- Blaze Battle Round 1: Odds are if you are looking for this, it's probably because Eyedea. Im only uploading this because there are other battles on this card that are harder to find. Some good names and some not so good names.
RIP EYEDEA! He is and still is one of the best rappers/battler's of all time! His writtens and freestyles are one of a kind. Such a sad loss.

Did you guys buy one of the R.EYE.P memorial shirts from his mom? I met him like a week before he died at the Soundset Festival in Minnesota and bought this custom poem book that he made with his grandmother. It was numbered from 1 to 31 and each one had a different drawing on the cover of it along with different colors. Had him autograph it along with my VIP pass. I treasure that thing.

with all the robberies that took place during these blaze battle rounds, I'm just happy that Eyedea managed to walk away with the W. It easily could've gone either way judging from the outcome on some of these battles. Eyedea came most consistent, and his punchlines were all of the tip! This event would've lost ALL credibility if they robbed Eye!

KRS ONE knew who was the true winner that night. Every time he said Eyedea he had this smirk when he said it. Like saying "this is the true champ"
Maximum Karnage eyedea vs young zee woulda been interesting. I'm pretty sure eyedea woulda won either way, but zee is really original and unpredictable and hilarious. He'd be hard to plan an attack angle for whereas shells is more basic like a NPC of a "NY rapper" in a PS1 GTA game

it's amazing that you even have this footage. I saw this when it originally came out on HBO but the entire thing was edited down to the battle highlights until the later roudns. Props for uploading this. No idea how you even have the entire thing like this.

Eyedea was on a completely different level than everyone else in this competition. No one was even remotely as good as him.
because everyone else was packing pre-written quatrains instead of looking for punchlines.. but they knew they were gonna lose so they just went to promote their brands or squads.. it's amazing how much different the landscape is now..

For Shells to freestyle this entire battle was insane. He is a writer first and foremost. I think it should've came down to KT and Eyedea or Eyedea and E-Dub.

Young zee or edub should've been on the final. Zee was better than Shells. But you could tell Shells was freestyling most of the time, thus why he doesn't flow as well. At least he was really freestyling. Thou who really got mad robbed was the guy that lost to riece

I've said this on other uploads of this but he handled the audio fuckup situation, and then subsequent destruction by eyedea gracefully with class. He was a good sport fr.

Honestly RK was a respectable freestyle MC back then. He used to win a lot of tournaments in Florida and had to battle people like Jin, Parable, Madness etc who were all formidable.

This was the reason this was uploaded. Prime said he was basically told by some goons (Reise’s label Goons) before the battle “you know your going to lose right”? He said he didn’t care and was young and felt he even if they were serious he wasn’t going to keep him from doing his best. She had people in the crowd so they were louder than the general audience.

+sonicdrawer746 I think it is pretty obvious in most of these battles who was spittin' writtens and who was freestyling off the top. Take Prime versus Riece for example. He was all off the dome, and she was all written. Which makes it even funnier that she was messing up, and even more ridiculous that she won. Prime got jerked big time in this battle.
