Thank you so much. I spent a long time trying to go by xfinity's instructions and it did not work at all, however two tries from your instructions and bam done, got it.
❤ My goodness thank you so much. I tried everything xfinity said. Nothing they said worked. Thank you so much. 100% straight to the point. I think Comcast Xfinity just likes to mess with our patience. Thank you. It worked literally in 10 seconds. We need Americans to work the cable company. ❤❤❤❤
With your sound bar already on We’re going to pair your Xfinity remote with your sound bar. Step 1 Hold down to A&D buttons until the light turns green Step 2 press 9-9-2 Step 3 Channel up slowly until sound bar or audio receiver cuts off Step 4 Press the center (OK/Select) button to lock the code in. That’s it! Turn your sound bar or audio receiver back on and test your volume. (I recommend having the volume of your TV down to zero to avoid echoing effect.) If, by chance your volume does not work on your sound bar start over. Accept for in step 3 when the sound bar cut off continue to press the volume button until the sound bar cuts back on. This method will cycle through different codes that allows the remote to connect to certain compatible device brands and models. Step 4 Press the center (OK/Select) button to lock the code in. ***Tip*** For some uncommon or offbrand models, it may be easier to find your code by channeling down instead of up. Take your time and channel like each second of a clock, if, by chance, you overthrow it just channel in the opposite direction until device responds. Then press (OK/Select) to lock that specific code in.
Thanks so much! We got a new TV and it's been a nightmare all morning. So much for "smart" tvs, our new Sony couldn't detect our Xfinity box. We unplugged and reconnected everything and power cycled the xfinity box several times. It finally connected but we couldn't control power or volume, but we could change channels. This is why everyone is moving to streaming.
I work for Xfinity just press and hold the Xinfinity and I(info) at the same time and make sure youre aiming the remote the cable box you should be getting the code on the screen if not do it again
That is what is supposed to happen but on my TCL Roku it didn't work even Comcast tech support failed. This approach worked quickly and flawlessly even the process to get the channel changing to work. Thanks so much to CableGods!!
I tried this but I have the same kind of box in a different room that shares a wall and it kept trying to pair with THAT TV instead... still cycling through...
@dorothytucker9305 if you can, hold the remote as close to the box you’re trying to pair or just unplug the other box (not the tv) until you’ve paired the box you want to pair
Whatever input your plugged into on your television. If your using a HDMI cable the slot will have a number beside the input. If you can’t see the back or side of your tv try to snap a pic with a smart phone of the back or side of tv to see where your cable box is plugged into. If you’re not using a HDMI cord and you have a line that’s screwed into the back of your tv with a coaxial cable coming from the cable box you need to put your (tv)(meaning use the remote that came with the tv) and place tv on channel 3… this is (SD) Standard Definition… Can see the back of your tv? Look up the type of tv on the internet for pictures of the inputs
I had to do with channel up to turn it on then I got input to work but it still doesn’t do anything else. I got power and volume but nothing else like voice guide or number buttons.
Ok you’ll have to reset the remote Depending on which remote you have… XR11 Hold setup button or XR15 Hold A+D button until the light turns green Then press 9- 8-7. This resets the remote, all but sound & power. You will have to point remote at the cable box You will be able to change the channels but the mic for the voice remote will need programming. XR11 Hold setup until light turns green or solid then press XFINITY button. Input the 3 digits that pop up on your screen XR15 Hold A+D buttons until light turns green or solid then press XFINITY button. Input the 3 digits that pop up on your screen
Ok I am having problems with my xfinity cable box. I set it up it asks me the usual stuff and then it asks me do you want to control your tv power and volume I hit yes and then it says scanning for Devices and it will get stuck on that for hours and hours and It never stops.
When it asked you if you want to control your TV power and volume… Hit no… then follow this video ruclips.net/video/WzJV9xFoPbk/видео.htmlsi=5KGt9I5HqhOy4-s1
I’d start by changing the batteries (make sure it’s some decent name brand batteries) Then hold A + D until the light turns green then press 987- (this will reset your Remote) (Pointing your remove directly at your cable box ) Hold the i + Xfinity button. (3 numbers should pop up on the screen, enter those numbers) (Now your mic should be working. If by some chance it freezes just hit the exit button on the remote and then try your microphone.) If a prompt you to set up your TV for volume and power, just follow those instructions or this video… ruclips.net/video/pNAPPodkrLI/видео.htmlsi=FoBFh19p1XYgcfcR
Point it at the cable box. Hit the Xfinity button. Go to settings/Remote setting/voice remote pairing. Hit Yes. Follow those instructions. Let me know if that worked for u?
With tv on. Press top left button (tv/input)while pointing remote towards tv until your on the correct input that your cable box is plugged into. HDMI 1, 2, 3, etc ***make sure your cable box is physically connected to your tv by HDMI cord or coax cable. HDMI preferred
Do you have your tv plugged into a soundbar or optical cable? Is so you may need to disconnect it first. Also what brand tv? You might have to scroll thru several codes before finding the one that works for your tv. If your tv is an off brand like Polaroid or similar it best to channel down during the setup vs up.
Yes you definitely have to have a cable box unless you just want to use remote to turn tv on/off and volume up/down. That’s the only thing that will work without a cable box. To do this Hold A+D button until light or remote turns green (Pointing remote at tv). Channel up slowly until tv cuts off. Then press the (Ok/select) while tv is still off to lock in code then press power button to turn tv back on
Point remote directly at cable box and try changing channel. Then press the volume button and the TV should prompt you to pair your remote. Your remote has to be paired with the cable box in order for it to work with (RF) Radio frequency. Meaning you don’t have to be in the line of site or basically point it at the cable box.
Well turn your tv on bruh! There’s a button somewhere on your television and if you can’t find an actual power button on your tv Google your brand tv and where the power button is located. Then turn it on and follow the video again. The only time this doesn’t work is if your tv is broke, you have a bad remote, or your just doing it wrong
@@CableGods here’s the thing. My tv was already set up. One day, the volume stopped working, so I tried replacing the batteries. Didn’t work. Then I tried re-pairing the remote. Now it’s in a cycle of resetting and buttons not working. How do I start over and get everything working again?
