  • In Philippians, Paul was writing to a church located in a city that was thoroughly Roman in all ways of life. Similarly, all of us live within the influence of a particular cultural and national context. As Paul reminds us, though, as Christians we have a citizenship that transcends all earthly, national, or geographical ties. Alistair Begg unpacks this truth from Paul, explaining that in our heavenly citizenship through Christ Jesus we find our true identity, security, and dignity.
    Scripture: Philippians 3:20
    Preached: July 5, 2009

Begg’s delivers his messages by gloriously incorporating biblical scriptures under the anointing of God as God alone provides His holy truth through his chosen servant Pastor Alastair Begg. This truth is hard to find in the times we live and I’m grateful for being able to listen and be strengthen daily.

I’m so glad that Jesus loves all of us not because of our performance but because of us. That Christ found us of value and that he would give his life being worth of infinite value to purchase us thinking we were a good buy. My heart is full.
Our value doesn’t come from what we do, it starts with who Jesus is and what he has finished. The curse of sin was placed upon him. Thank you Jesus

I can’t explain to a non believer knowing Christ as an academic exercise , a taught think , and knowing Christ in faith , it’s dark and light literally , and I can go back in my mind and see as the non believer sees and it makes no sense at all ……the Holy Spirit working within literally opens up a new understanding, I think they call it a paradigm shift that is breathtaking 🙏🏻

@@robmarshall956 How would you interpret Acts 2:38? How many baptisms do we have today? Eph.4:5
The spirit works through the written word to bring people to Christ and be added to His church through repentance and water baptism. Other verses such as Acts 22:16; I Pet.3:21 prove this. John 16 is not for us but the apostles who were guided into all truth John 16:13. How do you interpret Mark 16:16 which cannot be HS baptism. There is no command for us to be baptized in the HS today.

@@robmarshall956 Sorry but we are not saved by grace alone or indeed anything alone. That is false teaching. We must do all that the Bible says to be saved... believe, repent, confess Christ, be baptized in water for the remission of sins, and be added to the same church we read about in Acts. Read Acts 2:38... Repent and be baptized...for the forgiveness of sins still stands from the lips of the apostle Peter and is totally compatible with what Jesus said in Mark 16:16.

You are saying that we cannot loose our identity ever? You gave an example by saying that you receive a gift and you do not wanted and give it to your uncle at his birthday! I had a friend, the wife of a good pastor, they had been for many years missionaries in Africa, wonderful Christian’s. They had a daughter that became a nurse, beautiful Christian girl, she developed a brain inoperable tumor, the parents and all the church prayed ,time and time again for their daughter but the Lord took her . The father accepted His will but his wife did not. She rejected the faith and renounced her belief, the husband tried and prayed, we all did for her, but she would not want to hear about it. They moved from that city and we lost contact, I hope she returned to Her Savior but I never heard if she has. Once a Christian always a Christian? Not always I’m afraid, sometimes the heart hardens and doesn’t melt again, we are still praying? Is in the hands of the Holy Spirit!😪✝️🥰
