      Technically, he's just translating loan words written in katakana, and able to guess the word because it's based on English related to the topic.

    List of all the Japanese words re-written with our alphabet:
    1. Doraibaa (Driver)
    2. Reeshingukaa (Racing Car)
    3. Kokkupitto (Cockpit)
    4. Reeshinguherumetto (Racing Helmet)
    5. Torofii (Trophy)
    6. Waarudochanpion (World Champion)
    Japanese words can't end in a consonant (except N) which is why there is often a "u" or "o" added at the end.

  • @Ejohrik
    @Ejohrik 2 месяца назад +3

    These are all loan words meaning they are basically English with Japanese pronunciation. Still impressive how Oscar can read katakana though! It is the character set (45 characters) Japanese uses for phonetic sounds and loan words and its simplistic design make the characters a bit tricky to tell apart.
