Due to the privilege of getting into elderly years, my fine hair has thinned out a lot. My hair is very soft & even when I had more than I do now, I could put a barrette in & have it literally slide right down my hair & land on the floor. I had my doubts the French pin would work....but it's so cute, I had to try it. I ordered some & WOW, when you put it in the correct way, EVEN in my thin head of fine hair, it holds securely all day long ! I'm so glad. I love to wear my hair up & now, thanks to French pins & some really cute , pretty designs of hair claws, I can wear my hair up w/out damaging it.
@@patwagner9308 I'm so glad it worked for you! I love French pins!
I hardly ever wear my hair down and worry about my hair breaking. I could never figure out how these things worked. Thanks so much for such an easy tutorial. I will try this out. Thanks again.
Update: I followed your instructions. My hair is a bit thick and I have a low hairline so it was a little tricky but it worked!!! It really works just the way you showed. I can't believe it. No points for me for style but I'm going to work on it. But I'm here to say it really works!! Thank you so much. The headaches I got from pulling my hair up with scrunchies are a thing of the past. No more hair breaking! You are a genius! ❤
I bought my first one and looked at a ton of tutorials and this was the first one that explained the twist properly. Thanks!! ❤️❤️
I'm glad I could help!
It's a weapon too. A win win 😊
More French pin tutorials please! Got some a couple years ago and still can't get it right ugh I actually did once and loved it but somehow it was just that one time lol also got a haircut and I guess they don't work as well on shoulder length hair so I'll have to wait 😅
I have sooo many of these ( I buy too many hair things😅) never been able to use them successfully… will try again
You made this so easy to understand and achieve success! Lol!! Thank you.
This is great. I'd never heard of a French pin before. I'm going to recommend it to my sister who has very fine, fragile hair. Thanks for taking the time to make the video. 😁
Ahhh thanks so much!
I have some of these but haven't taken the time to experiment. Thank you for the tips!
Your videos always inspire me! Thanks for sharing! 🌟
Quickly rummaging through my drawer to see if I still have one… I could never figure these out, thank you!
Very helpful--thanks!
WOA this just improved my quality of life, I have such problem hair and I never know how to wear it up. This style actually looks nice on me! Thank you !
@@electro_chonk so happy to hear thay!
You explained this VERY well!!! 👌
Thank you! I have a set of these but couldn’t get them to work. I have very fine but very long hair. I’m going to try again. ❤
Yes! I have long curly hair and I have one of these made with koa wood. Koa wood is used for surfboards. I love it because it lifts my hair up off my neck with no damage.
Great video. I have thick hair and fight with anything staying in. I’m going to try this.
I have a normal amount of hair, but it is really fine and almost impossible to style. I’m glad I found you 😊❤
You are an excellent teacher. Great job!
Thank you!
I do this same thing with a hair chopstick. I want to try this 2 prong now. Thanks for the tutorial!
I want to get a hair chopstick! I used to use them in middle school
I loved hair sticks in the 90's and had a hard time finding anything cute once they fell out of fashion as hair accessories. I thought I saw some beautiful wooden turned hair sticks at an art booth a few years ago. They were shawl pins apparently, for knitters to sell to close their works. So it was higher than I wanted to pay, hand-crafted and I could not have afforded a pair lol. Maybe another way to hunt for them though, good luck. You can always use pencils, I'd find tons from the art room in my hair when I was still teaching
Thanks!
Subscribing in hopes of more styles like this! Thank you for going slow and explaining! So many of these channels just fly through the style with music in the background and I end up never being able to mimic it.
I have so many cute styles you can do with these, I will make more tutorials for sure!
Thank you for sharing this. I hope you would think about showing us more ways/styles with these French pins? 😊🇬🇧
Thanks 🤗
Love these pins awesome for thin hair
One of my favourite accessories!
I bought some of these off Amazon. Having a little troubke using them, lol. Ill just have ti keep tryin'
Sushmita: the Claw-Clip (covered in a suede or velvet fabric - buy from accessory stores) does exactly that and even better and more secure ... no tension 👌
Thank you. Now I know what I was doing wrong!
I have never used one of these but I am going to go to your Amazon page and get one. I’m always concerned about hair ties pulling my hair out. I have a few small very good claw clips that I use but I’m always interested in new accessories that will hold my hair up!! Love these kinds of videos!! ❤❤❤
I'm an African American woman with kinky curly hair and it's great. I got the gold metal one thats really sturdy so it doesn't break. Chef's kiss💋 🤌🏼
@@peacebalance8067 thank you!!!
I love your videos! They have made styling my hair easier. You sparkle!
Thank you I have been doing this wrong
I have fine dense hair, gonna give this a try. Tired of buns on top of my head all the time!
You will love it! Such a fun option instead of the same bun all the time!
@diyhairschool4445 Using your link (and I followed you on Amazon) there is a pack in my cart. I also added the hair wax stick to try cuz of my baby hairs.
@@stitchy_linn I hope you love them as much as I do!
I have long hair that I wear in a topknot, and tried these - the smoothness is great for no damage, but I found the plastic eventually warps out of shape and then it doesn't hold ....... : (
Hi. Can you link the other video showing a few hairstyles using the French pin? I’m not finding it. 😊
I thought I had made one long one but I didn't (I'm going to!) here are a few shorts though ruclips.net/user/shortsGj9IPyDgtwM?si=Z880Gyi1-bzCI8OW

Thanks! I enjoy your fine hair tips!
I find it easier to do with hair combs.
I looked in your Amazon store, didn't find the link for the "French Pin". Where else should I look?
It's in the accessories idea list here! If you scroll down you'll see them! Check out this list Accessories from diyhairschool www.amazon.com/shop/diyhairschool/list/1V56D6NORSH5L?ref_=cm_sw_r_mwn_aipsflist_aipsfdiyhairschool_4WP84KHXGSQSCDCTWZ5H&language=en_US
@@diyhairschool4445 I see them, pack of 2 or pack of 8 on third row
I've tried and tried several times over the years. I just can't get it right.
Bummer.
I looked at your amazon page. No info on where to buy products. No ,I dont wany to join anything
Heftige Spannung auf der Kopfhaut, und außerdem brechen sie auch leicht😮
Ive never seen or heard of French pins.
And it does not hurt? 🥺It looks so tight…
It can be done too tight or too loose like with any other hair tool. Just takes a little practice to get the tension right :)
I do this with a pencil at school if desperate to get my hair up.
Sushmita: claw-clip works much more easier ❤
ooh boy, My hair is down just about past my butt...it's THICK....I think I'll need a pitch fork to hold her up..LOL. Lets just say my "bun" is the size of a loaf of sour dough bread..LOL
Why not just cut some of it ? Long does not automatically equal nice looking . You could cut it up to your armpit length and it would still be long and give you way more style options than hair that just hangs like curtains .
@@SleeplessinOC When you lose all your hair and end up bald, you have a tendency to get attached to it when it finally grows back. I wouldn't call it "curtains"as you put it either. It has shape, bounce and lots of curls. I've been told by many people that people pay to have thick, healthy, non-processed hair like mine. I also donate my hair every 2 years because I can unlike a lot of people.
These always slide our of my hair, I've tried plastic, wood and metal versions.
And it does not hurt? 🥺It looks so tight…
