. Here is a link to the consumer product safety commission's website. It will give you the details, which serial numbers are affected, and how to go about getting a replacement. www.cpsc.gov/Recalls/2024/BlendJet-Recalls-4-8-Million-BlendJet-2-Portable-Blenders-Due-to-Fire-and-Laceration-Hazards
OH! EXTRA TIP: This might still annoying, but if you plan to blend a lot, as soon as you start blending, stick the charger back in. You do have to keep taking it back out before you blend again, but unless you plan to blend and blend and blend, you won't need to do this. Also, don't forget to charge ahead!
I saw that... It would have been awesome if they included that one but I couldn't really use that for the review since it's an add-on... But still, I should have mentioned it.
I had bought this thing second-hand... When I got it, I wasn't even sure what to do with it once it was in my hand. Now, I have had some other ideas since my $7 purchase... Will it make a smoothie?, sure, but with FRESH fruit, not frozen so well. It's not a Ninja. So the other plans I have, first off, salad dressing. That should be a task this thing can handle with no issue at all. Marinara had been another outlook. Undoubtedly, one of the first things I could be honestly excited about with this is the ability to make oat milk for fractions of a cent. It might be able to handle making almond milk, but for that the almonds will have to sit a bit longer then the usual day in water to soak, about 36hrs or so, but not any longer than that.
If you put liquid in first it works with frozen fruit.. also you are supposed to turn upside down and blend upside down to get the frozen stuff unstuck
The problem with the blender wasn't the stack order. It was fine with the softer stuff small frozen fruits, but the larger, hard frozen strawberries gave it some fits. Tried the upside down thing, and the shaking during blends, but those strawberries were the devil. Still a decent little blender though, and it's isn't really designed for hard blends anyway, so I woudn't knock it for that... Definitely has it's uses though!
They really dropped the ball on that recall of theirs too. Evidently, they aren't sendind replacements. I have a feeling that they might be going under.
I like to add frozen fruit or ice to my smoothies/shakes, so the blendjet annoys me that it can't handle a couple cubes. I live in Arizona, so extra cold smoothies are the only way to go. Also, I bought a 2 pack at Costco and they were recalled. I got them to send one replacement which arrived about 6 months after I submitted for replacement, still haven't gotten the second one replaced. I feel like it's been about a year now.
Would not buy again...underpowered, especially when using frozen or semi-frozen fruit...have to dump everything in a cup and pry out the frozen fruit from the blades and keep doing this until it mixes...no thanks. Going to buy something with a cord and more power, was hoping for something better.
Yeah, it’s really not designed for a frozen fruit smoothie. I just got mine for Christmas and I’ll find a purpose for it but like most machines out, there are capable of killing a smoothie. The Vitamix I have is the only one you can’t kill a smoothie as long as you don’t ground it with liquid and can completely emulsify the ingredients into a smooth creamy texture 👍🏻😉
@@ctpreddog1411 for that though... Super convenient... I think the Ninja Blast is better suited for that than this one is, but the Blendjet has better features and a better size, imo.
@@JoesPhenomenal well, I just got done making a smoothie with that machine. I only filled it about 2/3 of the way I’ll let it sit for a little bit to thaw some and then added milk about 3/4 of the way up on the ingredients because I don’t like a lot of liquid it makes it too watery and then did a lot of shaking and repeat running, but eventually came out good.
The reason why the frozen fruit did not work in the 2nd example is because the instructions say add liquids 1sr. These are the same in instructions that come with a BlendTec, Vitamin, and/or Ninja. Blender. Frozen fruits work fine on mine as long as I add my liquid first.
Yeah.... That's a nightmare. I can't even imagine what kind of losses that's going to amount to. It seems like the newer ones aren't affected though. Mine wasn't part of the recall.
I have 2 blendjet 2s and to be fair, it seems to struggle a bit with the standard 16 oz jar. I upgraded to a 32 oz jar and seem to not get any jam ups with frozen fruit, but me personally i add the liquid before i add the fruit, then i let it sit for a minute or 2 before blending. Yes you are correct, its definitely not a replacement for an electric blender, but for what it does, im satisfied with it. Thanks for your review
I love my blendjet2 , very convenient for a single person. I even bought a new one cause the one I had stopped working, I stopped using it, I storage it for a few months and when I was trying to go back to use it, it didn't wanna work anymore, so I just ordered a new one
You need 8 oz of liquid for it to mix completely. Maybe you should have used it more before you did the review. And reading the instructions might have been worth your time.
Heya Paul... Read all that.. The problem was that 8oz of liquid is way too much to produce super thick smoothies... I did mention in the review that the blender isn't designed for that kind of thing though. It's a great little blender... People just can't expect it to perform like a powerful tabletop one. That was just in the video to show people not to expect it to be able do that sort of thing. Otherwise it would disappoint people that wanted that.
All ya gotta do is add a little detergent to it and blend warm water and it pretty much takes care of it. If you're looking for a portable, I'd probably look more at something like the Ninja Blast though. Blendjet has got a big problem with recalls right now, and it looks like they're not really satisfying their customers with it... Kinda rough.
I'd think it would make a decent gym blender for your protein shake afterwards, but I kinda feel like a shaker bottle is more convenient for that unless you wanna throw a couple of pieces of frozen fruit it there.... Meaning like 2
Yeah.... It doesn't seem like it takes a whole lot of torque to jam it up. I was using hard frozen stuff though, just trying to show that it wasn't made for hard blending, but that raw pineapple thing is a whole different story.
I never had any problem using blendjet 2 as i only using it as a PORTABLE blender not as an actual kitchen blender. Like what you have mentioned, it should not replace your existing kitchen blender, right? if i really want to crush some frozen fruits, bones or nuts i'd still use my regular kitchen blender because why the hell i would do it if i am on the run or on the road? it's not like, "hey i saw some bones and nuts, let's crush them with a portable blender." And lastly, all products have limitations pushing their limits will sure be disappointing and a waste of time.
Sounds like you are using it the EXACT way it was designed for. For that stuff it works great. The tough stuff in the video was meant more to show what you shouldn't expect from it, than being a critique.
I brought it for juicing and occasionally thaw frozen fruit, I don’t except it to make thick smoothie or to blend frozen stuff well. You definitely need to add enough water unless the fruit that you’re blending have a lot of liquid then you can decrease the amount of liquid. Otherwise, even cucumber or watermelon will get stuck if they are at a weird angle. Shaking it is almost mandatory. I got it for the small size, not making smoothies, expectations that it won’t blend as well as a full size blender. Otherwise you’ll be very disappointed, it serves the purpose for me so I’m satisfied.
Yep... well said. It did fine even with frozen fruit, just as long as I didn't put in those giant frozen strawberries. All depends on what you expect out of it. That's the only reason I did the super frozen smoothie in there...just for people that were expecting to use it that way. Thanks for checking it out!
I bought the Blendjet to use at work. Email sent about recall, complete the form, cut the seal and take a picture. Throw the base away and they would replace my blender. Their customer service no service never sent my replacement or answered my emails.
That's awesome that they took care of you on that. I saw a lot of people were having trouble with the recall. How long did they take to get your replacements to ya?
This works better than a plug-in blender. I have the blend Jet too the Mickey Mouse one I read all the instructions it goes right through the iced smoothies I make even frozen fruits you just need to read you did a lot of mistakes but if you read you would’ve had no problems….
I have a Vitamix and I paid over $700 for it and sometimes if I have big frozen strawberries it binds and I need to play with it a bit to blend them properly but usually I just let them thaw a bit overnight. That said I love it. Now this is a fraction of the price and your expectations are that it will do the same. That's unrealistic & not how it's marketed. Most likely if you're taking it to make a smoothie at the gym work etc the fruit has thawed somewhat because it's not refrigerated....
@lornabell8177 Heya Lorna. Yep.. Exactly the point I was making. People are invariably going to buy one of these and expect too much. It wasn't meant to poo poo the blender, just to make sure people don't have unreasonable expectations for it. It makes an awesome gym blender.
If you leave the lid on it you can turn it upside down and take the base off and drink. Or order a different lid so you can drink out of it. But I prefer not to use the special lid. I just don't like it. I have 6 blendjet 2's and absolutely love them my 2 15 year olds each have their own and they love them also. Use them daily for my protein shakes. My daughter makes protein shakes and regular shakes and slushies. We have made pudding with it, Scrambled eggs, cake mix, applesauce. The threads when you drink from a bottle of water or a bottle of pop the threads are there what's the problem?
It helps if you read and follow the instructions for the product. There's even a video version if you don't want to read. You are not properly using the blendjet, so you're creating your own problems and misinforming your viewers.
I got one and I use 1-2 frozen strawberries 🍓 and protein powered and oat milk, seems like if you over fill it well you seen the results. It’s not design to take all those frozen fruits. So not surprise it bind up…
Heya... Thanks for watching. Yes... Definitely not designed for that. I mentioned that in the video a couple of times and said that I was only doing it to show people that were going to try to use it that way what would happen and that it shouldn't be counted against it. Wasn't made for that purpose.
Looksnlike he didn't read the user manual before showing how to unstick the frozen strawberries. And it is a single serve blender. SonI don't know why he complained that you can't put a lot in it. He makes good point that it doesnt have a drinkable lid.
Heya.... The instructions on the unstick wouldn't work for me on the one. Had to end up plugging it into power to get it to start back up again. Seemed ok after that though. The capacity thing was more related to the fact that I had a Ninja Blast I was working on at the same time, and it holds quite a bit more.... Wasn't really meant to be a gripe though... I just tend to make big smoothies since I'm a total hog.
Nifty but so small, and as mentioned, you have to shake it around to get it to blend well. I far prefer regular blender unless for some reason, one would want to carry a blender around with them.
piece of crap it works great on liquid but does not work with frozen fruit. This product was intended to make my life easier not to create a 20-minute fruit smoothie. This was intended to use at work. Unfortunately, I can't get it to work at home how do I get a REFUND?
Well, if ya just got it, there's always returns... In it's defense, it's not really designed for the hard frozen stuff. Ninja makes one called the Blast that handles the frozen stuff a little better, but it's not perfect.
@@victorquezada9357 it did.... A lot of that didn't make final edits, but there was plenty of that.. Didn't help the nut butter at all, helped in the smoothie with the frozen fruit a bit, but only in the second test. Was gonna include that footage, but the camera wouldnt focus with it shaking around that much.
You are adding too much frozen fruit. If your peanut butter is stuck, leave the top on, turn the unit over and unscrew the bottom. You are right this is for easy blends or smoothies. I love mine.
Hi, Maria. That was done on purpose to show what would happen if you try to use it to make really thick smoothie shop style shakes. I mentioned that it wasn't really for that, so it wasn't really a knock against it, but I included that for people that wanted it for something like that so they would know they would need to get something beefier for that kind of thing. It's a neat little blender though. I think the Ninja Blast is a little stronger, but I like the Blendjet's features a lot more... especially the control lock. Glad you're liking it! Which color did you buy?
I saw that on their website. I had to do the review based on what you get in the box, but I should have mentioned that there were options there for a few bucks. Thanks!
Don't waste your $. I bought a set from Costco, and after a few days of using it, the charger port has burned out. I returned and Costco is no longer selling them.
I'm surprised you found them over there. Blendjet is in the middle of a terrible PR nightmare with recalls due to that and a couple of other things and not replacing the bad units. Costco is wise to not want to deal with that. It looks almost like Blendjet is TRYING to wreck their own company.
I will start with I have three blendjets. I travel with them all the time. It is perfect for my protein drink after the gym. I agree with a few comments. I prefer a different lid, and to buy a lid with a drink spout, they are selling them for a ridiculous price. It will blend some frozen fruit but less than he put in, but after a year, I know what I like, and the blendjet works for my needs. I take it camping and it makes a great margarita! I rarely charge my jet but I also have backups, :)
Sounds like you use it almost exactly that way it's meant to be used. Having the backups available in case you run the battery out is epic! Margaritas on a camping trip makes it worth it all by itself. Lol
Read the instructions! It isn’t a problem at all not having an adaptor. Surely you have adapters you can use!! You can plug it in anywhere. Why is it so difficult having to take the lid off to drink it. You don’t have to fill it up completely if you just want a smaller drink. I haven’t seen anything that says to put it in a dishwasher! I think you are nit picking! And who just had a sip of a smoothie at a time! It isn’t water! Mine was charged when I first used it. I love it, fits my needs and a nice looking portable blender.,
The problem with the blender wasn't the stack order. It was fine with the softer stuff small frozen fruits, but the larger, hard frozen strawberries gave it some fits. Still a decent little blender though, and it's isn't really designed for hard blends anyway, so I woudn't knock it for that... Definitely has it's uses though! The adapter may not be an issue for most people, but I have to mention it since it may be for others.. The instructions say the container is dishwasher safe, but dishwashers will cloud plastic over time. That's the same for any of these companies though... Hand washing is always better on your stuff. Wasn't trying to nit-pick and I'm sorry if it seemed that way, but when I do these, I have to kind of play devils advocate and try to think of anything that might put someone off, so it ends up looking that way a lot of times. At the end of the day, just trying to make sure people know what to expect. Thanks for the thoughful comment though! Appreciate you taking the time to watch and write it!
The shaking and rotating didn't help with the thicker stuff. Not enough power to get through that, but like I said, it's not for super thick Jamba Juice style stuff. Not a knock against it, it's just not for it. I saw the lid on the website, but I couldn't use it for this since it doesn't come with it. If I did, I'd have to also factor in the extra cost for that, and it would have to compare to high end stuff which wouldn't be fair at all. I still should have mentioned that lid though. It's pretty nice.
BlendJet Recalls 4.8 Million BlendJet 2 Portable Blenders Due to Fire and Laceration Hazards Dec. 27, 2023 This recall involves BlendJet 2 Portable Blenders sold in a variety of colors & designs. Serial numbers are printed on the bottom of the base along with "blendjet2" and "The Original Portable Blender."
Well you started well but your attitude needed some refining. I did the same test you did allowing prep-time for thawing and adding liquid 1st and guess what it worked just like they said it would. Amazing when you fully read the directions. But, I'll subscribe to your site anyway, because I did learn something about the generation gap. Guess I'm not a dinosaur yet.
Heya, KC. Never a dinosaur, my friend. haha. I did that test to show that people wanting to make super thick smoothie shop type stuff, might be disappointed. Those hard frozen strawberries were the culprit on that. When I left those out completely, it seemed fine with the smaller berries, even without letting them thaw. That was way better.... I tend to go for the really thick, cold stuff that you really need a bunch of ice or harder frozen stuff to make, so to do that, the rules gotta be broken a little for the portables. The Ninja Blast ended up doing better on that stuff than the Blendjet did, but the Blendjet has a better feature set and is more compact.
Oh my. The science is overwhelming. I understand overloading a miniblender for the sake of testing it but the real capper is never testing another blender and throwing in the "there's probably a better portable blender out there" comment. Good stuff.
There's a Ninja Blast review up as well that handled that particular test a lot better. There were a few things that weren't great with that blender also, but it did handle frozen fruit a lot better. I had already filmed that test on it when I did this review, so that's how I knew. I just didn't want to focus on a different brand in the Blendjet's video.... just felt kinda mean.
Whenever I need it, it doesn’t work, always empty batteries because batteries weakens while blender is ın the cabinet. It looks like a joke that you need to full batteries for about an hour before each usage.
I bought several blendjets when I saw a fantastic promo on Facebook, of all places. One that I gave my nephew was a dud from day one … but I’ve had mine for a while & haven’t had any problems with it & it crushes ice in seconds, so maybe yours is a dud; it could happen There’s a 30 return policy & then try another one & btw… even though mine has been good to me, I do have some grievances with the actual company. The blendjet isn’t cheap… plus they sell allot of accessories (which r aren’t cheap either) & if someone wanted to purchase the blender, the sleeve, the 20oz cup, the swivel lid… it would be close to $200.
All good nuggets there. The problem I had is that I keep my freezer at -7, so the strawberries freeze super hard. It didn't seem to have too many issues with the other frozen berries, but the strawberries were a little too much.
Battery operated? Not to put too fine a point on it, mine was rechargeable. Technically battery operated I guess, but I would have called it rechargeable because that’s what it was. I say was, because my blender was recalled and I haven’t gotten a replacement yet.
I'd say that's a valid critique my friend... It looks like there ar a lot of people waiting on that recall. It doesn't looks like they're handling that very well. How long have you been waiting?

Thanks for the review. I heard that it’s been a recall for this product. How I know if mine is in the list.?
I bought the sipper lid. You can put the sipper lid on tip and turn the blender upside down and remove the base. Then you can screw on the original lid and have the portability without the base.
Well that's pretty ingenious. Good tip for the viewers. Thanks! I saw that in their store, but I didn't include it for the review since I was trying to just keep it to what comes in the box.
Nice

Thank you for your gracious reply. Your observations weren't necessarily inaccurate, it was the negative presentation that bothered me.
@donnaphilipp1677 definitely understandable.
WORST WASTE OF MONEY
@polynesia8733 I know all about that.... I have to buy all this stuff.... Lol... You'd be amazed how much cabinet space I have used up. 😀
@SRose-vp6ew seems pretty perfect for what you want to us it for.
Good product, but TERRIBLE customer service. I purchased two from Costco and there was a recall on them. As part of the recall process, I had to destroy parts of the base to render them un-usable. @mwminnes I've heard a lot of people mention that
If you blend frozen fruits you have to add liquids first and then add frozen ingredients like strawberries bananas or mixed berries
Does it handle milkshakes w icecream and mby blueberries?
@@JoesPhenomenal Here I am 10 months later and Blendjet is still working fine, with attention to whatever limits it has. Overall, I’m happy with it.
@@Finski-sm7cq yes, it’s been doing fine as long as you don’t overload it.
@nyjazzman that's the most important thing, my friend.
(Yes, it really should have come with one.)
Best jobs are small smoothies, dalgona coffee, and whipping heavy cream.
To clean, pour in some water. Add tiny bit of dish soap. Fill up with more water. Blend. When it quits, rinse completely, then fill up again. Blend. Done!
I do not drink out of this. It is a BLENDER. I drink out of a GLASS.
Good tips! Well said, Jennifer!
I add the liquid first. Then the powder. Then the fruit. Then the ice. To un-jam, shake it, flip it upside down, turn it on, and slowly move it back to upright position while blending. Orbiter lid is available for purchase. To clean, just blend some warm water + a drop of soap. 😉
Great tip!
What’s the orbiter lid?
@@stephenisaaks1 I think they make a lid for it with a tamper built in if I remember correctly. They do have some cool accessories on the website.
If you would have been using this thing as instructions say, maybe you would not destroy it. For frozen fruits and stuff, well liquid always goes in first, and before you start blending, you can turn it upside down, then press the button, then turn it back, so it will not get stuck so easily.
I would think that you could leave the lid on it, turn it upside down and remove the base. Drink straight from the plastic with the lid upside down.
Hmm... That sound like a pretty ingenious idea. There might be a lot of dripping coming off the blade that way though... Dunno. Maybe a little messy. I think I'll try it anyways!
That's what I have done since I got it. Works perfectly for me.
Why didn’t you follow the directions that BlendJet provided for fixing stuck items and making nut butters?
That other lid with the sip spout is nice. They need to include that one in the box. It would be awesome. That little bag is cool too. Agree with ya.
I bought one for my wife and shortly after they had a recall, which required her to destroy the product and provide proof so they could send a replacement… well that was almost a year ago and we never got the replacement and they refuse to give a refund stating that they will provide a replacement at some point they just can’t provide a date. What a garbage company
I've seen that exact complaint about 10 times on here. Blendjet has really dropped the ball on that... as bad as they possibly could have, actually
I went through the same process, contacted them a few times and it took a few months before I received my new blender.
@@garheard7337 it’s been 11 months and no replacement for me
@garheard7337 well it's good too see that there are people getting them replaced.
For sure... Flying blades... sounds like my ex.
Sure thing! Thanks!
I don't have a problem with my blendjet at all. I crunch ice in it and frozen fruit without a problem. I know why you had so much trouble.
The instructions says to make sure you put the liquid in first and then solids and they sell sippy lids
@Dupree403 it is. Just can't expect it to be a vitamix or anything... As long as I cut down on the frozen stuff a little it works out OK for me.
Wow! Thanks so much for this honest review! Saved me from a major miss and wasted money. I am only going to use frozen fruits and their ads alludes to that being a breeze which I suspected a battery powered blender will not at all manage. Thank you for confirming my suspicion!
I have one. Its easier than the ni ja I have....so I don't know what this dudes problem is.
Hi. Thanks! It's not a terrible blender at all. It just depends on what you are trying to get out of it. If you're like me, and you like really thick frozen smoothies, it has trouble with those. Thinner stuff, and green smoothies and such come out pretty nice though.
Thankyou for ur review 💓 was very informative 👌
Glad it was helpful!
I have one, used about 6/times and now the blades won’t turn. Support are useless and so is the Blendjet. Not recommended.
Their support has really been pretty aweful with the recall issue they had. That's too bad. How long have you had it?
Not quite a year. They tell me I am out of warranty. I thought that was for a year. They have not been helpful at all. A waste of money in my opinion and not backed up by the company when something goes wrong. I checked twice and my model was not subject to the recall.
@jcollett5220 man.. Sorry to hear that. This kind of stuff sounds like it's becoming more common too.
I have a Ninja portable blender ( Ninja Blast) I have bought it for a few days now actually after your unboxing video and I am happy with it so far. I am waiting for your opinion about it in the next video.
It did a lot better than this one. Finishing up the edit on that one right now.
Hi Joe I just got one today for Christmas I got it charging now for an hour. I got it as a gift and I'm just going to make homemade milkshakes in it. Thank you for showing how it works with Frozen items. Have a happy holiday 🍶🍨
You got it! Just be careful not to try to blend it super thick like I did, and you'll be right as rain! Merry Christmas!
Chop the frozen fruits in smaller chunks before you blend, I think that should help.
For sure! Thanks
Hey Joe, how does this Blender compare to the Ninja Blast portable blender???
I happen to have a comparison video on the channel between the two.
Thank you.
It's a 2, probably. It says what it is on the UPC code area. Mine was the same.. There isn't a big "2" anywhere else.
I seriously want to make icecream smoothie, does it handle icecrram milk mix?
It can as long as it doesn't get too thick, otherwise it will jam it up.
Ive had issues lining up the arrows since my replaced base recall.
Hmm.. They only sent a new base and not just a whole new blender?
I just purchased this gizmo. I have not tried it but it is an oversight, having to drink over the threaded edge.
I heard there's a recall on the blendjet something about the blades breaking off could you confirm that please.
Definitely good to make sure you're starting with a full battery!
They do have a orbital lid that's available! I love mine!
That's for the great insight, Jesse!
Mine is same, it’s a headache that you gave 50 bucks on top of it. It’s totally a scam.
Those replacements are going really slow it seems. Lots of people are complaining about that.
Would not buy again...underpowered, especially when using frozen or semi-frozen fruit...have to dump everything in a cup and pry out the frozen fruit from the blades and keep doing this until it mixes...no thanks. Going to buy something with a cord and more power, was hoping for something better.
How do you line up the arrows?
You attach the cup to the base and twist to line them up.
Yep... That was the exact point I was making with that... It's a nice little blender, but it's not designed really though stuff.
@@JoesPhenomenal exactly mostly just soft wet ingredients
@@ctpreddog1411 for that though... Super convenient... I think the Ninja Blast is better suited for that than this one is, but the Blendjet has better features and a better size, imo.
@@JoesPhenomenal well, I just got done making a smoothie with that machine. I only filled it about 2/3 of the way I’ll let it sit for a little bit to thaw some and then added milk about 3/4 of the way up on the ingredients because I don’t like a lot of liquid it makes it too watery and then did a lot of shaking and repeat running, but eventually came out good.
@ctpreddog1411 Sweet! Letting it thaw a little really helps. 👍
I’m about to throw mine in the trash. Useless POS stops blending after 2 seconds
There's a lot of issues with that blender right now. Try starting the blend holding it upside down, and flip it over after a few seconds. Might help.
For no bigger than it is, I love it. I enjoy powdering my herbs, so I'm pleased with it.
If only it has a pollen trap at the bottom.
That's definitely a pretty good use for it... Just the right size for that, too.
The reason why the frozen fruit did not work in the 2nd example is because the instructions say add liquids 1sr. These are the same in instructions that come with a BlendTec, Vitamin, and/or Ninja. Blender. Frozen fruits work fine on mine as long as I add my liquid first.
Now that over 5 million have been RECALLED it's going to be a VERY LONG before you get your replacement, if ever...
Yeah.... That's a nightmare. I can't even imagine what kind of losses that's going to amount to. It seems like the newer ones aren't affected though. Mine wasn't part of the recall.
2 months so far and NOTHING
@moamaster1 that's terrible.
Get ready to gargle fire and cheap steel blades in their newest model, Killerblender2.
That recall sounds pretty knarly.
I got this for Christmas and was really disappointed with it. It is too much work for me. Give a ten dollar hand mixer any day .
Yeah.. If you like thicker stuff like I do, it's not the best choice for sure.
The say it can crush ice. I don’t have any ice, but it struggles with frozen fruit.
Seems like large chunks of hard frozen stuff can kinda give it fits.
I love my blendjet2 , very convenient for a single person. I even bought a new one cause the one I had stopped working, I stopped using it, I storage it for a few months and when I was trying to go back to use it, it didn't wanna work anymore, so I just ordered a new one
Thanks for sharing! What's your favorite thing to blend in it?
@@JoesPhenomenal healthy juices and smoothies
@babyjohn3356 yep... Sounds like the wheelhouse for that type of blender.
Mine wont take a charge. Company says, past 30 days, too bad. No replace deal. Used 4 times
They're support is really proving to be abyssmal.
I noticed when it gets stuck like it did yours I put it upside down it starts working perfectly by pressing the button try that.
How do you line up the arrows?h
When they are attached together you can twist to line them up.
“I’m going to add less fruit this time…”
*Fills the entire thing with fruit*
😉
🙄
Is the cleaning a pain?
All ya gotta do is add a little detergent to it and blend warm water and it pretty much takes care of it. If you're looking for a portable, I'd probably look more at something like the Ninja Blast though. Blendjet has got a big problem with recalls right now, and it looks like they're not really satisfying their customers with it... Kinda rough.
who is this made for? carry around a heavy motor etc?
I'd think it would make a decent gym blender for your protein shake afterwards, but I kinda feel like a shaker bottle is more convenient for that unless you wanna throw a couple of pieces of frozen fruit it there.... Meaning like 2
@@JoesPhenomenal it's a strange niche product. Thanks for covering it.
@@la1930 yw!
MINE STOPED EVERY 5 SECONDS WITH RAW PINEAPPLE I GIVE IT A..0001 OUT OF 10...JUNK IM OUT $50
Like what you have mentioned, it should not replace your existing kitchen blender, right? if i really want to crush some frozen fruits, bones or nuts i'd still use my regular kitchen blender because why the hell i would do it if i am on the run or on the road? it's not like, "hey i saw some bones and nuts, let's crush them with a portable blender."
And lastly, all products have limitations pushing their limits will sure be disappointing and a waste of time.
You're not the first person to mention that... It's terrible.
I have 4 of the that were recalled so now I have 4 Brand new ones and I also bought the 32oz jar and the Sipper Lid 100% SATISFIED
@@JoesPhenomenal if you put liquid in it first, I haven't had any problem blending through completely frozen fruit bags
I'll check that out.... Also I raised my freezer temp a little... It's at - 7 right now. 😁
FYI I do bele8ve blendjet makes a spout top to drink out of.
Yep... They sell that on their website.
I love my Vitamix but I also like this one for on the go and lighter mixes.
Vitamix might be coming out with one of those soon. That might be interesting to see!
Can you use it while its plugged in?
I can't with mine
Unfortunately, you can't. It's either go or charge. The Ninja Blast can, though.
Can I bled some mixer with oils with this portable blender?
I like the screw top, makes it less like for spilling.
The threads doesn't bother me.
That's a great point. Thanks!
Agreed
After 10 months with the Blendjet, I purchased the Ninja Blast!! It's soooo much better and includes a drinking lid which Blendjet charges extra for!
Definitely more powerful. They just realeased a newer one too that I'm checking out.
piece of crap it works great on liquid but does not work with frozen fruit.
Ninja makes one called the Blast that handles the frozen stuff a little better, but it's not perfect.
maybe shaking it while it blends will help. It would be possible because it's wireless.
That's a good idea, right there... Will probably help quite a bit.
That’s what the instructions say in the pamphlet it comes with.
I love my Blendjet so much that I have purchased 4 more as gifts and the recipients love them as well
Nice! It good to stay off your naughty list! Bless you!
Is it exclusively for your enemies?
Not unless you consider family members your enemies@@timothyprice3670
😆
How about for my MIL, daughter/granddaughters, and 2 coworkers all of whom love the blender
You have to chop your items in tiny pieces before blending. It sticks alot. A real headache.
There is a drink lid for it.
I saw that on their website. I had to do the review based on what you get in the box, but I should have mentioned that there were options there for a few bucks. Thanks!
Turn it upside down and back while blending frozen... Nuts etc.
Lol
Thank God I canceled my order, not as good as advertised.. Uh uh
Good choice....I bought one....not worth it.
Appreciate you taking the time to watch and write it!
when it gets stuck turn it upside down and add what the paper tells you in the first place and you can buy a new Orbiter Drinking Lid
This recall involves BlendJet 2 Portable Blenders sold in a variety of colors & designs. Serial numbers are printed on the bottom of the base along with "blendjet2" and "The Original Portable Blender."
Thanks, Janette. I have the link to the recall announcement on one of these comment replies.
Yeah... Always felt that way about rechargables also. Unless you use em every day or something.
I bought several blendjets when I saw a fantastic promo on Facebook, of all places. One that I gave my nephew was a dud from day one … but I’ve had mine for a while & haven’t had any problems with it & it crushes ice in seconds, so maybe yours is a dud; it could happen
There’s a 30 return policy & then try another one
& btw… even though mine has been good to me, I do have some grievances with the actual company.
YES. It IS total trash!
I love my BlendJet, especially the simplicity.
I have no complaints.
It can be super handy for the right situations, that's for sure. I think it's awesome for protein shakes after workouts and such.
I have one. Used it for a couple of weeks... I still have it. Somewhere
Yeah... This one is it it's box now. Haha.
