I aim for the face, center of mass is a misconception for non lethals, I know byrna does not want to advocate this, but this is how I manage my byrna le.
Just use kinetic rounds and carry a small can of pepper gel mace. There have been several instances where the pepper balls break inside the magazine and don’t break on contact with someone wearing a puffy jacket.
You don't necessarily have to shoot the person directly. You can also shoot the surrounding area near the person, and the powder will still do the job. I've seen a video of this, too.

I have both the 5 and 7 round magazines and the Byrna Max and Duke Extreme rounds I keep in them have held up. When you load them, what orientation are you using... Seam up or to the side?
I appreciate seeing the real time effects. I'm curious to an indoor event as to the cleanup of the pepper spray, I'm guessing a vacuum is not the proper method?

I follow all gun laws so if I do go somewhere or if I in future buy a home in a state that takes 6 months to get a permit I would not be afraid to carry one of those in concealed carry holster. If some one tried to rob You with a Byrna it could turn from a robbery to them choking on pepper balls. If someone got shot By five or six pepper balls directly to the face and eyes that could help in self defence. Thanks for uploading video. I’ve shown it to many people, let them try it out, and they all agree that it looks like a Glock, which actually did have to show it to somebody once to deter aggression, and the person who walked away thinking that the gun was real, and my friends who have tried mine have all said there surprised at the accuracy and how hard the projectile hits.
But see in your case you just brandished it to deter. Thats just brandishing a replica firearm, it says nothing about the byrna. I want to know if the kinetic rounds from a byrna can actually deter and stop a real threat, not something staged.

All you have to do is watch videos of people hitting each other with these kinetic rounds, and it doesn’t matter if it’s 10 Joules or 39 Joules, it’s going to fuck somebody up either way. Again, I took this thing out of my glove box and put it on the seat, and the dude that was messing with me walked away in fear. Did I really need 29 more joules to make that effective? I think the kinetic rounds can deter if placed at the face head neck sternum. But the head is a difficult moving target, so you better be practicing with your byrna you cant just buy it and leave it in a closet otherwise you wont be accurate and proficient with it when the time comes to use it.
point blank in the face in a intense situation wouldnt go to well for the guy, could go both ways with this, either you get the shot or you just escalated it further

Those breaks were in the old 7 round magazines, and those were fixed over a year ago.

Pepper round residue would be best cleaned by wetting affected surfaces and wiping EVERYTHING!
Not advised to use chemical rounds inside your house. It will go into your hvac filters
You literally have to go full hazmat to clean the chemical rounds up inside your house.

You can buy a very high quality pepper gel for under $30, why not just carry that small can and put kinetic rounds in the magazine of the Byrna?
