    Thank you for this. It's my favorite concerto, but I've never heard just the piano part. The orchestra was playing in my head with you. I appreciate your dynamic nuance!

      Thank you, K Wood! I found a lot of people really like hearing the piano solo versions of concerti, because unless you're a pianist who practices it yourself, it's something most people will never hear! 😄 Be sure to subscribe (if you haven't already), and thank you for your support! 😄

    Wonderful interpretation. What I love here is your pacing -- I see and hear so many renditions where it seems like a race to the finish. It takes a confident pianist to bring out the immense tonal beauty of this movement.

    Impressive ! but why the keyboard is moving at 5:21 ?

    • @CharlieAlbrightPianist
      @CharlieAlbrightPianist  8 месяцев назад

      Do you mean left and right? That’s a great question. The soft pedal makes grand pianos’ keyboards move slightly left and right so that the hammers hit fewer of the strings and it makes the sound softer and have a different tone.

    • @CharlieAlbrightPianist
      @CharlieAlbrightPianist  Год назад +2

      Hi Christopher! Hearing protection. I usually use active noise-cancelling headphones for both that reason and also because I often watch/listen to videos while I practice on my laptop (on the piano), but for this video, I went just with good old-fashioned earplugs. 😄 Be sure to subscribe (if you haven't already), and thank you for your support! 😄

      It can be (especially when you're playing loud stuff like this Rach 2), so I will often wear Bose noise-cancelling headphones for two main reasons: 1) hearing protection, and 2) I watch RUclips and stuff on my laptop up on the music rack while practicing sometimes :D
