    $14 for a bag of black salt....😯 to all people who are interested in indian spices, go to Indian store to buy spices which are way cheaper. Indian grocery store also have organic spices too. It’s like spices stores itself. You can find more species than in your local grocery stores.

    It actually is black before it's ground. I absolutely love the stuff! I discovered the most refreshing sugar free lemon aid ever! I discovered it while visiting Mumbai on a train platform. Now, I drink it 2x a day! Take an empty one litre pop bottle . Put ounces of fresh lemon juice. Add 1.5 tsp of the black salt. Shake vigorously until the salt is dissolved. Then refill the bottle with club soda. Enjoy! My next project is to try using it in my sauerkraut recipe. I'm going to replace the microplastic sea salt with Himalayan black salt. I bet that after it's fermented, it won't even taste like sulfur. I'll keep you posted!

    Update! My Sauerkraut is ready for jarring. When I opened my fermenting pail. It smelled as if 10 people farted in the room but the main ferment is over and the smell is pretty much gone. It was just that initial release. I put cumin in a few jars of last years batch which was very good. I going to do the same with this one. Caraway seeds are good too but I keep forgetting to buy them!

    It also works as a great finishing salt. I made made a sweet potato cashew purée with Garam masala and sprinkled a little on top. The salt gave a nice contrast to the sweet purée.

    Hi there, I bought a package of Kala namak Himalayan black salt on whole foods.
    When I ad it on water (hot or cold) the water turns very dark green. It’s so crazy. I’m not sure if that’s normal or safe for consumption. I searched everywhere and couldn’t find an answer to that.

    Today walked in a local store which mostly imports stuff from Russia and bought same size bag for around 0.80 EUR (less than $1). It's great find in my opinion, and great addition to my recipes. Only this came in a rock form and needs to be grinded.

    Why do you want to taste egg in your food, if you really turned into vegan? 🤔🤔

    • @Megankerry888
      @Megankerry888  3 года назад

      I still enjoy the flavors of food I used to eat. I went vegan because I didn’t want to participate in animal agriculture any more. It was an ethical decision for me not because I didn’t like the taste of food. Making vegan dishes that taste like food I used to eat is comforting and cruelty free. Win win! 🙌
