I was right there defending the album! I’ll admit it wasn’t my favorite, but it is extremely powerful lyrically even though no one really paid attention to the lyrics until Chester’s passing. Some of the people were so mean to him :(
@@jordanabasham i know man, like if they'd really listened to the album with an open mind it's actually pretty good yea sure it's not gonna top their classics, but the songs flow great, lot of really cool ideas, a lot of very uplifting warm songs, instead they just hate on it cuz chester ain't screaming enough on it.
Her voice sounds so good unaltered, definitely wasn't expecting that.

I recently watched the show they played for Chester, and I couldn’t believe how great Julia sounded, and how much she sounded like Kiiara. After watching this, I now realize how much Kiiara sounds like her. This came together so well.
To everyone here saying "THIS NEW ALBUM SUCKS", how did you get your hands on the pre-release copy of the album?
Oh, you mean you're judging the whole album based on 3 songs? Ok then....
i mean when usually all songs were good and nowthere are already 3 bad ones...so math
1. Learn what math is cuz that's not what math is.
2. The 3 released songs aren't as "bad" as you, or everyone else for that matter, are making them out to be (in my opinion). Sure, they sound different from what Linkin Park's done in the past, no doubt about that, but they're by no means "bad" as you say. And save for Hybrid Theory and Meteora, isn't that what Linkin Park's always done? Changing up their sound one way or another with each album?
3. The new sound may not be to your liking and that's fine cuz everyone has different and unique tastes, especially when it comes to music. But don't just state the new songs are "bad" like it's an obvious fact when it's actually your opinion, then be a smartass about how it's math the new album is gonna be "bad".

A sell out is "anyone who sacrifices artistic integrity in an effort to become more successful or popular (generally in music); someone who forgets their roots" (definition taken directly from Urban Dictionary).
So, first thing: Hybrid Theory (Linkin Park's 1st album from 2000) was certified DIAMOND. I'll repeat: Hybrid Theory was certified DIAMOND. How do you think Linkin Park will become more successful/popular than getting certified DIAMOND? By making a poppier-sounding album 17+ years later....?
Second, how is Linkin Park sacrificing their artistic integrity if their new album has a completely different sound than the one from 17+ years ago, or even any of their other more recent albums? Wouldn't Linkin Park be sacrificing their artistic integrity if they did the exact same thing as Hybrid Theory and basically just released Hybrid Theory Vol. 2 3 years after the 1st Hybrid Theory was released? (insert clever Meteora joke here)
Lastly, before anyone says "OK, but they're forgetting their roots". Newsflash: Linkin park doesn't have roots. I don't think they ever had roots. Their 1st album was called Hybrid Theory for a reason cuz that's what Linkin Park and their sound really is. So if you wanted them to go back to "their roots/Hybrid Theory/Meteora" sound or do another "A Thousand Suns" or whatever else, you obviously haven't been paying attention for the last 10+ years cuz their sound every album after Meteora have been vastly different and distinct from one another.
I really don't understand why people call Linkin Park sell outs. Mike from the band said to "expect the unexpected" with this new album earlier this year and that's exactly what we got. You not liking how different they are now compared to whenever you 1st heard of them does not automatically make them sell outs....
I love this song why does everyone hate it
They hate it because they never really took the time to listen to the lyrics of the song or of any of the other songs and I find that really really sad. I love all their music including this song the lyrics tell exactly how I feel. Thanks to their music I'm still alive and I know I'm not the only one.

Heavy isn't objectively LP's best song, but Kiiara has an amazing voice. The production kinda takes that away from her.

Idc what people say, Heavy is a good song. It may not be hard rock but the thing I like a lot about Linkin Park is they are always looking to explore other elements of music, and they always master whatever element they try out. Sure, I do prefer hard rock over all else, but you gotta admire thier cabablilities when they try making songs that fall into other genras. #LINKINPARKFAN4LIFE

2017 Linkin Park = Makes 100% pop song and pushes it to rock radios...
Whether you like this song or not, this _is_ the definition of selling out.
nick supreme Taken out of context once more. Linkin park made rock music in 2014 for the sake of rock standards. And everyone assumed they wont ever change their style again which is the most rediculous thing since theyve been changing their music style for over a decade ago.
"Changing" with a song sounding exactly like the chainsmokers, cowritten by huge-right-now songwriter team J. Tranter and J. Michaels, features popular top 40 singer Kiiara on the track... if it'd been something along the lines of ATS, or a dark ambient album, or a prog rock album, or whatever, that'd be one thing, but it's very strange how every band "looking to change up their sound" turns towards pop music...
nick supreme Chainsmokers sounds like pop music which.. if you know anything about pop music .. Its mostly known for easy listening which all can be perceived as very similar. Then again the same could be said for just about any music.. Look at popular metal songs for instance.. the same overused guitar rifts and melody.

This is coming from someone who has listened to Linkin Park since he was a child. I don't hate all the songs on the album. Even though I don't much like the direction they took with this one it isn't as bad as you would think. I don't listen to the recent songs but I gave each one a listen for at least a week just to see if I could adapt to the style they went with. Personally I'll stick to the albums before but I do not hate Linkin Park just because they decided to go pop for one album. They have plenty of past albums let them do something different. Again I've listened to them for years and will in no way shape or form dislike them based on one change. People these days need to learn that every band will change. I've learned from other artists in the past that they won't stick around one genre for their whole carrier. Change is hard but could be for the best. If he does go in this direction I'll give each song a try before deciding to not like it based on personal opinion. I do like one song so far from the album so it's not terrible. So before you crucify me because I'm supporting them, think of what bands have you listened to that have changed and you didn't care that they changed. True fans don't hate based on change, they dislike based on chance. Unless you give them a chance, you will never like what they have to offer that is different. But I'm just a guy off the internet so don't take my word for it. You be the judge of it.

I was watching an article about Mike Shinoda's interview about a new vocalist for the band, but then there is no one who will replace Chester Bennington, no matter who puts there, people will always make that comparison, but stopping to think would be interesting put in a female vocalist, That would refresh the band and sound even better as it would be a really natural thing and not a cheap copy of Chester and there would be no such comparisons! @MikeShinoda
