Incredible Craig! This is the bar-none best video that you have done. The editing, props, and choice of clothing mixed with entertaining shots of both the interior and exterior have me completely fascinated! Thank you for sharing the incredibly fun facts and knowledge about this little truck, none of which would have been nearly as exciting and capturing to watch had you not gone to the extent you did in this video! Very very very well done Craig keep up the good work! P.s just watching this video makes you want to "act" more sophisticated. Cheers!
Thanks a lot brother! Really glad you enjoyed it and such encouraging words from you man!! I'll try and bust another vid out in less then 6 weeks now :)
Thanks a lot man! I'm glad the cars are being enjoyed. I don't think I'm making videos frequently enough to attract a larger audience at this stage but I'll keep working at it.
The paint in the bed and in general looks so good it was probably never used for any real utility.. or was protected somehow. It could actually be a fancy golf cart.
Even this radio device is with Japanese FM band 76-90, but here we have 87.5 - 108. This will need a mp3 USB player in a model like this, like a SONY device. Even in northern Chile we have some models of this classic. DAIHATSU is a TOYOTA brand, so many original parts are available.
Yes JDM radios are generally useless here. On cars where we are less interested in preserving the OEM integrity I'll swap in new head-units but in some cases (like this Midget) the client wanted it left original for his collection.
Kind of a neat little truck to drive around your property or for short trips around town. The bed sure sucks on that thing, you could probably add some sides and make it more useful.
The metric fuel economy measurement is 24.5km/L at 60km/h. Fuel tank is 31L. And i'm not sure how to respond to option question. Do you mean for the Midget range? Because for this particular truck I think I covered it.
The insurance companies and transport Canada counter that argument with 'what country was the car manufactured for, and which hand do you use to shift'
And for that reason it cannot be licensed in Québec where our SAAQ has decided to protect us form ourselves by not homologating RHD vehicles, even if they have been accepted by Transport Canada.
hey Anthony, do you want to send me an email to craig@bonsairides.com ? Because the Midget was a spec import for a client I don't want to make the price public. It was pretty cheap though :)
My own warped mind is picturing a date with a cute girl and you're driving one of these. You show up to her house and she asks, "Where do I ride?" So you look at her with hungry eyes and point square at the hard-on you worked yourself into on the way over, and she laughs and says, "Too small. I'll just meet you there."
@@BonsaiRidesImports Daihatsu midget 2 have 34 hp and 4speed i Drive to 117 km/h but so long to reach to top speed 117 km/h maybe need 6 minutes or more reach to top speed from midget 2
I loved driving this thing in Gran Turismo and now I want one in real life
Sweet! If you want assistance with that I would be glad to help
That 'cup holder' is maybe the best feature of all time, lol!

To answer your question about use of the truck - bars like them because the bed is perfect for hauling kegs.
are k cars cheaper to ship from japan than normal sized cars?
Yes. I prorate freight based on volume
These videos are so good! You definitely deserve way more subs. Keep up the good work!

This Midget has 15,000km on it so it was only lightly used in Japan before we shipped it. Thanks for watching!
So good I watched it twice!
Getting harder to find these old Midget's! Only 88 for sale as of April 2020.
I have a similar green one for sale on my website www.bonsairides.com

It is useful for creating smiles. 🙂
Noticed there are no manual window rolling handles on the left door. How does that window open?
r s the left door window does not open
What is the mpg? fuel capacity? what are all the options?

what happen if you just put more than 150kg? does it break in half or is it just for legal thing ?
albapor1 chassis would probably be fine, but suspension probably wouldn't like it, nor would the brakes
yea so it's just suspension and brakes, nothing that would brake :) ok thanks :p
god i want one so bad!
MasterChef 117 I’ve got one for sale 😊
@@BonsaiRidesImports really!!??
@@BonsaiRidesImports that's awesome!
MasterChef 117 it is listed on my website Bonsairides.com and you can contact me at craig@bonsairides.com if you are interested.
Road legal in Canada. What's that mean for those interested people who don't live in Canada?
Wooo
هديتي لهنصم باذن الله يستاهلها صديق العمر🙂🔫.
is it considered a RHD car in Canada? cause you're kind of sitting in the middle of it

Ohhhhh I see. Thanks for the info mate!😁

How much will this cost? I am going to buy the Nissan Micro from you soon.

is this a microcar? i´m never saw this model in my life lool...
It sure is! Any micro car meet I've attended has capped engine volume at 1000cc, and the MidgetII is sub 660cc
Thanks to games like Gran Turismo that these kei cars are becoming popular as imports.
Filipe1020 I’ve never played it before but have certainly heard from people who have. Driving it for real is probably more fun 😊
man I love that thing LOL My big ass would prolly not fit in there
because its a single seater, the cab actually feels a bit roomier then a normal Kei truck. I didn't find this one in the least bit cramped
needs a mower deck
they prefer the term (little person) not MIDGET!
The truck is just being nostalgic for pre-PC days lol
Has a great sound, not in this vid though
interesting takeaway

Just empty boxes! haha

yes! you can't carry too much in a Midget :)
Машинка хорошая , на работу приехать или в магазин сгонять .

Full speed the car 117 kph
andy montana no way!! Have you done that? I currently own a different one and I don’t think it’s been over 70km/h
